Anyone else here ever question if the WWE has done more to help wrestling or to hurt it? I hate the idea that as far as TV goes, there's no alternative to the product McMahon puts out. Granted, it's the best option, but when the only other options are a watered-down ECW (which technically isn't an alternative to the WWE) and a worse-than-WCW-could-ever-be TNA, a wrestling fan begins to long for the glory days of the WWF, NWA & AWA. Perhaps this is why I'm so excited about Legends of the Future. True, this game has always allowed us to run our own feds, but in my case, I know I've held back on certain ideas/angles due to the fact that my memory always overrules my imagination when it comes to these "historic" wrestlers, some of whom I've been watching since I first discovered the "sport". By using these "indy" wrestlers, who most of us have never seen & won't see on TV tomorrow night, I feel much more liberal to create a history of my own.

Nice post and I agree a Legend's "history" sometimes gets in the way of my imagination as well!!

My biggest problem is that in my memory, Jim Duggan was a b-d-ss (Mid-South)...and in LWF, he's getting beaten up by Danny Doring.
Other than THAT, I actually have little problem using guys as the angles and ideas occur to me...

I've always thought Duggan's pin was a bit high at 7(4) to go along with 2 down - 3 on his L3D. I would have put him at a 5(2) or 6 (3). When you start getting in the 7(4) range, it's almost jobber like

Yeah, it is kinda odd watching the best of 80s UWF and seeing his matches in that area where he was a legit main event star, and then having him just epic fail so much in LOW.

I think Jon did a great job with the stats in putting these guys stats in line with the existing Legends given their overall resume. They will give some guys a run for their money, but obviously won't be able to beat Harley Race. I completely agree. Jon did a heckuva job on this set and the cards turned out even better than I was expecting. I'm as eager for my next set of Future as I am for my next Legends set. And that's a big compliment for Knapik's work right there. Great job all around.
