DH Smith - He's the only one I'm sad to see go. I thought he had a lot of upside and after the Hart Dynasty broke up they had no idea what to do with him. I really thought eventually he and Tyson Kidd would get back together and have another run with the tag titles. I see him having a run in either ROH or MMA (I heard from a friend he helped Batista lose weight and get MMA ready).
Koslov - No shock to me. The WWE tried so hard to get him over and without Santino it just never really worked. I was a little surprised that the WWE never pushed his becoming a legit American citizen last year. Anyone remember he has a clean victory over the Undertaker?
Chris Masters - I agree with Swarm and wildfire. Masters would have been bigger in the 80's though I'm not sure how much bigger but after his release for the wellness policy you could see they had nothing planned for him. For some reason I always enjoyed he and Carlito's tag team pairing.
Melina - Sometimes I forget the WWE still has a Diva's division. Think about it we only see one RAW match and one Smackdown match a week. They never do anything in the division except around the Diva's champion. She's the only one I see getting a run in TNA. The E could have at least used her in a manager situation as she was easy on the eyes.

I always really liked Chris Masters. I feel like had he been in his prime during the 80's he would have been a huge star in the WWF. They had the prototype "Masterpiece" in the 80s in Paul Roma. Actually, and not many people know this, if you put Roma and Jim Powers in the Transevolver you get Chris Masters. Absolutely true story.

Yeah, that's a good point.. they've tried that gimmick a million times... Martel, Luger, was is Grenier? on of the french guys... Vince obviously likes it, but It never seems to catch on.

Nobody hated Chris Masters more than me back in 2006 when I thought he was pushed way to fast far too soon in his first run. However, by all accounts he has improved tremendously to the point where he was actually having good matches on Superstars... and he actually cut a pretty decent promo on Zack Ryder's Z! True Long Island Story this week. I think he'll be back for a third run, since the guy is 28 and has a powerful friend in Randy Orton who vouched for him to get rehired for his second run.

Additionally, David Hart Smith is 25, and I bet he'll be back for a second run, especially if he establishes a character in his time off.
The only time I really enjoyed Kozlov was in his ECW tag team pairing with Ezekiel Jackson and Regal as their manager. Really disappointed they never got a tag title run. But that goes back to prior comments about WWE not having a tag division. Heck, until very recently they didn't have a mid-card division either.
Maybe one day they'll bring back the tag division and people will actually give a crap about the Usos' Samoan war dance pre-match routine.

If this was 1971, Vladimir would have been a great foreign heel if he had a mouthpiece. But todays WWE isn't for him. His style is too slow and methodical for todays 5 minute match fan.

As for Chris Master, the guy really improved. His work in the ring is light-years ahead of where he was in 2007. Now, don't get me wrong. He will never be confused with Bret Hart or Dean Malenko, but he was servicable. Out of all the people let go yesterday, I am more disappointed about his release.

My first thoughts when I read about the releases: I never liked Kozlov, Gail Kim, or Chris Masters. I don't see them as any loss. Ever since Gail came back, she's had horrible matches where she botched spots left and right. DH Smith...I'm not happy about. I'd seen him a few times before he went to WWE. I always wanted him to do well, and I was excited when he was part of the new Hart Foundation and they had the tag belts. And now he's released. Hopefully he'll get another run because I think he has a lot more to offer. Melina...I never liked her. When she started training and improving in the ring, I did gain more respect for her. But ever since all this recent drama with her and Morrison and the Snooki issue, blah blah etc, I figured she wouldn't be around long. Considering they'd come back from commercial on Raw, and she was already in the ring without showing her intro, that basically made her a jobber IMO. And I'm really wondering if Morrison is going to quit now because of it. He seems to be her bitch.
