GALAXIAN BATTLEZONE LEAGUE
The sport world's new addiction!


What –
The Galaxian Battlezone League is an association which operates a major professional wrestling operation of 11 franchised member clubs. Headquartered in Free Luna, the GBL is widely expected to become the premier professional wrestling operation in the universe. The Filsinger Cup will be awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season.

Why –
The league was organized in early 2126 when promoter Todd “Biggin” McFadyen set out to create a unique sport experience by turning professional wrestling into a team sport. The introduction of the GWFZ Territories left the wrestling world favorably poised for this conversion.

Who –
The GBL draws many highly skilled players from all over the known universe. The 2126 season will showcase 88 players, 11 coaches, and a large number of support staff involved with this new venture.

Where –
Each of the major GWFZ territories has agreed to maintain a team during the GBL’s inaugural season, and the Proving Grounds have agreed to continue efforts to foster future GBL athletes. Events will take place at standard venues within the home team’s territory. All events will be broadcast by holovid.

How –
GBL games are played in a GWF/GWFZ approved, regulation wrestling ring. While the Galaxian Battlezone League follows the general rules of professional wrestling, all official regular season and playoff games will use the rules for Battlezone Matches.

Talent scouts from the major GWFZ territories are on hand to preview what can be expected from 33 athletes that are on the bubble. That’s right, tonight we will not be seeing any of the established wrestlers that are expected to be drafted, just a hard fought scramble for the remaining wrestlers in question to get noticed. For all involved, this is a big night. The GBL Draft is just two weeks away.

There is a lot here for the scouts to take in here, folks. Thorn proved to be the Most Valuable Player tonight; not only did he ultimately win the event, but he also managed to survive the longest of any of the entrants. Harris was on fire with a record six eliminations. Ricky Kwong and Kevin Butcher sustained the most damage with four fatigue counters each. Zach Thompson had the shortest stay in the ring. Certainly one of the biggest highlights of the night was the mid-match exchange between feuding rivals Son of Saturn and Eradicator. We will just have to wait and see how this information translates to the draft, but the speculation can begin in earnest now.

As expected, the draft mostly followed territorial lines. Big Superstar was the much anticipated first pick, drafted by the Ceres Dead Ringers. The Ursa Major Lightning scored an upset when they avoided convention by stealing Death Knight III away from Assassin Island with their first pick. The Ceres Dead Ringers started getting creative in the fifth round when they looked to the Proving Grounds for new 3XW clones. The sixth round saw Thorn, Harris, and Son of Saturn as top choices as info from the 2126 GBL Scouting Combine began paying dividends. The second upset of the draft came when the Trojan Asteroid Brute Squad stole The Mad One away from Super Natural Extreme. Because teams were mostly drafted from within their original territory, bad blood and tension remaining from old feuds may slow down the development of some teams; the Achernar Assassins and Phobos Titans may gain a slight advantage as a result. We at the Galaxian Battlezone League office would like to wish all of the new teams good luck in Training Camp, as the athletes seek to put aside their differences to form cohesive units.


To close out the proceedings, the Galaxian Battlezone Cheerleaders were introduced and performed a short but entertaining routine. The 2126 GBL Cheerleading squad is...

Just like any other fantasy sports league that you might play online, this fantasy league will allow you to create and name your own team, draft players, set your starting line-up for each game week, trade players with other fantasy league members, keep an eye on your team’s stats, and ultimately compete to be the fantasy league victor. The fantasy league will be something that you can casually participate in and enjoy without spending vast amounts of time.

I’m looking for people that…
- want to try something new.
- enjoy friendly competition.
- and, most importantly, will actively participate in the growth and discussion of a project that I am very excited about.
