Welcome to “In The Zone” for the third week of November, 2119. There’s only two weeks left until UPRISING so there needs to be some major groundwork done to build up the PPV, but after the mysterious ending to last week’s episode on Aethra, some other major questions need to be answered.
Why did Disaster attack Paralyze?
Has he aligned himself with Tom Filsinger?
If so, how do you explain his shit in alliance with the man who was responsible for his kidnapping?
Let’s see if tonight provides any answers….
Main Storyline
…
……
……….
REACH OUT AND TOUCH FAITH!!!
The show starts as Marilyn Manson’s ‘Personal Jesus’ hits. Switchblade struts out to the ring and the crowd gives him major heat. Switchblade grabs a mic, talking about how successful his career has become since his change in attitutude:
“I get the big feuds….I appear in all the main events…I hang out with the biggest stars….I get the coolest merchandise…hell, I’m the only man in the last eight months to pin Endgame cleanly…and tonight, IN THIS VERY RING, I will finally get my revenge on the man who took away eight months of my life…all because I stopped being Mr. Nice Guy.
Sure I had to be a little rough with my mom, (the crowd boos) but you gotta do what you gotta do. I mean, my brother was a Nice Guy and look where it got him!!!”
The crowd seems a bit stunned by the shocking remarks, but not for long: Lorelei comes storming out to the ring!!!
Switchblade’s mother looks like she’s going to tear her son apart, but halfway down the ramp, she gets stopped by GWF Security. Switchblade has them “remove her” from the arena.
Later in the night, we get a scene of Lorelei being thrown out of Red Ice Arena. And both Bloodline and Switchblade get worked up for their match with help from their respective teammates.
The main event kicks off and Bloodline starts off on absolute fire. He pummels Switchblade early and very nearly finishes things quickly with a swinging DDT. But Blade slows things down outside the ring and is able to gradually stop Bloodline’s momentum. Blade hits a giant clothesline out of the turnbuckle then gets a two-count with a shining wizard. After a few minutes in the Centaurus Leg Lock, Bloodline is clearly in trouble.
DragonMaster: Switchblade is totally in control. He may have expended too much energy early in the match.
Vanity: Yeah, it’s always embarrassing when you get excited, fire off your best shots, and then you wind up finished waaaaaay too early.
DM: …
Vanity: What?
Switchblade connects with a top rope leg drop for another two-count. Another vicious kick for another near fall. Switchblade gets incredibly frustrated and ends up going into his jacket looking for a blade. He maneuvers himself so that the referee is sandwiched between both men, and then slashes at Bloodline’s face as the referee’s vision is blocked!!!
The crowd begins pelting the ring with trash. The referee goes to check on Bloodline. With a cocky grin on his face, Switchblade leans in one of the corner….when Lorelei comes charging out of the audience!!!
Lorelei rolls into the ring and confronts her son. Switchblade goes to smack her, and Lorelei blocks the slap and then delivers a VICIOUS kick to the groin!!!
Lorelei escapes the ring. Switchblade is down on the ground. Bloodline gets to his feet, and with blood running down his face climbs to the top turnbuckle…COSMIC BIG BANG!!! 1….2….3!!!!
Bloodline wins a phenomenal match and then staggers off with Lorelie supporting him. Switchblade recovers and grabs a mic:
“Damn you…you….YOU B*TCH!! Bloodline, you and I have another date at UPRISING! And mom, if you step even one foot into the arena…I can promise you…YOU …WILL….BE…FIRRRRRRED!!!”
In Other Action
--The other big segment of the night was the contract signing between Anarchy and Endgame. Tom Filsinger accompanied The Brymstone Bad-Ass to the ring and – like every contract signing in the history of the business – things quickly got ugly. Endgame punched Tom in the face, sending him spilling out over the tope rope. Anarchy grabbed the champ from behind and lifted him up into a GEHENNA’S GATE. But Endgame broke the hold and floated behind Anarchy and began firing overhand rights at the bigger challenger. Endgame was one the verge of sending Anarchy over the ropes himself, when GWF Security hit the ring at the behest of GWF’s Evil Owner.
Tom ordered the guards to grab Endgame. Ram didn’t look happy, but he did as he was told. Seven guards put the boots to the champion and then lifted him to his feet, arms behind him. This allowed Anarchy to step forward…goozle!...CHOKE SLAME THOURGH THE CONTRACT SIGNING PODIUM!!! Ooooh..that spot looked nasty. Ram rolls into the ring to check on Endgame.
Anarchy walks away, with Tom at his side, mocking the fallen Endgame.
