I guess the Packers may not run away with this division after all. Congrats Swam and the Detroit Crew for finally having a Lions team that looks like a player again. Packers and Lions 2-0 and tied for first. I can't wait for that Packers Lions battle on Thanksgiving. These 2 teams look good. STRONG!

Yeah, I thought that too. Sunday Night football commented about the Lions being one of the surprise teams this year along with Buffalo. Really? Buffalo I can agree on, but the Lions? Surprised? I'm not that surprised that they are doing this well right now. It's still early, a long way to go for the entire season, but I'd say they are one of the better teams in the NFL right now.

To be honest, keeping cool and calm here in the D. This is not a shock to any real Lions fan. This is what we expected. Maybe not 48-3 but def expected an ass kicking. This defense is the real deal. We literally have ONE weakness - our 4th CB Aaron Berry. Seriously, this team looks like a 12 win team. If the Lions get another decent CB in the draft next year, you might be looking at the new best defense in the league. Expect more of the same next week. McNabb is in big trouble.
I will say this - already getting annoyed with the "bandwagon jumpers". People showing up to the game just to drink and party, not paying attention to the game...people calling our local radio show acting like fools, talking mad shit afterward, saying things so self-respecting Lion fan would say - yesterday some wasted chick calls up and says "Jason Hanson should have kicked a 70 yard FG just to rub it in!" No one who knows and respects Hanson would ever say that. Embarrassing. This is just like the great Red Wings bandwagon jump of the early 90's. Dear band wagoners - F off. If you weren't with the team during the dark years you aren't allowed to jump on now. Dorks.

I think the National Media only see's the Lions as the Horrid Team they have been for years and starting off 2-0 is a surprise and a Big Story in their books to build on, the Cinderella Story shocking the other teams in the NFL and you can say that for a true surprise in the Bills who haven't done anything good since the Kelly era...
LOL! No matter how you dress up a NFL game, your going to have your Drunk Bandwagon Fans come to the games only to Party and the more Detroit wins, the more those fans will grow...

National media jocking the Lions is fine. It's expected. That's media. Some teams become flavor of the week, year etc...and fans outside of MI no problem. I think a lot of sports fans root for the underdog, get excited about what appears to maybe be the next big thing. I've done it. I was cheering for the Rams last year vs. the Hawks in that playoff game for same reason. I was cheering for Tampa to win their 1st SB and years later, the Cards. There's a million examples...
It's the local jokers who have been doing nothing but rip the team, the organization and worst - us fans for sticking by our team - forever. NOW they want to nose their win in and lather in the blue and silver butter. It's annoying but I get it. Human nature and all. Just not my style. You are either loyal to your team through good and bad or not at all.

I don't think the Lions should be considered as much a surprise as they would be candidate for most improved. These drafts addressing the defense. Imagine that. Use a 1st round pick on someone who is not a wide receiver and BAM!
The Lions. Proof that the prima donna wide receiver position is the most overrated position in the NFL.
