Before the ninth day of the tournament could take place, it was announced that Aspin Northstar had suffered too many injuries to continue in the tournament from Avarice...Because of this, the rest of Aspin's tournament matches have been forfeited and added to the wrestler's point tallies. Mr. Bloat, Ventross, and Totalis all receive five points.
Pendragon's tournament hopes are now over, after Shepard scored the "upset" in the opening tournament match of the night. Shepard was all over Pendragon from the opening bell before putting him down with an atomic elbow. With this loss, the highest Pendragon can amass point wise would be 27, which would not catch Ventross or Paganax.
No one wants to finish in the bottom of the bracket, and Totalis and Lance At-Las were fighting more for pride then anything else...In the end, Totalis's superior wrestling abilities led him to victory, as he's finally seeing the success that has avoided him thus far in the tournament.
Ventross, despite having disadvantages in both power and agility came to fight with Paganax, and used every tactic that he has to try and stop the Pagan leader. Ventross had Paganax reeling with Severed Ties, and Ventross Vivisection, but he couldn't hand Paganax the killing blow...However, with just seventeen seconds left in the match before time limit came, Paganax landed the Pagan Void out of nowehere, and Ventross couldn't beat the count!
The Amazing Mann and Avarice went back and forth for nearly thirty minutes, until Amazing Mann locked Avarice in his Unbreakable hold! Avarice fought the hold valiantly but finally passed out from the pain giving Amazing Mann the five point victory, and ended Avarice's tournament's hopes.
All Centra Entertainment Card #9 ~ Tour #1 CENTRA CUP
1. CENTRA CUP: Shepard defeated Pendragon at 2:32 with an atomic elbow. 2. CENTRA CUP: Mr. Bloat defeated Aspin Northstar by forfeit 3. CENTRA CUP: Totalis defeated Lance At-Las at 17:13 with Bracket Buster 4. CENTRA CUP: Paganax defeated Ventross at 29:43 with Pagan Void 5. CENTRA CUP: Amazing Mann defeated Avarice at 27:21 with Unbreakable
Points 1. Paganax [37]
2. Ventross [32]
3. Amazing Mann [31]
4. Mr. Bloat [25] 5. Avarice [24] 6. Godsend [20] 7. Pendragon [17]
8. Totalis [14]
9. Shepard [12]
10. Lance At-Las [7]
11. Aspin Northstar [5]
After nine tournament events, the field has been narrowed considerably. With today's loss, Pendragon has eliminated himself from the running. Avarice has eliminated himself as well due to not having a match on night ten. Godsend, Totalis, Shepard, Lance At-Las and Aspin Northstar are likewise out of the running. However, with two more events there are still four people in the running for the two spots. Paganax has a commanding lead that due to elimination means he has already made the semi finals and "won" the group stage. Ventross has a one point lead over Amazing Mann due to his forfeit victory over Aspin Northstar, however he only has one more match in the tournament, against Godsend. Amazing Mann has a bye on night ten, but has a tournament match against Mr. Bloat on Night 11 which could have major ramifications. Mr. Bloat is in a position to sweep into the finals due to having tournament matches on both night ten and night eleven. Bloat has Godsend, and then Amazing Mann. If he wins both, and Ventross loses against Godsend then Bloat will have a "perfect storm" into the finals.
The final two nights are below, to give TEH READER~! an idea of what's left.
Night 10
1. CENTRA CUP: Pendragon vs. Avarice 2. CENTRA CUP: Shepard vs. Lance At-Las 3. CENTRA CUP: Totalis vs. Paganax 4. CENTRA CUP: Godsend vs. Mr. Bloat 5. CENTRA CUP: Ventross vs. Aspin Northstar
Night 11
1. CENTRA CUP: Pendragon vs. Lance At-Las 2. CENTRA CUP: Shepard vs. Paganax 3. CENTRA CUP: Amazing Mann vs. Mr. Bloat 4. CENTRA CUP: Totalis vs. Aspin Northstar 5. CENTRA CUP: Godsend vs. Ventross 6. CENTRA CUP FINALS: Paganax vs. X

