How about we put our chat on the direction of the coming POW set into numbers?
P.S. That should read "play both/either"

If I'm reading correctly through the lines the real question is POW MMA or nothing? So I'm going with POW MMA. I would anyways. It gives POW it's own thing and it's awesome.

As AWESOME as POW would be as just MMA, I still like the option of either wrestling or MMA.

I think Swarm has a point so I went with MMA only.

I prefer the wrestling so I voted to have the option of both.

I can certainly see the very wise business decision of making it MMA only (and spinning off a LOW type MMA game). It only makes sense. I'm not a fan of MMA and if it did go MMA only, I would probably not continue from that point.
I would, as I always do, buy the sets as I believe in supporting FG in all of it's incarnations.

I think that's key though, Grant. If it goes entirely MMA, will enough people buy it to make it worth producing? We already know the sales aren't as high as GWF or Legends (which is only natural) specializing it further might grow it or it might have the opposite effect. Personally, if it went MMA only, I'd drop it as I simply don't have enough interest in MMA to do so despite enjoying Mark's writing a lot.

You know what, over the years I would say one of my favorite friends I have made thru this game is Mark (we do share the same bday afterall) and I think the decision should really be his. I have loved his stuff when I got the CPC sets in the past. He has a great style and if he is okay going the MMA route that's great.
More then likely like I said in another post I actually think this is a marketing idea to bring younger people in possibly. I can't remember who I had the discussion with at Galacticon but we talked about how its the usual same faces every year and not a new younger crowd and I think is why POW will head that way. And Mark is a great choice to do this.I really hope this sells like crazy and catches on.
Second, WHY would this be the end of storylines? Look at the UFC its full of storylines! Look at boxing, full of storylines. Think about it we could have fighter camps hating each other and storylines stemming from there. Trainers could talk trash saying how all their fighters dominate the ranks and such.Don't think wrestlers wouldn't try their hand at a "real" version of the sport. Look at Lesnar, Lashley and now maybe Batista (prolly not but who knows) - who's to say some of these wrestlers try and prove their really something. I'm even saying the Jester could stick around forming a group that still performs a little and talks trash.
Anyway, I just thought I would post because in all this no one has asked what does Mark wanna do? He is the creator somewhat and he "runs this fed.". I say good luck my friend and I know whatever happens that you will put forth an awesome product that people will enjoy. Some people perhaps are a little afraid of change, but this could be a change for the good. Just you wait and see cause I know Mark will not let anyone down.

Would enough people buy it make it worth producing? It seems to have worked, albeit over a LONG time. Plus, and I'm speaking totally out of my hinder here, I don't think P.O.W. has been marketed to MMA fans (outside this board). I see no reason why it wouldn't catch on with fans of the sport the way the GWF has with us wrestling fans. But where I see the advantage is the steam Tom has behind Legends. If he can make some signings from the MMA world and make an initial set, who knows? Maybe start it like Legends started, a few cards at a time, then a 24 card set. Start simple, make a card for Dan Severn. He'd be like the King Kong Bundy of the LOMMA world.

I think you can still do storylines. Just think of it as wrestling but falls don't count and can't use things like chairs at all and unfortunately no dqs. I think the problem is marketing. Tom pushes Legends and GWF. The other things are other peoples babies. Get a few guys like Severn on who you already have in the wrestling game and start building from there. Throw a POW add in a MMA magazine like I remember seeing GWF ones in PWI.
