It's not unheard of Jim. It is Oct. 29th, just the amount we're to get is a bit much for this time of year.

I read that Chikara has been forced to cancel their show originally scheduled for tonight due to road closures and loss of heat and power in the building, so you must be getting hit pretty good in that area.

Wow that sucks. That's two big shows this year ruined by weather in Philly. Is that city good for nothing?

It's not unheard of Jim. It is Oct. 29th, just the amount we're to get is a bit much for this time of year. In Philly, snow is unusual in October. 2.1 inches in 1979 is the record going into today. Wow that sucks. That's two big shows this year ruined by weather in Philly. Is that city good for nothing? Postponements and cancellations. That and sports teams that underachieve.

That does suck for CHIKARA. But at least it's not the IPPV today. Back in 2010, I remember Colt Cabana was scheduled to appear for Total Extreme Comedy in Las Vegas at the Hilton but he had to cancel due to being snowed in at the airport in Philly where he was in town for ROH TV tapings. Snow aside, now that I finally got to visit Chicago last summer and Honolulu last winter, Philadelphia (along with Boston) is one of the US cities I still really want to see the most. I might try to go next summer (especially if there is an ROH or CHIKARA show in Philly next summer.)

We got about 4-6 inches here by me in Jersey, but some coworkers had over a foot. Last year we got nothing until after Christmas.
The problem with the snow this early is that the leaves havent fallen yet, and the weight of the snow on the leaves is bring down trees left and right. I was out on Saturday afternoon and could hear the tree limbs snapping.
We lost power Saturday at 2 and may not get back until the end of the week. We are in much worse shape than after the hurricane or the Blizzards.
As for Chikara is the curse of the Countdown Showdown. The match has now been canceled twice because of weather. Their post on their board says they expect a plague of frogs the next time the match is rescheduled.

4-6 inches. We call those "flurries" in certain parts of Michigan...
