I think that's a cool idea.

A lot of the reason the races are pretty humanoid is that it gets tougher to apply standing wrestling rules the more alien races become. Oh Troy..stop being so literal. We know that's the REAL LIFE reason, but we're talking about the storyline reasons. Let us play around in imagination land, if you please.

Knowing some of the people here, that could be really scary.

Thanks for the feed back on my idea. I'll get things started this weekend and hopefully have the federation running by next week. This will truely be a very interesting history to read.

A few years ago, I wrote a series of stories about how wrestling became such a phenomenon throughout the cosmos, and I shared bits and pieces on the old board. Some of the hilights included:
Commander Sam's grandfather, an astronaut, being stranded on an alien planet in which he had to fight to survive. Seems he only really knew how to wrestle like the guys on TV, and eventually, his style of fighting caught on with the lizard-like inhabitants.
Wolf's father was captured by Aethrans and forced to fight in the Gladiator arenas. He adopted a style of combat that incorporated holds and throws, and up to the point where he was killed in action, he was the most successful and most emulated gladiator on Aethra's third moon (Gladiator Coliseum).
A wizard, capable of time travel, jaunted back to old earth. While there, he became quite a fan of drink, deception and pro wrestling. Some years after the experience, he taught what he knew to several kids. He even shared the descriptions of such greats as Brazil, The Sheik, the giant man and McDaniel. One young listener was fascinated with this man's stories, especially those about the wrestler named Wahoo.
A former wrestler joined a team to explore a distant called Brymstone. Upon their arrival, the entire party was stalked and killed, one by one. Just like all the others, before he died the wrestler's mind was wiped by the Children of the Skull.

I was thinking of doing something with commander sam's grandfather. I was thinking of haveing him wrestler the first alien that step into the earth wrestling ring. The first aliens I was thinking of having come into the earth federation was a cygnus wrestler and maybe a gladiator wrestler thus causeing the break out of the great war that got wrestling banned.
