OK, since questions have been raised over the 12:Large Summit and the 3 Points System, I thought I would ask one that's been bugging me a little...
How are you going to run a Young Lions Cup Tourny? The current rules state that it is for wrestlers 25 years old or younger...and I checked, that's not a lot of the roster even if you add in the regular LotF guys.
I am going to run mine based off of years of experiance. It gave me a nice 8 man field from within the set itself and some interesting match-ups come tourny time.
So, how are the rest of you going to run the Young Lions Cup?

You know, I may skip it. With them having an actual singles title, YLC loses a lot of its significance IMO.

I will maybe have a tournament, but not emphasize the defenses of the cup. In reality the tournament gets a new structure this year. I'll be interested to see how it plays out. |

Not realy Troy. I mean guys like Claudio, Quack, Jigsaw and Kingston will be up for the singles title but not the YLC, but guys like Frightmare, Los Ice Creams, and Archibald Peck could use the rub a YLC Tourny win can provide.
I am with you, TM, on the defense thing though. Being such a small pool to begin with I think I'll just use it like the KoT title and be something someone wins and holds on to.

And that's a cool idea.
But yeah, I'm not about to try and figure out who's 25 or under or how long they've been wrestling.
Still might have a tournament though.

Sure. But I realized after looking that it's 8 from my roster, which includes the Osirian Portal from LotF. I'm sure if you weren't using them you could replace them with someone else. Having said that, the eight entrants into my Young Lions Cup are:
Amasis
Ophidian
Tim Donst
Green Ant
Dasher Hatfield
Archibald Peck
Frightmare
and last but not least...and I hate giving plots away but for this I will...
Tursas! The thinking here is that the BDK will use the fact that he's only been with CHIKARA for a short time, and there is no record of him competing anywhere else, so by the definition of the tournament (less than 5 years experience) he's eligable. And much to the chagrin of Wink, they are right.

Thanks. I'm still trying to decide on several things regarding what will eventually be my CHIKARA fed and appreciate hearing what others are thinking.

I haven't decided for sure, but I think my rules for the YLC will be that all wrestlers are eligible for their first three years in the fed. The plans are for CHIKARA to become an annual release, so this should work out well with new talent coming in every year. It's also gives everyone an exclusive "3 year window" to try and win the Cup. I won't use guys like Quack, Kingston and Claudio though. Just the young up and comers. If I booked it right now I think my 8 person YLC would include: Frightmare, Tim Donst, Green Ant, Tursas, Archibald Peck, Jigsaw or Sara Del Rey, Icarus, and Pinkie Sanchez.
