Thantos had trailed a pair of Sentries to a warehouse in a remote location. With the enemy on the run and no civilians nearby, the newly super-powered Thantos saw the perfect opportunity to take the kid gloves off and see what he could do. As the enemy headed for the warehouse Thantos thought about calling in Star Warrior and Supernova for back-up, but decided that they'd just get in the way of the unscheduled "field test" of his new abilities and decided to go it alone.
Before the Sentries could make it inside the hero charged, taking the first one down hard with a shoulder ram and keeping him there with an energy pulse. Unfortunately for Thantos, the second Sentry wasn't as dumb as he looked and decided to use the battleground to his advantage. He grabbed a large piece of debris off of the ground and swung hard, sending Thantos flying back. Sentry #2 tried to press the attack but Thantos caught him coming in with a powerful Force Slam and followed it up with a MASTERLOCK, pinning him against a large boulder and taking him out of the fight.
Sentry #1 had recovered by this time and attempted to down Thantos with a rifle blast. The shot was easily avoided and the now angry Thantos used a Force Slam to send the Sentry flying into a nearby Sci-Lar stream. He then picked up the spent shell casing from the Sentry's own rifle and, to add insult to injury, hurled it hard enough to crack the lackey's face shield. Thantos was done toying with his adversary and defeated him by holding him underneath the Sci-Law Stream via MASTERLOCK until he was incapacitated.
Thantos looked down in disgust at the fallen Sentries and laughed. "Barely more than a light workout," he spat. "I need a REAL challenge to test these powers!"
As if on cue, the ground began to tremble and the warehouse loading door burst open. An enormous Adabot appeared and began lumbering toward Thantos. Thantos was not intimidated and rushed his would-be attacker with a sidewinder kick. The man-driven machine merely swatted Thantos away. The hero flew about a hundred feet through the air and landed all the way back on the other side of the Sci-Lar Stream. The Adabot gave chase to attempt to finish the job, but the terrain played to Thantos' advantage this time as the Adabot slipped in the oil-like stream and landed on it's back with an earth-shaking thud. Thantos hopped to his feet and used a powerful KINETIC EXPLOSION to finish off the huge but ineffective attacker.
Satisfied with himself and the immense power he was quickly learning to wield, Thantos decided to go inside the warehouse and see what Krakan's lackeys had been protecting. He reached no farther than the door when he was knocked back by a rifle butt to the forehead. Thantos attempted to shake off the surprise blow as KRAKAN himself stepped out to finish the job. A pellet bomb thrown at Thantos' feet disoriented the hero. Krakan took aim and a Rifle Blast took Thantos to one knee. A cranium crack knocked Thantos down and Krakan measured his prey for another vicious blow. Thantos rolled out of the way at the last instant and ended up by a Cetus Thorn tree. He attempted to break off a branch to use as a weapon until he could power-up again for a stronger attack but Krakan cut him off by tossing some battleground debris into his eyes, temporarily blinding the hero. Krakan tried to finish the job with a running elbow smash, but Thantos had the presence of mind to retaliate and block him with a Sweeping Energy Field. Back to full strength, Thantos unleashed with a Tidal Wave followed by a Force Slam and ended it for good with the MASTERLOCK.
Thantos was just about to make a call to the rest of the team to revel in his single-handed victory when an explosion rocked the warehouse. Thantos ducked for cover and looked up just in time to witness Krakan's ship flying overhead. A tractor beam came down from the ship and retrieved it's fallen leader. Knowing he was easily outgunned by the massive warship, Thantos could do nothing but stand by as Krakan was lifted away and watch as ultimate victory was snatched from his grasp.
