UFC is super boring most of the time. I agree with a lot of what he says here, and some he doesn't, but I understand his point being the guy on the wrestling side of things. One thing about HHH that I don't like is the way he says some things sometimes. Calling Brock a "country bumpkin" then saying "and I don't mean that in a bad way." Of course he means that in a bad way, otherwise he would just say "country boy" and not have to defend himself. I have no problem with HHH being a dick, but don't act like you aren't bring a dick. That's just makes him look like a bitch. If you want to slam someone then just slam them. Don't hide from your own words.
I will also say this - I think the WWE needs more "quick endings" if they want to appear like a legit sport even a little anymore. That's how fighting goes sometimes. I disagree with him that quick fights are boring. Usually those are the best ones. It wouldn't hurt WWE to have a match now and then where a guy gets caught early and goes down hard in under a minute or two. Sets up a big rematch etc...adds some realism to it.

I think what the WWE doesn't do well lately is the short match that is also a total barnburner. Usually the short matches that we get on Raw or Smackdown are two kinds: little excitement and psychology, or guys are supposed to be totally gassed and beat up five minutes in, which always looks dumb.
But, when you go to WWE 24/7 and watch their cards from the 80's usually the main events are only like 10 minutes long, but still by far the most exciting matches. Every second is full of energy, excitement, impact, and also good psychology.
There are only a few companies/wrestlers to me who can genuinely pull off that kind of match now, and those are super few and far between.

I think the UFC needs more energy in the Entertainment side of things for sure and allow it's fighters breathing room to be themselves but kicked up a notch to make it interesting, it's one reason I don't watch the UFC. I also agree that Pro Wrestling needs that element of surprise with a quick match and not ending always with their finishers. HHH is smart, but I agree that he contradicts what he says and I guess maybe he's in the mindset of he needs to play both the Non-PC & PC role...

I don't watch the UFC, so I don't know their actual practice of such things, but the UFC really needs to allow their fighters to be themselves if they don't do that already.
If a guy wants to run his mouth, let him. If a guy wants to keep his mouth shut, let him. If he wants to spout off about politics or religion or some stuff, let the fighters say what they want. People want to connect to sports stars, how can they do that if their sports stars can't be themselves?
All sports have boring parts to watch. The reason it doesn't seem boring more often is because our connection to our favorite teams/athletes carries us through those incidences.

I feel like 99% of all UFC fight hype is the same. Guy A says he's the best and he's gonna KO or tap guy B. Guy B takes offense and says no, HE will make guy A tap or KO him. They stare each other down before the fight, looking mean and angry. Then regardless of what happens they hug afterwards like there was never a beef. it seems really scripted. I really wonder sometimes if UFC already is trying to be like wrestling they just suck at it. That's why the guys I'm most into are the Diaz bros, Brock, Silva and others who seem to talk a lot shit on their own. And on the flip side, GSP, who does his talking in the ring. Some fans say WWE produces a lot of "clones". UFC is king for that.
For so long Dana White has tried to NOT be like pro wrestling. That only works for so long. In real sports guys lose and when they do, if they have no personality their careers are over fast. A guy like Chris Leben (sp) can lose and it's cool cuz dude has a real colorful look, personality and always puts on a show. Same w Tito Ortiz. I can't even remember last time he won a fight, yet he remains a draw because of his personality. 90% of UFC guys look, fight and act boring. Brock was in many ways the best and WORST thing to ever happen to UFC. He is clearly their top draw. And he's the top draw for a reason. Some want to see him win, some want to see him get his ass kicked, but everyone wants to see him. I don't even know if GSP is in that category. No one else is even close.
