Regarding original content for WWE’s network that will debut next year, a source close to the situation says to expect a lot of “hokey” non-wrestling programming.
A cartoon show with Hornswoggle and Michael Cole has been discussed, among others. We hope to have details on more ideas in the next few weeks.

If true, this doesn't surprise me, and no one else should be either. If anyone thinks WWE Network is going to be aimed at the 35+ hardcore fans you're in for a rude awakening. I'm sure we'll get a lot of kick ass stuff but there's going to be a lot a stuff aimed towards kids too. Don't be shocked if all of Cena's and HHH's movies are shown in loops either. 24 hours a day/365 is A TON of time to fill.
I will say I do not buy into anyone "close to the situation" reporting this news using the word "hokey". Hokey = $$$ guys. Esp when it comes to kids. Ask any parent out there. Spongbob? Barney? Pokemon? The list goes on and on. us older fans are only half the wrestling audience. We've gotta start accepting that.

Speaking of cartoons...it'd be a nice throwback if they some how put on Hulk Hogan's Rock'n Wrestling or whatever that was called in the day. I remember seeing it as a kid and wouldn't mind rerunning it now

If they do a Cole and Hornswoggle cartoon "Adult Swim" style then I say go for it. They could do an action adventure style cartoon with John Cena as a GI Joe type hero, animate it to look like those "Rumblers" toys Mattel puts out, and that could be a winner, too. For that matter I kind of liked that idea of the Big Show and wife cooking show.
Seriously, I could watch old wrestling shows 16 hours a day and not get tired of it, but I'd be kidding myself if I thought I was anywhere NEAR the norm in that regard. There's just no way to sustain a channel with nothing but old wrestling tapes. They have to do this and if they do I really hope they think outside the box. It could be good. It could be treacherously bad. I'm still intrigued either way.

Hey Hulk Hogan's Rockin Wrestling is what got me into wrestling, so I think more cartoons are a good thing.
My favorite idea for original programming I heard is a reality show where former WWE stars live in a house. I'm a sucker for bad reality TV.

Maybe they could get the rights for the second of that celeb-reality show where Chyna self destructed again, and Sean Waltman was stalking her?
I'm sure they'll do lots of non-wrestling stuff.. they have to. I'd be happy with a few hours prime-time late night of interesting wrestling stuff... the rest can be hokey stuff geared at kids.
I have to think they're thinking about a HHH as a Conan-like character in a ongoing TV show.

Well it's probably true that they're going to need programming other than wrestling, and it's natural (if unfortunate) that they'll aim at least in part for the kids market. Still, it could be a disaster waiting to happen.
