Okay, so for those of you who have been reading my WWF 1985 Re-Booking, you know that Hogan is out after breaking his leg. If you have not, then please go check it out: filsingergames.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=fed2&action=display&thread=1152So, the question is, what should Vince McMahon do, now that his worst nightmare has just happened! The options are: 1. Promote from within: Push someone to the top face position that is already on the roster and who could be a huge star--- It won't be Rusty Brooks..sorry. 2. Bring in an up and comer: Someone like Magnum TA, who was becoming a big star, but was not quite there yet. 3. Bring back a former star/champion: Backlund, Graham, etc.. Bring someone back who has been the top guy. This could include taking Pedro Morales out of a lesser role. 4. Raid another territory: Go into a smaller territory and take the top young talent and try to build that way. 5. Take the top star from another territory: Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, etc... one big star to replace Hogan. Help me out with any opinions or thoughts...and, of course, your votes!

If I go that route, then the question becomes who to take? I mean, in 1985 would Dusty even come to NY? How about Flair? Or Do you grab DiBiase and make him a face? Magnum TA is an up and comer and could be a top star, but is he ready?

You must take the American Dream, if you wheel and let him not be the a polka dotted job man carrying a plunger but the Dream jack that carries the heartbeat of America to ring with him in every arena in this country and all around the world.
Let's get funky like a monkey!

I have been weighing out every option and everything has pro's and con's. I started lining things up last night and started bouncing ideas off my brother (who doesn't play, but has been reading the fed) and who knows how I think as a booker. He might have only been 5 around this time - compared to me being an older, mature 7! - we know our old school wrestling. We were lucky enough to get to watch not only WWF and NWA, but also WCCW and AWA (thank you ESPN!). Let me just say that NOTHING is off the table yet.

Barry Windham gets the push.
Plan B would be Ricky Steamboat.
In an emergency situation there would be no time to bring someone new in, introduce them, and immediatly make them the flagship guy. Someone popular from within who has mainstream appeal would be the way to go.