All Centra Entertainment Card #10 ~ Tour #1 CENTRA CUP
1. CENTRA CUP: Avarice defeated Pendragon at 15:54 with 7th Sin 2. CENTRA CUP: Shepard fought Lance At-Las to a 30:00 draw 3. CENTRA CUP: Paganax defeated Totalis at 6:47 with Pagan Void 4. CENTRA CUP: Godsend defeated Mr. Bloat at 14:21 with Hell's Threshold 5. CENTRA CUP: Ventross defeated Aspin Northstar by forfeit
Points 1. Paganax [42]
2. Ventross [32]
3. Amazing Mann [31]
4. Avarice [29] 5. Mr. Bloat [25] 6. Godsend [25] 7. Pendragon [17]
8. Totalis [14]
9. Shepard [14]
10. Lance At-Las [9]
11. Aspin Northstar [5]
The tournament has come down to three wrestlers with one event left. Paganax has had a finals spot clinches for several shows, however Amazing Mann and Ventross are dueling to see who will take him on. Amazing Mann has to get by Mr. Bloat, while Ventross has to get by Godsend. If both win, then Ventross advances due to his one point advantage. Avarice has no more tournament matches, and is eliminated, while Mr. Bloat's loss to Godsend ends his tournament hopes. With one show left, for eight wrestlers it is their final chance for bragging rights.
----
At the start of the tournament, there were many favorites. Amazing Mann, Godsend, Shepard, but out of all of them, it is doubtful that many predicted that the finals of the CENTRA CUP would come down to Paganax, who sweep the group stage of the tournament, and made it to the finals with a 9-0-1 record, his sole blemish being a draw against Amazing Mann. His opponent in the finals would be... Ventross! Ventross was able to down Godsend, while Amazing Mann came up short against Mr. Bloat ending his tournament dreams. Paganax and Ventross clashed on Night 9 of the tournament, with Paganax barely edging out the Ravager. The two waged war for over twenty minutes, and despite the offense piling up on Paganax, Ventross was the constant disadvantage due to both his power and strength disadvantage. However, Ventross fought on with the heart of a true fighter, and never backed down from the awe inspiring power and ferocity of Paganax. The fans of aCe rallied behind Ventross as he had Paganax reeling. Two Mercy Killings, but the monster wouldn't fall. Ventross Vivisection dimmed the lights for Paganax...and the Severed Ties sealed the deal, and handed Paganax his ONLY loss in the entire tournament, when it meant the most! Members of the Six gathered in the ring to celebrate with Ventross after his win...Ventross attempted to give Paganax a gesture of friendship after their bout, but the Pagan Chieftan went berserk before attacking the Six and leaving the ring area...Ventross's celebration was crashed when Mr. Bloat made an appearence...Bloat, in his disgusting way reminded everyone that he had defeated Ventross in the group stages...a claim that no one else could make except for Paganax, who had just been defeated...However, before Bloat could get too far, a third voice was heard as Avarice showed up on the scene. Making sure to primp his hair before speaking, Avarice stated that since Ventross hadn't beaten him either (they drew) that means HE should be the number one contender! Bloat reminded Avarice that he had personally beaten him as well, but Avarice simply stated that the victory meant nothing since he had been ill on that day, and wasn't able to wrestle at 10% of his abilities...Before hostilities could result, Lance At-Las attempted to smooth over the situation, saying that on the next tour, Avarice and Mr. Bloat could have a return match with the winner receiving the first title shot...All parties agreed, and the match was made!
It was also revealed the plans to hold a TAG TEAM version of the Centra Cup to crown the Tag holders of the Essence! The tournament wouldn't happen immediately, to give fans a chance to have a "cool down period" but that it would be soon, possibly after the next tour was over.
All Centra Entertainment Card #11 ~ Tour #1 CENTRA CUP
1. CENTRA CUP: Lance At-Las defeated Pendragon at 13:17 with Mars Mandhandler 2. CENTRA CUP: Paganax defeated Shepard at 15:52 with Pagan Void 3. CENTRA CUP: Mr. Bloat defeated Amazing Mann at 17:32 with Cruel and Unusual 4. CENTRA CUP: Totalis defeated Aspin Northstar by forfeit 5. CENTRA CUP: Ventross defeated Godsend at 13:26 with Mercy Killing 6. CENTRA CUP FINALS: Ventross defeated Paganax at 23:17 with Severed Ties to become the 1st Essence Champion
Points 1. Paganax [47]
2. Ventross [37]
3. Amazing Mann [31]
4. Mr. Bloat [30] 5. Avarice [29] 6. Godsend [25] 7. Pendragon [17]
8. Totalis [14]
9. Shepard [14] Lance At-Las [14]
11. Aspin Northstar [5]
This is the final tally of the tournament. Paganax nearly had a complete victory in the tournament, but a draw to Amazing Mann kept him from achieving it. Ventross was a dark horse, and in the end was able to seal himself in the finals. Amazing Mann came close to his goal, but a crushing loss in the final night to Mr Bloat sealed it. Despite failing to reach the finals, it has to be considered a good tournament for both Avarice and Mr. Bloat. Bloat's one dimensional style served him well, while Avarice showed cunning, determination, stamina, and ferocity in all his matches. Godsend finished with five wins out of ten matches.

