The WWE just got rid of Melina Perez, Vladimir Kozlov, Chris Masters, and David Hart Smith.

Just read that. Good, they need to trim the fat. It's weird that Masters was in the Summer Slam commercial if they were gonna release him. Seems like they would've put someone in it they were gonna use on the show. not that it's a big deal.
Now the question is, how long before they're all in TNA?

If they were going to trim the fat I would have ditched Santino and kept Kozlov. None of the others are any major shock to me either, although DH Smith could have gone somewhere. I see at least Masters showing up on TNA after this. Maybe Malina too. Somebody get Smith on the phone about Legends PRONTO though.

I enjoyed Melina during her first heel run but thought she was awful as a face. I'm sure TNA will be trying to bring her in. Gail Kim has quit as well and if she wants to stay active I could see TNA bringing her back. Kozlov, Masters, and Smith being released are no surprise as outside of Kozlov none of them were really featured on tha main shows of late. I could actually see TNA going after all five as they love hiring ex-WWE stars.

I really wouldn't be surprised to see Gail Kim return to TNA.
Although I am personally not much of a TNA fan, I actually liked the way TNA used her better than the way the WWE recently used her.

I really wouldn't be surprised to see Gail Kim return to TNA. Although I am personally not much of a TNA fan, I actually liked the way TNA used her better than the way the WWE recently used her. Did not shock me at all that Gail Kim was underused in WWE. I'm sure WWE was well-informed of the fact that people were saying the Knockouts division in TNA was better than the Divas division in WWE. It surprises me none that they brought Gail Kim (the first ever Knockouts Champion) into WWE and had her weekly jobbing to Michelle McCool (the first ever Divas Champion). Not a coincidence at all.

I always really liked Chris Masters. I feel like had he been in his prime during the 80's he would have been a huge star in the WWF.
Melina annoys me. Me and Payback were just talking about this over the weekend in Philly. She hit her ceiling a long time ago. I think the main reason she's been kept around is because of Morrison. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Bobby Lashley and throw his career away for her.
DHSmith - there's gotta be something wrong here. It seems like he's been given a lot of chances in his early career. I liked the Hart Foundation a lot tho with him and Tyson Kidd. Should have just let him stay with that. I really think tag teams is a great way to bring up and train young talent. But I think everyone (except WWE) does.
Kozlov - really no opinion. Him and Santino are/were as stale and played out as anything else. Kozlov is another guy who seems to have come along in the wrong era.

It's sad, 20 years ago some of those guys would have been in tag teams. Wonder what would have happend to Bret Hart, HBK and Davey Boy Smith if they came up in this era.

That's actually a great point...with no tag team division to speak of, it's really hard to get these guys on TV, never mind get them over.
Does make me wonder though, why Otunga and little Hennig over the Harts? The Harts are actually better workers, and none of them have really done any promos (Otunga a bit, and he's nothing to exciting.
Koslov would have indeed been awesome pre-Berlin Wall falling. There's just no place for a big Russian heel today.
Masters... eh. I think of him as a steroid guy that Vince tried to push because of his physique, then dumped after the Benoit thing forced them to have some testing... I never thought he was much in the ring or on the mike.

Now that DH Smith is out I have to wonder how long the other two member's of the Hart Dynasty last (Tyson Kidd & Natalya). When the three of them were working together they had some of the best chemistry of any pairing in recent years.
For some reason WWE doesn't like tag teams anymore, which sucks for the business overall. There are so many great tag teams on the indy scene that probably won't get a shot at the WWE because they are viewed as "Tag Team Guys"
Hopefully with Triple H having more of an influence within the company Tag Team wrestling can make a comeback. Probably not though
As for the other releases and Gail Kim's resignation I wouldn't be surprised to see them end up in either TNA or ROH for that matter.
