One man's opinion, but this was an underwhelming (and disappointing) show.

One man's opinion, but this was an underwhelming (and disappointing) show. Not just one man's opinion, I thought it was disappointing as well. I mean really, you build up this angle and this match, advertise it as a unification match and the winner is....nobody who participated in the actual match?

CM Punk won the match. He didn't end up walking out with the title but on par with every other MITB winner, he cashed in at the end of a match/PPV. Just like what Edge did to Cena at New Year's Revolution all those years ago.
Nash's involvement has me intrigued. He'd be a cool enforcer type for HHH.
Overall, I thought the 1st half of the show was horrible (minus the Sheamus - Henry match). Stupid 5 minute guitar solo national anthem, 10 minutes of C-Lo douche (I don't think C Lo is selling PPV buys or tix to SS), then a terrible divas match, and a 8 minute SS Axxess review/anti-bully promo. 3-4 min vid packages to EVERY match? C'mon! Like anyone who bought tix to the show or spent $50 to buy it on PPV doesn't know the stories behind the matches. Plus, can't the announcers recap quickly during the entrances?
Good thing US Champ Dolph Ziggler vs. A-Ry wasn't shown. *rolls eyes* I can't believe after showing HTM vs. Warrior at SS '88 twice this week that Cody's winning of the I-C belt didn't happen on this show.
I thought the show ended strong, tho. The 2 title matches were pretty good as was Bryan-Barrett. Ending of the PPV was unexpected. I didn't think ADR would cash in because of HHH's involvement in the match.
I'd give this PPV a B-

Bearing in mind Payback, I thought the result at New Year's Resolution was bloody stupid as well. In my opinion if they wanted to put the title on ADR, they should've done it at an earlier PPV, in a title match he was actually in.

I watched a WWE PPV for the first time in about 6 years, this should have been money (I watched with about 6 other people so it only cost me about $8) that I spent on fly paper. Del Rio & Nash at the end was one of the most peculiar things I have seen. Overall the show wasn't good. Granted I've only been watching the WWE again for about a month, is this the norm? If so I can skip it again.

I didn't watch but it's interesting to hear that Kevin Nash took out CM Punk and then ADR cashes in to win the gold. I'm guessing either ADR hired Nash to be his Enforcer/Bodyguard or some other option dealing with HHH/CM Punk, either way it'll be interesting to see how this pans out...

I'll go with Payback here though I could drop the grade to a C+. If anything the show was made by the Randy Orton and Christian match which I thought was incredible. Great build in the match, great use of weapons, great finish. Almost on par in my mind with last month's Cena and Punk match. I'm thinking we will now have a Mark Henry and Randy Orton feud.
Cena and Punk was okay. Looking back now the hype for me was so huge I'm not sure the WWE could have finished the match any way that everyone would have liked. I wasn't a big fan of the ending. The foot on the rope just seemed silly to me. Why can't Punk win clean unless Cena and Triple H will feud? I kept waitng for something to happen in the match and then it didn't...but I thought the ending was okay. Kevin Nash made me go huh and the Del Rio was fine. I could have lived without the camera panning to Triple H every 30 seconds and he looked like a lost child wandering around.
Barrett and Danielson was good. The 6 man was okay and the Sheamus and Mark Henry was fine.
The sad thing to me was this is "supposed" to be the 2nd or 3rd biggest show of the year and they only booked 5 matches in advanced. Like Payback said way to many filler spots. Why am I seeing movie previews and 7-11 commercials. I can see those on Smackdown or RAW. Why was there no Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, Dolph Ziggler, Alex Riley, the tag champs?

This was the first full PPV I'd watched in a long time (Thanks for the feed, Cuz!), and I enjoyed it, but I definitely agree with alot of what you guys are saying.
The promos, advertisments, and the rest really made it feel much more like RAW than a PPV, especially with the 6 man match at the start.
That being said, I thought the wrestling was pretty good overall. The 6 man had alot of energy, and the good guys won, which got the crowd going.
Henry pretty much squashed Sheamus, but the ending spot was cool enough to make it work.
Barrett-Bryan was the best worked match, and all that I expected, though the crowd was a little dead.
I thought the women's match was the best WWE DIVA match in some time... it told a story, which is nice. Not sure why Eve and Natalya were there if they didn't do anything, eye candy I guess.
Orton - Christian was a great throwback to mid-90s garbage matches... I mean that in a good way. Edge's promo was the best part, though.
The main event was pretty slow, I thought, though it did pick up. Loved the ending... they made it controversial without HHH taking a side.
As far as the Nash-ADR thing, well, I'm not sure I like it, but I am intrigued, and willl watch tonight, so I guess that it worked.
I'd give it an A if it was a RAW episode, but since it was suppose to be one of the major PPVs, I'd probably agree with the B-... it was just nothing special.

Its really tough to follow up an A+ PPV that we had last month at MITB. I enjoyed it, but agree it was a bit of a let down. I thought the title matches were strong and the Diva's match was really good. I'd give it a B.
