Few things in life are as sweet as Week 1 of the NFL season. Tons of action today with tons of shockers.
Big winners
Carolina Panthers - They lost but it looks like they have their QB. Cam Newton looked great out there today. Man-child.
AZ Cardinals - Congrats. You found your QB. Should be favorites to win division moving forward.
Cincinnati Bengals - Everyone's been dogging them. Picking them to finish last. Turns out Browns still 2nd best team in Ohio.
Chicago Bears - No one had Bears winning and they killed them. Super strong. As dysfunctional as the Bears seem to be they win often and they beat good teams.
Detroit Lions - As advertised. In a week full of surprises, the Lions winning wasn't one of them. Boom!
Minnesota Vikings - They lost too but they hung with an elite QB and great Charger squad on the road. AP is INCREDIBLE. Best RB since Barry. McNabb even looked good out there. Not the dogs a lot of people expected to see today.
Green Bay Packers - Defending champs looked amazing. NFC North looks like best division in NFC (maybe NFL) right now.
Big losers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Not that they lost but how they lost. Aberration or reign of big rape finally over?
Atlanta Falcons - Gambled away future for one guy in draft to get past Packers and Bears in NFC and instead get smashed into the ground. Julio Jones useless vs. Bears still incredible defense.
Cleveland Browns - This one hurt, bad.
New York Giants - Eli Manning is beginning to look like a one year wonder.
St. Louis Rams - The Dream Scheme is a tough week 1 draw by itself, but Rams had ton of bad luck going against them running into bad injuries to major players. Huge MNF game next week vs. Spags old team, the Giants. Week 2 and it's already looking like a must win game for both teams.
Seattle Seahawks - team is complete mess. Going to be long year for Hawks.
Indianapolis Colts - If Colts go 1-15 does Peyton Manning win MVP?
MNF predictions
New England destroys Miami and Oakland wins over Denver in a game a lot like Giants-Skins today.

Big Winner: Wade Phillips. The man is a natural as DC. Just don't anyone ever again give him the Head job.
Big Loser: Tony Romo. Has any quarterback ever looked so good for the first 3 1/2 quarters only to totally self-destruct the final 8 minutes of the game?

Big winners
Cincinnati Bengals - Everyone's been dogging them. Picking them to finish last. Turns out Browns still 2nd best team in Ohio. These two play again and the series is 40-36 all-time in favor of the Bengals. I'll be surprised if we don't split this year.
Chicago Bears - No one had Bears winning and they killed them. Super strong. As dysfunctional as the Bears seem to be they win often and they beat good teams. Actually, I picked the Bears. I've only missed 3 games thus far this week and the Bears(who are underrated), were not one of them.)
Detroit Lions - As advertised. In a week full of surprises, the Lions winning wasn't one of them. Boom! I loved seeing this, not only did I pick the Lions but I drafted Stafford in my big money league. I hope it's his year to shine!
Minnesota Vikings - They lost too but they hung with an elite QB and great Charger squad on the road. AP is INCREDIBLE. Best RB since Barry. McNabb even looked good out there. Not the dogs a lot of people expected to see today. Peterson is great, we'll see what kind of longevity he'll have and then we'll think about comparing him to Barry. McNabb looked horrid, the guy threw for under 40 yards, that's hardly "good".
Green Bay Packers - Defending champs looked amazing. NFC North looks like best division in NFC (maybe NFL) right now. The NFC North does look to be the best division as of week 1. I don't know if they can hold that position, but the Bears, Lions, and Packers all seemed very impressive. Packers repeat?
Big losers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Not that they lost but how they lost. Aberration or reign of big rape finally over? Obviously I love that they lost, because I hate them more than Baltimore. Always good to see them whipped, but I wish it were to a different team.
Cleveland Browns - This one hurt, bad. Yes, it did. This was suppose to set the tone for our season and start us out with a victory. Unfortunately, as many Browns fans know, the Browns usually let us down, especially since the reformation of the team in 1999. I only hope it gets better, because I'm going to see them play the Colts and the Rams this year.
Indianapolis Colts - If Colts go 1-15 does Peyton Manning win MVP? I did lol to this, because I got such cheap tickets to the Browns/Colts game, because people are only loyal to Manning, not to the team. Fair weather fans *smh*
MNF predictions
New England destroys Miami and Oakland wins over Denver in a game a lot like Giants-Skins today. I would love for your predictions to become correct, I would win my pick'em for the week and some money! Even though I picked Denver, if Pats/Raiders win, I win! Here's to hoping.

