I haven't played through the eras of these two in a looong time, but when I did, I seem to remember both Star Warrior 2090 and Alpha Force really hanging with Chaos.
Prior to 2090, Thantos just creamed everyone.
My vote goes to the Evil GameMaster.

Choas with one good arm & no legs could still defeat Thantos in his prime.
The Black Knight always triumphs!! Chaos is invincible!

From a titles perspective, it's Chaos, and since that's my ultimate benchmark, that's who I go with. Although Thantos gave me more interesting storylines of the two of them.

I didn't vote because I didn't get far enough into Chaos' career to really make a fair decision...BUT...as great as Thantos is/was...and he WAS great...he took a little while to get going. Chaos came in right away and was a monster.
You could pose the same question about Endgame and Monolith...and it would be a tough call too. Endgame came in and was a force right away...and is truly a stud for me...but Monolith, despite only having wrestled 3 matches for me thus far, came in with SO much hype and then lived up to it that I'd be pressed to say that he's the bigger stud of the two...but only just.
