each character should be equipped with willpower. along with power and agility will is vital vs superpowered mentalists. lets say a guy can control minds. let's say his power is (+2). should it be against everybody? what if you had +2 vs a B level willpower. that means a C would be +3! but an A only gets you a +1 attack. A- being someone with tremendous willpower. then of course if you succeed you now control that character for the rest of the battle.

This reminds me of willpower from Marvel and DC Versus game.

well kinda. but the old Marvel and DC rpg's also handled this. Marvel had Psyche which was used to resist mental domination. DC had int/will/mind. will was mental strength and mind was the amount of damage your mind could withstand. but for your game i think it really widens the scope of capabilities. because most mind control individuals aren't in your face beatdown artists. and most beatdown artists aren't mental giants. with your wild west style of game play it get's even more crazy if a mind guy takes control of a tough guy on your team. and turns him on you for the remainder of that battle. yikes.
