PWG's annual major tournament the Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA) takes place later this month on Saturday August 20th and for the third straight year I will be sitting in the front row for BOLA. This year the tournament is only 1 day instead of its usual multi-day format, but the lineup is incredible as the 8 participants include: Steen, PWG's current champion Hero and Claudio, perhaps making their final PWG appearances before possibly leaving for the WWE Finlay, making a special appearance for PWG Edwards, the most recent ROH champion Strong, another recent ROH champion El Generico, the only wrestler to simultaneously hold the PWG World Championship and the PWG World Tag Team Championship and considered by some to be the favorite to win this tournament Mack, perhaps the fastest rising star on PWG's roster These are the brackets: Hero vs Mack Claudio vs El Generico Edwards vs Strong Steen vs Finlay This year, the winner gets to pick any future match he wants in PWG. Who do you think will win the Battle of Los Angeles 2011?

Looks like a great tournament. I'm going with Roderick Strong but I don't know why. Just a gut feeling. Have fun at the show, Vegas

I voted for Eddie Edwards.
the non-tournament tag match was announced tonight via PWG's new Twitter: RockNES Monsters vs The Dynasty in a rematch from Eight with the winner facing the Young Bucks for the PWG World Tag Team Championship at PWG's following show on Sept 10th.

I can't wait for this show tonight! With the possible exception of Chris Hero vs Willie Mack (who alot of people nevertheless think might win this tournament as PWG's fastest rising star,) any of the other First Round matches (El Generico/Claudio Castagnoli, Eddie Edwards/Roderick Strong, and Kevin Steen/Dave Finlay) alone could be main event matches at most other top Indy feds. Since I believe this will likely be the last time I ever see Hero and Claudio at a PWG show, I think once again I am going to wear my red KOW shirt to the show tonight.

Tonight's results:
Mack over Hero
Steen over Finlay
Generico over Claudio
Edwards over Strong
Dynasty over RockNES Monsters in a number one contender's match
Steen over Mack
Generico over Edwards
Young Bucks over KOW
Generico over Steen to win BOLA 2011
Unfortunatly Finlay was not around after the show. But, now that there is going to be a steady release of LOTF cards (I am really excited about these PDFs!,) I did make my first signings since January by signing some PWG wrestlers not already signed.
I will post more of a recap when I get home tomorrow to Las Vegas and my computer. I am not really good at typing here on my IPad.