nice stuff Hawk. glad to see you're still playing...through I'm sorry to hear your 'classic era' GWF in in mothballs (just like mine!).
I'm hoping this new MARTIAL LAW set will get me going again...
How come you never got into New Beginning?

New Beginning just didn't do anything for me. At least the initial set. It just felt like 2087 with add ones and vastly stronger cards. I had already played through 2087 once, I didn't really want to relive it. You even had the Nosfera/Bishop Hell thing going in the second set after the relaunch.
Then again, I didn't really give it much of a chance. I had it for awhile, tried playing it, but then sold it to BDS and Holly when they helped me out of a financial situation (No money for X-Mas that year, and was selling stuff).
When I first saw aCe I had no interest either...but I've slowly become accepting. Had I had NB longer, who knows what would have happened.
I've got POW too, a LOW fed, and my own bootleg fed called JGP, but I only have the attention span for one. So I'm sticking with aCe right now.

It's been an absolutely nuts month. This is the first aCe show I've ran since the last one.
The first regular show in the new aCe saw a relatively unimportant show take place.
The big news was Mr. Bloat scoring a direct victory over the man he'll face later in the tour to decide the #1 contender to Ventross's Essence championship, as Bloat defeated Avarice with the Cruel and Unusual. Bloat was highly violent in the match, using all his cruel tactics to take the match...Avarice, who bled in the match swore that he'd get revenge on Bloat for scaring his perfect face in the match...
Exodus and Gabriel scored an important victory against Omni and Odyssey in what could be a sample of the tag tournament to come. The Angels dominated the match throughout, and it's a testament to the strength of Omni and Odyssey that they didn;t go down easily. However, they were no match for the combined power of the two, and Exodus finished off Odyssey with the Wrath of God.
All Centra Entertainment Card #12 ~ Tour #2

Esperanto, Hustler & Scorch defeated Totalis, Witchdoctor & Scud at 9:32 when Esperanto pinned Totalis with Painkiller 5. Mr. Bloat & Painmaster defeated Avarice & Nes Kincade at 15:28 when Bloat pinned Avarice with Cruel and Unusual 6. Paganax, Warfare & Hybrid defeated Darkseed, Godsend & Nightmare at 17:32 when Warfare pinned Godsend with a cross body press 7. Ventross, Lance At-Las & Aspin Northstar defeated Amazing Mann, Flatliner & Holocaust at 20:12 when Ventross pinned Flatliner with Mercy Killing
