“Good evening folks, and welcome to the second edition of WGXplosion!”The fans let out a huge pop…
“And what an explosion it was as we gave you one helluva night of action to kick off the new frontier in professional wrestling! A battle royal and a 16-man tournament all in the same night!”The cheers continue…
“I want to offer my congratulations to Captain Fear for winning the tournament and becoming the first WGX Heavyweight Champion. But now, let’s move on to tonight! This evening, we will be holding a tournament to crown the first WGX Tag Team Champions!”Another big pop…
“This is how it’s going to work. There will be 10 teams in the tournament. 6 of the teams will get first round byes. Now, if you’ll recall from a couple weeks ago, there were 5 wrestlers that were not allowed to enter the Heavyweight Title Tournament due to their early eliminations in the opening battle royal. Those 5 men were Static, Ozymov, Ulencio, Jazz, and Scar. So, I’ve decided that these men’s teams will all receive first round byes in the tag team tournament.
However, Static and Ulencio will be a tag team, so that leaves 2 teams to receive byes. So, I decided to reward those to the wrestlers that made it the furthest in the Heavyweight Title Tournament. Now, Oblivion is Scar’s tag team partner, so he’s already taken care of, but Antiseptic and Menace both made it to the semifinals, so their teams will get those final 2 first round byes. That’s it folks; now I’ll get out of this ring so we can get to the show!”The first-round tournament matches will take place as follows…

Menace hit QUANTUM SINGULARITY on Hoichiro on the concrete floor while Stain slammed Kibagami in the lower back with a steel chair! Next, the silent one laid the chair on the mat, lifted the martial artist up in the air, and then gave him a Big Man Powerbomb right on the chair! The crowd booed…
ROCKMAN: “It looks like paying Antiseptic off to take Kibagami out of the Heavyweight Title Tournament wasn’t enough revenge for Dark Star!”DUCE: “Indeed Hawk! Menace and Stain have made quite a statement here tonight!”DIABLO KILL SQUAD VS. TORO MOLDAVO & ZARIUSZarius wore down Noose with 2 DDZ’s (Scoprpion Death Drop) but Slipknot made pin saves on both occasions. Moldavo tagged in, trapped Noose in the MATA LEO (lion kill choke), and it was all over!

DARK STAR VS. HUBRIS & OZYMOVThe Oynxians were already in the ring when the Soviet crowd went crazy for their homeplanet’s own, Ozymov as “I Am A Russian” by Tony Nice & Russian Bounce pumped through the arena.
The narcissist took it to Menace early on, including a plancha to the big man concrete floor. Menace was able to tag Stain in, who was soon hit with an anti-gravity dropkick from Ozymov. The silent one managed to kick out, but then Hubris tagged back in and blasted him with a SAVING FACE. Menace came in for the save. Then, a huge pop was heard as Hoichiro hit the scene and distracted Menace as Hubris hit his finisher on Stain again! Menace tried to make another save but Hoichiro held onto his ankle, preventing him from entering the ring as referee Jeff Diamond was preoccupied with making the 3-count!

MATCH RATING: 1½ StarsDUCE: “Good for Hoichiro! Dark Star deserved what they got for that heinous assault on The Shogunate earlier tonight.”ROCKMAN: “That’s fine and dandy Duce, but I think Hoichiro might have just signed his own death certificate!” JERK & JIVE VS. RED GUARDJazz and Fenix got the crowd on its feet and dancing as they came down the aisle to Earth, Wind, & Fire’s “Let’s Groove”. Fenix was still showing signs of injury from being attacked by Hubris two weeks ago. The Red Guard took full advantage of this and wore the skyweight down until Scar finally pinned him after a Phantom Flying Headbutt.

MATCH RATING: 1 StarSuddenly, Hurbis rushed down to the ring and gave a SAVING FACE to both Fenix and Jazz! A huge pop was heard as Mid-Knight hit the scene and chased the narcissist off before any more damage could be done…
ROCKMAN: “What the hell does Mid-Knight have to do with all this?”DUCE: “I’ve heard from a few trusted sources that he is very close friends with both Jazz and Fenix.”ROCKMAN: “So, you’ve got a guy in a mask and cape that’s buddies with two guys who swivel their hips and are called ‘Jerk & Jive’. I can’t make this stuff up people; it’s just that ridiculous. I guess we have to appeal to the ‘alternative lifestyle’ audience too.”DUCE: “This coming from a guy named ‘Hawk Rockman’. Sounds like a star of some ‘alternative lifestyle’ films if you ask me.”Highlights were shown from the previous edition of Xplosion when Kalisto and One Eye had a heated discussion backstage. One Eye said they would meet again in the ring very soon.
ONE EYE & ANTISEPTIC VS. BENJAMIN SHROUD & KALISTOThis one was a knock-down drag-out fight! One Eye and Antiseptic took turns going at it with Shroud until the libertarian made a tag to Kalisto, who had a big grin on his face as he entered the ring to lock horns with One Eye. The crowd popped for seeing the two largest men in the WGX stand toe-to-toe as well. They met everyone’s expectations as they beat the hell out of each other. One Eye hit a top rope splash but shortly thereafter Kalisto came back with the GREAT RED SPOT with Antiseptic making the save.
The tide turned when the bully pulled his trademark blackjack out of his boot and dug into Kalisto’s forehead with it. Then things spilled to the outside and the violence level increased. Eventually, after the other 3 men had hit their finishers during the course of the bout, One Eye clobbered Shroud with the SAP ATTACK while Antiseptic kept referee Nate Walker and Kalisto occupied, and that was it.

I don’t think Hubris and Ozymov stand an alcoholic’s chance at Oktoberfest against One Eye & Antiseptic in the semifinals!”STATIC & ULENCIO VS. TORO MOLDAVO & ZARIUS Zarius ended this one quickly by nailing Ulencio with the DDZ.

