It's getting bad with these Movie remakes and No real original concepts, here are several remakes that I've heard about...
Total Recall - Kate Beckinsale, Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Jessica Biel & Ethan Hawke are in this film...
The Thing ( prequel ) They Live Romancing the Stone The Dirty Dozan Red Dawn Hellraiser
We have Conan and there are talks of Red Sonja having a remake...

I don't mind remakes as long as they are done right. Total Recall, with that cast, could be really good.
Fan boy classics should be left alone. They Live, Fright Night and others should be left alone.
With thousands of years of theatre and cinema; it is almost inevitable that ideas are running short.

Too many remakes. Enough already. Footloose even has a remake coming out. I don't get it. Come up with something original.

They can't come up with anything original. The writers spent all their creativity coming up with ... I'm The MIZ...and I'm awesome!

I am looking forward to the "Black Hole" remake. That was one of my favorite 80's sci-fi movies and I think that modern special effects will allow for a much better movie, especially when they finally go through the black hole.
I have not heard any news on this, but one remake that I would like to see happen is "Escape From New York". Snake Plisken is a great character that could carry a franchise. A friend even suggested that the guy who played Sawyer on Lost would be a great Snake!

Escape from NY is still on they brought in additional help with the script and Timothy Olyphant from Hitman & Justified is wanted as Snake...

I am usually not a fan of movie remakes.
For example, the original "Psycho" was a masterpiece. The remake with Vince Vaughn was at best IMO simply OK, but it was really an unnecessary remake of someone else's great work.
IMO, if you are going to do a remake, why not instead take a bad movie and remake it good? That would be more impressive than simply remaking an already good movie.
I think that is one of the reasons why I liked "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" last weekend. It actually was an improvement from the movie ("Conquest of the Planet of the Apes") upon which it was based.

I see that this weekend there is not just 1 but actually 2 movie remakes: "Conan the Barbarian" and "Fright Night."

I might actually see it too (I actually recently rewatched the original Conan the Barbarian movie on TV,) I was just trying to make the point that I think it is a little excessive to have 2 movie remakes released on the same weekend. I would prefer to see more original ideas.
