Quick HTML Reference Guide
This will be a general reference on how to use Proboard relevant HTML Codes when posting images and links. This will cover some of the basics.
Code For Creating a Word Link
Note that in reality there would be NO SPACES in the code below (I had to space it out so it shows as an example)
Text
Here's how it works:
1. Find the link you want to use. In this example: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YK6CGtViWg8
2. Put the [url = in the front of the link url (no spaces...everything in the code would be together)
3. Put ] after the end of the link
4. After the ] type in the text you want to appear
5. At the end of the text just put in
Below is an example, first using spaces (so it shows) and then done properly without spaces:
Test
Link
Done properly without spaces:
Test Link
This simple code will allow you to turn any 'text' message you want to type into a direct link.

Linking Through An Image
The following technique can be used to post an image and then have the image 'click to' a specific location.
First, the code to post images would be:
[ IMG ] Link Address [ /IMG ]
An example, first with spaces in the code for display purposes, and then showing what the code 'without spaces' would generate:
[ IMG ] i50.photobucket.com/albums/f324/LWPD/banner-01a2.jpg
[ /IMG ]
Now lets say I want the above image to be able to 'link to' somewhere in cyberspace. In this case I want the above banner to act as a direct link. The code to accomplish this would be as follows:
[ url= URL HERE ] [ IMG ] IMAGE [ /IMG ]
* Again spaces are only for demonstration purposes only.
Essentially you're placing the web address that you want to link to 'after' the [ url = and 'before' the ] and then placing the image info between the [ IMG ] and the [ /IMG ] [ /url ]. Spaced out for demo purposes the code would like this:
[ url = tinyurl.com/4fs9z6 ] [ IMG ]
i50.photobucket.com/albums/f324/LWPD/banner-01a2.jp
g [ /IMG ] [ /url ]
Without spaces the code creates this image link:
If you click the banner it will take you to the url linked with-in the code.

How To Build Anchored Links
Anchored links will allow a poster to link to a specific location with-in a thread. This can be helpful when one wants to allow readers to access specific thread content quickly.
1. With-in each thread, at the bottom right of a given post is a prompt that reads 'Link to Post'.
2. If you right click said prompt and select 'Properties' the URL Address for that specific thread will appear.
3. To capture the address right click over the address and click 'select all'.
4. You now have access to the url of that specific post with-in the thread. You can now link to said material using either a direct copy and paste of the address, or turn it into a word link or even an image link.
* Note if you are going to build a lengthy Table of Content with recurring anchored links in one post location, converting targeted links into smaller url addresses can add to the life of a continuous listing given post size limits.
The site tinyurl.com/ can quickly convert and shorten any pasted url.
