In real pro wrestling, cage matches are one of the most brutal matches there is, generally used to settle bitter feuds. I guess I don't really get that feel with the cage matches in LOW/COTG. To me, the cage is just there to keep people from interfering, and you use a different PIN number, thats about it. I just get the feeling that you have to use the barbed wire steel cage, or the Texas Death Match rules to get the desired brutality I want out of a cage match. Maybe I am alone on this, but I guess that is how I feel on that. I was thinking about trying a house rule to spice it up: On any result of "Rammed into Steel Cage-3", roll one die. Even number, play as normal. Odd number, make that an "Add 1" move. Ive had a couple of cage matches recently where they end where not even 1 of the 2 guys is bleeding, and I guess it got me thinking on this topic. Any ideas/opinions on this would be awesome.

I think Tom always had the vision of the WW(W)F cage matches where it was the first one to escape.
Growing up with Memphis and the NWA, which was more brutal and was basically the best man win. That's how I've always made my cage matches...

If you're looking to add more depth and drama to the standard cage match you may want to go to the archive and check out Big Bri's Cage Escape Rules. He does a great job expanding upon elements like Escaping Through The Door and Escaping Over The Cage by offering separate charts for each. Just below that is a separate Cage Save Chart which adds an outside interference element into the mix. Between both charts you can have a fairly comprehensive cage match experience.