Big WinnersThe Buffalo Bills score 41 in KC ;D The Chiefs a 10-6 record and playoff team last year loses badly to a team that hasn't seen the playoffs in the 2000's is a BAD for them Chiefs for sure. Buffalo could be a upset team if playoff bound teams don't take them serious enough and that is GOOD for the hometown team...

hmmm, surprised to see you say McNabb looked good out there Rob?! I try not to be critical of this guy, because I'd like to see him successful this year, with a new team and he's a good QB and guy. I don't know, most of the people here in Minnesota I think are expecting big things with him and he didn't really "shine" like most thought he should in Week 1. Me personally, I don't want to judge him after one game in week 1. It's tough being on a new team, new offense and do things perfectly. But most people I've talked to were really critical of him and his performance on Sunday. I don't want to do that, I'm giving him a chance to "shine", and I believe he will once he gets comfortable with his team.
But AP, yeah, I agree. "All Day" Adrian looked good and with that new contract extension for $100 Million for seven years is HUGE! I believe he's worth every penny of that deal! I'm so happy he's sticking with the team! Can't wait to see him every week now!
The Vikes are in a tough division this year. Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay all looked really good this week! It's gonna be hard to be at the top of the ol' Black N Blue Division this year! Looking forward to these division match ups!
Other teams this week.
Felt bad for Indy, losing Manning, big loss to the Texans! Ouch.
Bills big over KC? Didn't see that coming.
Cincinnati winning is big, I was thinking Cleveland was going to win that one?! Wow.
Ochocinco in New England. Still trying to find out how I feel about that. Will he have a major impact with the team or just a waste of money that New England didn't need to spend? Didn't get a lot of play time Monday Night, makes me wonder?! Did anyone hear Teddy Bruski's comments about Ochocinco after his tweets about the game? Wow, Teddy ripped on him bad.
Going to be some good match ups again next week! Hope I get my picks right this time, haha.

No I was wrong about McNabb. I guess I wasn't paying as much attention to that game as I thought I was. I take it back.
Also, Teddy Brusci needs to relax. I see his point but I also see Chad's point too. Brusci is kind of a douchbag. Anyone remember how after the Pats cut him and he retired, he put them on blast constantly while conveniently becoming the New York Jets no.1 fan? He's since backed off that angle, but imo it was enough for me to think he kind of showed his true colors when he did that.

Not only that, but it seems like a lot of other ex-patriots have been bagging on Ocho-Cinco too. I didn't think it was that big of a deal.

New York Giants - Eli Manning is beginning to look like a one year wonder. Hard to call him a 1 year wonder when he's had 2 years above 4000 yards and a superbowl MVP (I know the Giant D was more deserving of it, but still had a great game) Did he look bad against the skins? Sure, especially in the 2nd half, but he looked terrible a good part of the season they won the superbowl. Way to early to count them out. (any of the teams for that matter) I think you may have a different opinion about the Steelers next week (well except Ben Rapistberger being a douche). I think they're going to play some motivated football next week. I think they will take their frustrations out on Seahawks, and win big. Definitely agree about Cam Newton. Yeah, he was playing Arizona's D, but wow a rookie QB with those numbers week 1? Damn!

Oh, speaking of Cam Newton, Did anyone catch what Terry Bradshaw said about him in the pre game show? I thought it was sort of funny as he doesn't think Newton is going to be a big time QB in the league (in his own opinion). Man, what Newton did this past weekend, I'd say he's got some talent and he's only going to get better. And Bradshaw is usually wrong anyways about a lot of things, but I thought it was funny.
