Gary was an incredible guy. My memories of him include going to a Canadian GWF convention with him as part of our traveling party and staying in a motel together. What fun it was. I believe it was the 1990's. It was also very cool to run into Gary at an Indian Pow Wow in Salamanca, New York last summer. We talked about Indian religion and mythical symbols, like the Wolf.
I am very sad for his passing and offer my condolences to family and friends. I'm sure there'll be a special tribute at GalactiCon in July.

I don't know what to say.................... This is truly sad news. Gary will be missed and remembered. An incredible loss for C.O.T.G. and the world as it was a better place with him in it. My thoughts and payers go out to Brock and all of Gary's friends and family. I'm so very sorry for your loss.  |

I never knew this man, but everything I've heard about him in the past, he sounded like a class act! Sorry to hear of the news and I know for a fact he will be missed! Perhaps down the line, we could do a memorial of some kind at Con for him?  |

Very Sad news
Gary was a great guy and a good friend. Remember meeting him and Broc years ago with Sam Luptak and became good friends
He will be missed and my prayers will be with the Atkinson Family

I am shocked, I talk to Broc on line on a fairly regular basis. Gary was a good friend and he will be missed.

Very sad news. Gary was always very happy and upbeat. We used to talk about being the "old guys" at G-Con. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Broc and the family tonight. I met dad at Galacticon 2006 and he was a most delightful gentleman.

I remember him telling me a story about when he first got into the game. Not sure exactly how it went, but how he joked with Tom that he (Gary) either called Bishop Hell, Bishop Heck, or that Tom should change the name to that....Gary was a minister. I always laughed at that.  |
