MY GOD! Hybrid destroyed an entire half of the competitors not to mention eliminating the Essence Champion in the end to claim the title. Hybrid + One Essence = Scary! Great card! It was crazy! When it began Hybrid was hitting everyone, but the match always rolled to someone else. At the mid-point of the match when it rolled back to him...WOW! He went nuts! That was a total surprise! Another surprise was how good Aspin Northstar really is. Had he not missed the FLASH OF BRILLIANCE I think he might have won. I think my favorite part of the whole thing was Hybrid's killer instinct; once only Godsend remained he went for the kill & didn't mess around. I'm really happy at the end result. |

Great write up you're sort of making me wish I'd taken ACE instead of POW That's the thing about the aCe is it is more story driven than any of the other feds. There is so much potential storyline to work with it brings out the storyteller in you. You will be telling great stories in the POW; don't worry. Just give yourself a few cards to start "feeling" some of the guys & the stories will build themselves. Of course, the dice will throw in their own twists from time to time too. Wow, Rankor and Ventross together? That'll sure be interesting!
Hybrid was impressive, but I'm not that surprised... I can't wait to see what he does with the essence now that he has it.

Card 1.01
Four Corners Coliseum
The show opens on Godsend ranting to Nightmare; Darkseed leans against the far wall, uninterested in the conversation.
Godsend: “I don’t understand why I wasn’t able to sunder the ESSENCE. As I stood there I tried to break it & destroy creation but some unseen force prevented me.”
Nightmare: “Is it possible that the Keeper prevented you breaking the ESSENCE?”
Godsend: “No, I would have sensed it. If I had to put words to what it felt like, I would say that I didn’t have enough power to complete the sundering.”
Nightmare: “Vallah believed you had the power to break it.”
Godsend: “It’s a good thing too, otherwise the Dominion would be back in the Fifth Realm…I have it; I know where we can get power sufficient to break the universe.”
Nightmare: “Where?”
Godsend: “We will claim the power of Primus itself. (To Darkseed) Bring me the head of Paganax. I have to reclaim the ESSENCE tonight.”
AVARICE vs. LANCE AT-LAS
- Lance controlled the entire match but a late turn around & his inability to catch the more agile Avarice cost him. The Black Rose locked on the Blackheart Lock & set himself up for the perfect 7TH SIN finish.
WINNER: AVARICE with 7TH SIN.
Image shifts to the Ventross & Rankor addressing a platoon of Ravager soldiers.
Ventross: "I want you to take Nicodemus into custody after his match."
Rankor: "He will be expecting that Ventross."
Ventross: "I’m aware Rankor; once the match begins we will be blocking all transportation waves to prevent his escape. We must detain Nicodemus."
PENDRAGON vs. TOTALIS
- Pendragon was clearly dominant but missed a corner charge & Totalis rolled him up for a nearfall; Pendragon barely escaped. After that, Totalis used a Bracket Buster to set up the FINAL ROUND for the win.
WINNER: TOTALIS with FINAL ROUND.
Nicodemus appears in the middle of the ring; appearing out of thin air. The Ravager crowd fell absolutely silent at his appearance & several security personnel moved into position around the ring. Nicodemus only smiled at their appearance.
NEUROMANCER vs. NICODEMUS
- This was a sick match! Nicodemus repeatedly hammered at Neuro but couldn’t keep him down; Neuro hit multiple high impact moves & Nicodemus couldn’t counter. Nicodemus hit a big spinebuster & allowed Neuro to slip out to the floor; he baited Nicodemus out to the floor & smashed him into the ringpost. Neuro hit a tope suicida into the concrete floor & drug Nicodemus back inside for the pinfall.
WINNER: NEUROMANCER with a tope suicida.
The Ravager soldiers stormed the ring but Nicodemus activated a device at his waist & he again vanished from sight. The Ravagers paused, confused & then investigated where Nicodemus once stood. Ventross came down with a scanner & scanned the residual energy signatures left in the ring & then headed for the back. Rankor stood at the top of the ramp, smiling widely.
SPEAK OF THE DEVIL MATCH
MACK CALIBUR vs. HUSTLER
- These two went all out; Calibur wanted to avenge a “perceived” slight by Hustler & Hustler wanted to put Mack in his place. Calibur drew first blood with Glass Knucks; Hustler responded with Pistol Whip. Mack came off the ropes with a huge flying tackle & then missed a corner charge & Hustler ended it quickly with SKULL CAP.
WINNER: HUSTLER with SKULL CAP.
Hustler pulled Mack up by the hair & smashed his nose with a final punch before leaving him in a pool of his own blood.
PAGANAX vs. DARKSEED
- Darkseed attacked but Paganax hit him with a chop block on the way in & never let up. Guillotine lariats, decimating choke slams & Face Smotherings set up PAGAN VOID. Darkseed never got an offensive move in.
WINNER: PAGANAX with PAGAN VOID.
Image shifts to the ruins of Antilia...we see the skeletal hand reach out of the ground...it presses against the ground & an arm, then a shoulder emerge from the ground…a head is next, it belongs to: NOXIOUS!
ESPERANTO vs. ZETA GREY
- This was a brutal match; Esperanto wanted to injure Grey & Grey took every blow & gave back equally in return. Most of this fight took place around the ring; ringposts, railings & ringside steps. Grey really turned the tide with an amazing suicide cross body block that Esperanto nearly didn’t recover from. Grey rammed him into the ringpost & rolled him back inside for a leg drop off the turnbuckle; SHADES OF GREY followed for the tough win. We haven’t seen the last of these two.
WINNER: ZETA GREY with SHADES OF GREY.
AMAZING MANN vs. NIGHTMARE
- Every time that Mann had Nightmare in a bad position, Nightmare slipped away & left the ring to regroup; on the floor, Nightmare took control. Nightmare closed the show with a string of nearfalls; ankle lock, Black Magic, ankle lock, MINDBENDER & a blast of mist. Mann was out of it when the second MINDBENDER hit & it was over.
WINNER: NIGHTMARE with MINDBENDER.
aCe ESSENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
HYBRID ( c ) vs. GODSEND
- Godsend jumped him & had him in HELL’S THRESHOLD but Hybrid picked him up in a bear hug & charged the ropes; dove over them & smashed Godsend into the ringside railing. The referee quickly called for the disqualification.
WINNER: GODSEND by DISQUALIFICATION
HYBRID is still the aCe ESSENCE CHAMPION[/b].
Hybrid stops at the top of the ramp & raises the aCe ESSENCE for all to see...Godsend slaps the mat in frustration & motions for Hybrid to come back to the ring...Hybrid laughs & heads into the back, dragging the ESSENCE behind him.
(Fade to black)
(End of show)

Great card!
Leave it to me to underestimate the newer guys. I thought for sure Nicodemus would hand Neuromancer his ass.
I like the angle with Nicodemus/Ventross/Rankor, looking forward to seeing where this goes.
The emergence of Noxious means trouble for the aCe.
I voted for Godsend but honestly I'm glad to see Hybrid come away with the title even though Godsend won. This one should lead to a good feud.
