The Big News: A true American Classic, Al Davis passed away this week at the age of 82. The Raiders won on Sunday in one of the more emotional and memorable moments you'll ever see. God Bless Mr. Davis, may his soul rest in peace.
BIGGEST WINNERS:
Oakland Raiders - Just win, baby.
Buffalo Bills - Nice way to rebound after the disappointing loss to Cinci in week 4, beating up dog killer Mike and the Puggles.
Pittsburgh Steelers - And just like that, the Steelers look scary dangerous again. I'm actually going to give it up to Big Ben today. No more rape jokes. Dude got married, no issues since, and yesterday killed the Titans D (sexy match up pick this week for a lot of FF fans) with 5 TD's. Gotta give props when props are due and Big Ben gets them this week.
Seattle Seahawks - Don't look now but the surprise Seahawks have won 2 in a row. This probably takes them out of the Suck for Luck sweepstakes, which is fine since Carroll wants Matt Barkley anyway.
Carolina Panthers - A 1-4 team on the winners side? You bet. Carolina looks to me a lot like the team who will end up with another high draft pick next year, then totally blow up. They have A LOT of strong pieces and Super Cam is looking good as he learns the ropes. BONUS points for whooping that sorry Saint ass following that cheap shot.
Minnesota Vikings - And AP imparticular. That win had to feel good. Let's see if it can carry over.
San Fran 49ers - How about Jim Harbaugh, quietly leading the Niners to 4-1? HUGE. The West is now theirs to lose.
New England Patriots - Revenge against the toe man in another classic Pats-Jets game. Pats look focused again after upset L to Bills.
BIGGEST LOSERS:
Philadelphia Eagles - Get used to seeing this sorry excuse for a team on the biggest losers list. 4 INT's by Vick? All of a sudden Andy Reid doesn't look like such a genius, possibly on his way out of town.
NY Giants - If there's one thing the Eagles have going for them at 1-4, it's that the rest of the NFC East is doing their best impression of the NFC West. Thanks to the G-Men dropping one to the Hawks, the East is still anyone's for the taking.
Tampa Bay Bucs - Looks to me like that home L to the Lions on opening day killed this team's moral. The Lions bounced the Bucs from the playoffs late last year. The Bucs were more fired up for the week 1 re-match more than they'll be vs. anyone else the rest of the year. And they got whooped. See you next year, Tampa.
New York Jets - The noise from that hole in T-Rex's mouth is fading...Jets not so tough so far this year.
Prediction for MNF - hard hitting black and blue division game that the Lions win 31-24.