--In an exciting rematch from last week’s Ground Zero, The Troubleshooters faced off with Meat Lover’s Special. Again, MLS was able to brawl their way into control of the match. And again, Phantasy interfered late to help her team out, But this time, things backfired and Phantasy ended up cracking her own man across the back with a steel chair! Minotaur follows quickly with a head butt to Muss!!! 1…2..Noooooo!!!
Minotaur backs up for a MINOTAUR’S CHARGE but Muss dives out of the way and Minotaur goes headfirst into the ring post!! Muss is back on his feet. MUSS EM UP FTW!!!!
After the match, Rush & havoc come up and give the champs a golf clap and signal that those tag titles would soon be around their waists.
--Speaking of Phantasy, the GWF’s resident bombshell scored an impressive win over Latasha, finishing things off with SWEET SUICIDE. After the match, Phantasy said that she would not only beat Shann Ra for the Women’s Title at UPRISING, but next week, she would beat Shann-Ra in a BIKINI CONTEST!!!!
--To confirm these title challenges, Commissioner Massif appeared from his office to announce the Title Matches for the PPV: The Troubleshooters would defend against Rush & Havoc thanks to their non-title victory on War Zone two weeks ago. Shann-Ra would defend against Phantasy thanks to her non-title victory on Ground Zero weeks back. And Sonny Owens would defend the Interplanetary Title against TANCK for “services rendered in assistance to our great owner, Tom Filsinger.”
Well, the writers may have screwed up Tanck’s push by jobbing him last week, but at least he’s going to get a boost from facing Owens at UPRISING.
--In a No DQ Match, Anivar made quick work of the septuagenarian Tauran, despite the fact that Tauran tried using every dirty trick and weapon he could get his hand on. Anivar finished things off with a FULL NELSON SLAM onto a chair. As the match ended, and Anivar played to the crowd, a frustrated looking Epoch stood on the top of the ramp, shaking his head.
--The fist ever Masterlock Challenge was a wild affair.
Thantos and his son, Encubus, stood in the ring, staring intensely at their challenger. Amazing Mann and Vin Strutter spent several minutes delaying the action before finally allowing Encubus to lock Mann into the hold. Mann rolled and writhed and seemed on the verge of escaping, when Encubus seemed to get a suge of energy and bore donw with everything he had. Mann was about to give up….when Strutter sprayed Encubus in the face with a green mist. This distraction was short-lived however, because Sly Drury rolled out from under the ring and attacked Strutter and Mann from behind with a steel chair. Thantos grabbed a mic
“Strutter, you clown, did you really think you could hope to surprise me? They don’t call me the GameMaster for my looks…(the crowd laughs in appreciation)..I knew you’d try something like this. That’s why Drury was waiting. Sly..get this buffoon out of here. Son….do it like I showed you..”
Drury drag Strutter up the ramp. The Showman throws a fit the whole time. Encubus reapplies The Masterlock. Mann writhes….he wriggles…HE GIVES UP!!!! Encubus plays to the crowd as Mann lays on the ground, holding his injured leg.
--Backstage, we get a glimpse of Disaster walking through the locker-room area. Thrash runs up to him:
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU??? We spent weeks trying to save you…how could you attack Paralyze like that?? Your our leader…we need you back. *I* need you back!!”
Disaster looks down at her…he shakes his head, seemingly confused. His eyes glaze over and he finally stares at Thrash like he’s seeing her for the first time.
“Thrash…? Wha-?”
But a bizarre high pitched sound is heard throughout the arena and Disaster suddenly looks confused again. The camera pans over, and an odd, yet somewhat familiar figure is lurking in the shadows, their face hidden by the dark. Disaster’s face cluds over again.
Thrash: “Di-..”
But Disaster uses one massive arm to send Thrash spilling to the ground and then heads towards the shadows, following the figure down the hall and to the loading bay area.
--Finally, Overtime was on his way to scoring another win over US Male with THE CLINCHER when he was attacked from behind by Swarm. The Loose Cannon was clearly angry after the beatings he’s taken at the hands of OT the last few weeks.
Swam pummeled Overtime, tossed him outside the ring, and then blasted him with a ring bell. The crowd was going nuts. Swarm grabs a Holo-Vid monitor…winds up…AND SHATTERS IT ACROSS OVERTIME’S BACK!!!
GWF Security rushes down to the ring and stops Swarm from inflicting any further damage. They grab him from behind and lead him away, Swarm kicking and shoving in retaliation.
Later that night, Tom Filsinger appears to say that, due to his actions and refusal to accept the authority of the Commissioner’s Office, Swarm has been suspended FOR THIRTY DAYS!!!!
Even more controversy as we head to the PPV!
Over-all: 7/10 Really, there were only two quality matches tonight. But there was TONS of actions, lots of wild run-ins, and a good chunk of the PPV was put into stone. The show did it’s job and it feels like War Zone is really in a good flow when it comes to telling a story.
