I'm going to attempt to chronicle my New Beginnings promotion. I think one mistake I've made in the past when I've done this, is I tried to be too in-depth. I attempted to recount every show, and do write-ups for every event. Not going to happen here. I've been playing quite a lot since I realized my COTG Online account was active, and I've come up with a way to run the promotion that I never would have been able to attempt in dice form.
Every week, there will be a "Battlezone Holovision" event, aka my TV show. In addition to that, every week there will be one to two "house show" events with less importance and theoretically lesser stars. There will also be one big event per month. So, at most, about...three shows a week times fifty two weeks plus twelve events...god I suck at math...168 events per year. Quite a lot of shows. I've never done anything on this scale before.
At the end of every month, I'll update this thread with the news of the promotion. How quick will those updates be? I don't know. I finished January 2119 already, but I doubt I'll keep up that pace for long. It does help that I can run an event in about ten minutes or so.
This will be more or less a "journal" type situation. I've never been big on storylines or anything in my promotions, so I won't even attempt those. Just a recap of the major events in the promotion, and if you want to see my events in detail they are of course on COTG Online to be checked out.
One thing I'm already discovering, about...twelve cards in, is that with the roster as it is, I'm already doing many matches repeatedly. This is very noticeable in the tag team ranks where there are about...eight or so active teams. Tristan and Antak artificially inflate the number since they are in two tag teams, but all it does it confuse the situation (try playing without going through the booklet after months away and try to keep track of which team Antak is with Minotaur in. NOT FUN.), so many of the teams just keep wrestling each other. Not much I can do, really. I'd make custom teams, but I believe there's no way to delete custom teams on COTG Online, and there's no teams I really want to make that I'd be willing to have locked in my database forever.
My champions do not wrestle outside of an odd six man. I don't do non-title matches, and I don't have them appear in matches basically at all. My philosophy has always been that my champions are my champions, they get paid more, and they get to sit around more. If I did interviews, they'd do them, but why would they have to wrestle? People gotta *pay* for my title matches.
With all that said, let's see how many updates I'll get into before I abandon this.
