The Big News: The Green Bay Packers are the last unbeaten team in the NFL

BIGGEST WINNERS -

San Francisco 49ers - No one has really been talking up the Niners while the Lions and Pack have been basking in the spotlight all season. That changes now.

Cincinatti Bengals - Don't look now but the team most people had as the worst team in 2011 is 4-2. Huge games vs. Ravens and Steelers will determine upstart Bengals fate.

NY Giants - One week Eli stands there with his mouth open looking confused, the next week the G Men are beating teams they aren't supposed to beat. Some things just are what they are.

Atlanta Falcons - After being throttled early in the year, the Falcons are back to .500 heading into a pissed off Lions den. This next game is a defining one for both teams.

Oakland Raiders - That's 2 in a row since Al Davis passed. Raiders are quietly racking up some big wins. I don't think losing Jason Campbell is that big of a deal. He's average at best anyways. The defense and run game is the story here.

Tampa Bay Bucs - They looked dead and buried last week. They follow that up with an impressive upset of the Saints.

BIGGEST LOSERS -

Washington Redskins - Well, this team was going to go as far as Rex Grossman was gonna take them and yesterday, his head popped off.

Detroit Lions - Despite the 5-0 start, this one hurt. Lions looked like crap out there all game. With flashes of brilliance few and far between, the Lions left the Niners in the position to win the game on 4th down and they did.

MNF prediction - I have a weird feeling Miami finds a way to win this game. Fish 13 Jets 7

I honestly think both San Fran & Detroit are Winners with the Loss a good lesson in what the Lions need to fix, which will help them further in the season and the 49rs winning gives them a big boost...

When Eli isn't making mistakes, he is among the best. Good to see them with a running game again. Big win by SF.

Add to the Oakland Raiders this tidbit: Oakland found a way to pry Carson Palmer away from the Bengals, dealing a 2012 first-round draft pick and a 2013 conditional first-round pick to the Bengals for the no-longer-retired quarterback. Reports indicate that the 2013 conditional pick is a first-round pick only if Oakland wins at least one playoff game.

Am I the only one that sees Carson Palmer hurting the Raiders? Jason Campbell is not a great QB. BUT, in the mold of Trent Dilfer, all he had to do was manage the game. Give the ball to McFadden and let the underrated defense do it's job. Now you have Carson Palmer, who hasn't been a good QB since before his injury and still believes he's the same guy. I just don't like it.

I may be in the minority but I love it for the Raiders -

- the HARDEST position to find in all of sports in a franchise QB. Carson Palmer didn't light it up his last couple of years in Cinci but that is in large part to him checking out mentally a long time ago. A new team, back with his original OC (now HC in Oakland) back when he blew it up, and back home in CA could really rejuvenate this guy. He's not old at for a QB. He's not in his prime but he's a savvy veteran with past success as a star. Players like this just aren't available in the draft. If the Raiders are going for it now (and they seem to be) then it makes sense to part with your 1st rounder now.

- 1st rounders bust all the time. With Carson Palmer the Raiders know what they are getting. They need a QB. They've needed one for a long time. Jason Campbell was terrible before he got hurt. The Raiders are now respectable which means good luck finding a franchise QB drafting outside of the top 3 - 5 picks.

- Finally someone to get the ball to all these speedy players. Palmer still has a cannon. He's also not wasted on purple drank. I think he immediately improves the offense.

- The only way the Bengals get the Raiders 2013 1st rounder is if Oakland wins a playoff game. If Carson Palmer comes in, leads Oakland to the playoffs and wins a game, then he is more than worth that price.

Smart move by the Bengals. Ballsy high-risk super high reward for da Raidas

Yeah it's either going to be good for the Raiders or a big mistake. I think it was still a fairly good trade.

Raiders want to win now and they see Palmer in helping that cause, but we'll see if it pans out for them. So McNabb is benched and the chaos that is the Vikings continues...

I know at one point the Seahawks were interested in trading for Carson Palmer. But I am just glad my Seahawks did not give up 2 first round picks for Palmer (not that the Seahawks know how to select and/or use first round picks very well with some exception such as Russel Okung and Earl Thomas, but still.)

Palmer is a proven QB, but the Seahawks are not winning the division this year (49ers basically have it wrapped up) and instead of definitely mortgaging their future by giving up two first round picks for a player I consider past his prime- although I can see some level of rejuvenation with his new team, I think Seattle is better taking a chance on using its first round pick on a young QB next April.

On a side note, I am also glad the Seahawks did not surrender the ransom Arizona paid to get Kevin Kolb this past summer. Jackson(who has actually played better than I expected) is OK for a one year stop gap before they address a possible long term solution.

I think it was a good idea for the Raiders to trade for Palmer, but the price tag was way too high IMO. A first and a second round pick (assuming the Raiders dont win a playoff game) is a lot for someone that hasnt performed well for about 4 years.

Gotta hand it to Mike Brown that he was able to find someone that would meet his high demands for Palmer. Of course if the Bengals didnt have a winning record I think this trade wouldnt have happened. Now all the Bengals need to do is not mess up those picks...which is a tall order for them.
