They did the whole angle with Cena over the belts made him one of the most talked about Wrestler in wrestling right now, beats Cena to Unify the title,Loses to Alberto Del Rio and then goes from that to feuding with Kevin Nash and maybe Triple H
WOW. That was a short run for Punk. He should have never came back
I think the WWE dropped the ball on this one which shouldn't surprise anyone

Not really surprised here. Pretty much every one of Punk's runs have ended with him getting screwed over. I like Del Rio, and I'm hoping for an ADR/Punk feud, but I have a feeling they're just going to push Punk aside and keep Cena in the spotlight.
Looks like Punk was right all along.

I think they're trying to work an Austin type angle for Punk. It could work out in the long run.
It was obvious they were going to do the Del Rio cashing in thing. Way too obvious but they did it anyways.

Actually Del Rio has the belt-maybe for no other reason than the upcoming mexico tour--but it's still revolves around Punk. Oh well Cena did run out to save the day and manage to put himself right back in the title picture...where have i seen such a thing before...cough huckster.. cough 1980s.
But the show ended abruptly. I was like, that's it? I was thinking there'd be a big confrontation with HHH. But is anyone else thinking that maybe it was Stephanie that sent the text, not HHH?
And what's Nash and HHH's obsession with Punk's physique...or did the steroid scandals escape them?

Ya know this thread is exactly what CM Punk was ripping on the "fans" for a couple of weeks ago. Just sayin'
Who cares if he doesn't have the belt right now. Punk is involved in the no.1 storyline in the fed and the first big mystery in awhile. He's involved in a storyline with HHH, Stephanie McMahon, a returning Kevin Nash, possibly Vince etc...he shouldn't have come back because they put him in biggest story going right now? Probably making more money than he ever has? C'mon.

I don't mind Punk losing the title, I just don't want him stuck in a feud with Kevin Nash and/or the McMahons... sounds pretty boring.
Did HHH hire Nash? Did ADR? Did he come back on his own?
To be honest, I don't care. HHH has been pretty good as COO, but that will likely end if/when he gets in the ring AS the COO.
I'd like Punk to be Punk... not Austin 2011... I suspect they're gonna try to turn him into the latter.

Can you imagine if the internet was big back in 1996-'97? How many people would've been up in arms over Steve Austin's push getting cut short after every loss or when McMahon cheated him out of the belt? Austin loses clean to Hart at Wrestlemania 13? "That's it, back down the card for Austin. Way to ruin a good thing, Vince! Make way for Bret and the 'five moves of doom'!" I'd just wait for the payoff with this one. I've got a feeling their taking a similar strategy with Punk as they did with Austin. And what's Nash and HHH's obsession with Punk's physique...or did the steroid scandals escape them? You know, this does bother me a little bit, though. I've thought the same thing. It seems like such an outdated thing to do, especially in an era where the public scrutiny is so high. I think I see the reasoning behind it from their standpoint (unless this is just live mic stuff those two came up with on their own), but it could backfire on them. |

I guess after seeing people like Punk getting knocked down over and over again, I don't get my hopes up. At least ADR has the belt and not Cena, so I'm happy.
I just picked up MITB 2011, and Punk/Cena was an Awesome match!
