BIG WINNERS -
Buffalo Bills - Bills fans haven't been this excited since Buffalo's Super Bowl chase in the early 90's. Games vs. the Pats and Jets will be true testers.
Detroit Lions, DC Gunther Cunningham and the Lions fans - Last year KC GM Scott Pioli filed tampering charges against former KC DC Gunther Cunningham after Gunther casually commented in an interview that he'd like to have a couple of the KC defensive players bound for FA on his squad. The result was losing a 7th rounder to KC and having to swap 5th with them. On Sunday, the Lions fisted KC 48-3, and celebrated with a Gator-Aid shower for Gunther. After the game Pioli tried to shake Mayhew's hand in the elevator and bury the hatchet. Mayhew turned his back on Pioli. How does the old saying go? "Don't shake my hand then slap me with the other."
As far as the margin of victory. Biggest in Lions history. And it happened in the home opener. Lions fans have been waiting for a game like this for over 10 years. BEAUTIFUL day in the D.
Washington Redskins - Will it last? Sexy Rexy is playing Gator ball with his homeboys in Washington. Who knew?
Tennessee Titans - The Titans - not the Texans, will benefit most from the Manningless Colts this year. This is a great team who needed a QB and now have a rejuvenated Hasselbeck at the helm.
Atlanta Falcons - The support Vick gets in ATL is disgusting. Matt Ryan said "Screw Vick" last night. Falcons needed this win and it was a sweet one with Dog Killer Mike no where in sight as Ryan rallied his team to victory. ATL fans need to trade those Vick jersey's in for Ryan jersey's, show this kid some support and move on.
BIG LOSERS -
KC Chiefs - More proof that everyone who leaves the Belichick/Brady nest is doomed to fail. Charlie Weiss in ND, Mangina in Cleveland, McMillen in Denver, and now Pioli in KC. When the Lions mascot takes out your best player for the season you know Karma is alive and well. Shouldnd'a been talking shit!
Seattle Seahawks - Pete Carroll is intentionally burying the Seahawks so he can draft his golden recruit - USC QB Matt Barkley is next years draft. It's so obvious. He goes out and drafts 3 O-linemen in his 1st two drafts. Then he spends big bucks on WR Sidney Rice. So far so good. And the guy he chooses to run this show is.....Tavaris Jackson??!!??! Uh...yeah. What the hot surfer chick with one arm wasn't available?
This will all happen unless of course he gets some blockbuster deal to return to the college ranks once all the heat on USC dies down. That's plan B. Plan A is Matt Barkley.
Teddy Bruschi - When Tom Brady bitch slaps you, it might be time to shut your mouth. Ouch.
Indianapolis Colts - Seriously, just give Peyton Manning the MVP right now.
Big picture bonus: Looking forward 7 months from now when the Colts are picking in the top 3. Colts GM wants his future franchise QB. A returning Manning wants a franchise LT with the idea that with one, he can win another SB before he retires. Both will be there. Who will get what they want? I say no way Colts pass on franchise QB. Will Peyton play along or demand trade. Stay tuned fans.
Minnesotta Vikings - Booed out of the stadium after blowing it vs. the Bucs. Last year Suh and the Dis-assembly line retired McNabb in Washington. McNabb hasn't forgotten that ass kicking. Next week Lions do it again, this time in MN.
Miami Dolphins - This team sucks. Chad Henne is not the guy. I said it then and I'll keep saying it. Fish blew it passing on Matt Ryan for Jake Long. THIS is why you ALWAYS take the QB when you have a top 5 pick. Over/under on how many weeks until Brandon Marshall's wife stabs him again - 5.
Philadelphia Eagles - Like the Colts without Manning, the Eagles are hapless without Vick (21 points in the 3rd quarter, 0 in the 4th after Vick left the game). Vick has been taking A LOT of hits dating back to last year. He's over 30 and just suffered a bad concussion. He's also a turnover machine. If nothing else, it's fun to watch him suffer.
MNFPredictions - Total coin flip. I hate to say it but Rams look down and out with all their injuries and suspect WR corps. Hoping for a big rebound from Sam the Ram. Kendricks needs a big game. Quinn needs to make himself known. Eli can def screw this up. Giants 20 Rams 19
