Hey everybody. Just in case you hadn't heard, lots of south Texas is on fire...including the area very near my home. My family was evacuated and are all OK, but news is hard to come by right now. Don't know how the house held up or if it's even still standing. Only got out with a few clothes, some bedding and our lives. The rest is just stuff, and while tough to lose (if it is indeed lost) it could be replaced or remembered. Will update everyone later. Send good wishes to benevolent deities of your choice.

Vidtek,
I hope for the best for you and your family.
We talked about the wildfires in Texas in class today for current events at the start of Geography.

Hang in there Vidtek. I just went through a natural disaster of my own (earthquake's epicenter was about 5 miles from my house), so I know how unsettling this all is for you and your family. You will get through it, and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. As long as you and your family are safe, that's the most important thing.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. The good news is that as of last night our house is still standing, intact, and there isn't any fires currently in our imediate area. The bad news is we can't get an all clear to go back to the house because of fires in OTHER areas that might move. As for now, we are in a shelter. Red cross has been really great.