ROCKMAN: “Well Hoichiro, tell us, what is Kibagami’s condition after that dastardly attack you and he suffered at the hands of Dark Star earlier tonight.”HOICHIRO (through a translator): “He’s not too good. After an initial medical exam the doctors think he has suffered a herniated disk in his back.”ROCKMAN: “And do you have any serious injuries yourself?”HOICHIRO (through translator): “I’m a little bruised up but nothing serious.”ROCKMAN: “Do you think Dark Star will be looking to get back at you for costing them that match against Hubris and Ozymov?”HOICHIRO (through translator): “Of course they will, but I will beat them to it. I would like to issue a challenge to Stain for a singles match on the next edition of Explosion, so I may avenge Kibagami!”The crowd let out a gigantic pop…
ROCKMAN: “Enough said!”WGX TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - SEMIFINAL MATCHES
ONE EYE & ANTISEPTIC VS. HUBRIS & OZYMOVSenior referee Mark Taggart was in no mood for One Eye’s antics, and disqualified the bully for using the SAP ATTACK on Hubris!
WINNERS: Hubris & Ozymov via DQ in 4:21
MATCH RATING: ½ StarNot surprisingly, One Eye continued his attack after the bell until Taggart kicked him out of the ring. As Hubris and Ozymov tried to gather themselves, Mid-Knight and Ulencio hit the scene and picked up right where One Eye had left off as the crowd booed them heinously! After about 30 seconds of the fan favorites getting some payback on their rivals, Taggart and security officials were able to restore order.
ROCKMAN: “I’d still like to know why Ozymov went after Ulencio in the first place. This is strange. I’m not sure Ulencio even knows himself but he’s sure not waiting around to find out! These Russians sure stand behind their own as they didn’t like seeing Ozymov get attacked one bit!”RED GUARD VS. TORO MOLDAVO & ZARIUSScar pinned Moldavo after a POWERTRIP (falling powerslam from second turnbuckle).

DUCE: “Ladies and gentlemen, at this time would you please welcome to the ring, the WGX Heavyweight Champion, Captain Fear!!!”The crowd exploded as the “NFL On CBS Theme” began to play and the champion made his way down the aisle and through the ropes…
DUCE: “Well, I believe that a big congratulations are in order!”FEAR: “Thank you very much Duce.”DUCE: “How does it feel to be the first ever WGX Champion!”FEAR: “I have to be honest with you Duce. It’s a double edge sword. Believe me, it’s a great feeling to be the first champion, but now the pressure is on as I’m a marked man. Everybody else in the company wants this [holds belt up].”DUCE: “Absolutely. I’m sure all the injuries you sustained during the tournament aren’t helping the stress of being the champion either.”FEAR: “It’s been a couple weeks so the minor injuries are starting to heal, but the doctors haven’t cleared me to wrestle again yet because of the concussions.”DUCE: “The concussions as a result of the vicious attacks by One Eye.”FEAR: “You got it Duce. Of course wrestling 4 matches in one night didn’t help either.”DUCE: “So, when you do return, who will get the first title shot?”FEAR: “It’s not up to me; it’s up to Mr. Crosby, but I think that Oblivion deserves a rematch from the tournament finals. While I don’t really appreciate his tactics or attitude that much, I respect his talent in the ring.”DUCE: “Would you give One Eye a title shot just to get him back in the ring?”FEAR: “Hell no. He doesn’t deserve to be within 100 miles of this belt. He’s not a wrestler; he’s a thug, plan and simple. I want to make this title as prestigious as I can, and giving him a shot would make it seem no more valuable than a hood ornament.”DUCE: “Anything else you’d like to say to the fans?”FEAR: “I just want to thank all of you for getting behind me in the tournament. You guys really helped carry me to winning it. I hope I can make you proud by being a great champion.”With that, the champion left the ring to another huge pop…
WGX TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT FINALS
HUBRIS & OZYMOV VS. RED GUARDWGX owner Wayne Crosby brought the WGX Tag Team Championship Belts out to Senior Referee Mark Taggart. “The Red” by Chevelle played and the Red Guard made their way to the ring with sheer confidence. Next, “Lex Luger’s Narcissist Theme” trumpeted through the arena as a seriously hurt Ozymov and Hubris stumblesd their way down the aisle. After the introductions were made by ring announcer Dennis Holmes, Taggart showed the belts to all of the competitors, then he held them up in the air to signify that the titles were on the line in this match. Crosby then sat at ringside with the belts.
The bout was pretty much a slow death for Hubris and Ozymov. Scar hit a POWERTRIP on Hubris early on but Ozymov jumped in and raked his eyes in making the save. The Russian managed to hit the FANTASTIC VOYAGE (shooting star senton) on Scar which amazed the crowd, but he kicked out. Scar turned things back in his team’s favor, and 2 POWERTRIPs in a row on Ozymov were the final nails in the coffin.

MATCH RATING: 2½ StarsCrosby then walked into the ring and presented the championship belts to Oblivion and Scar and told them “job well done men”. Then the winners scaled opposite corners and raised the belts high to a mixed crowd reaction and as hundreds of camera flashes went off throughout the arena…
DUCE: “Wow! Scar won the match and the titles for his team all by himself, as Oblivion never even entered the ring!”ROCKMAN: “Yeah but Oblivion is a tough son of a gun for making it to the finals of both tournaments!”DUCE: “Well ladies and gentlemen, we now have both of our first champions crowned here in the WGX! Don’t forget to tune in again 2 weeks from tonight, because I’ve just been informed that the main event will be a singles match between Kalisto and One Eye!”ROCKMAN: “Nice!”DUCE: “We will see you then folks!
