This forum has been a little quiet lately so here's a thread for some talk. This is to share fed stories and general love for one of the greatest LOTF heels in Chuck Taylor.
When I was running the HWA, Taylor had his ups and downs. His top feud was probably pwning Erick Stevens for the Alpha Title. He also wormed his way to a couple of title shots here and there. Overall, I loved his LOTF card and like his Chikara card even better. I'm hoping he captures the Open the Freedom Gate Title in my new DGUSA fed.

My favorite Chuck Taylor moment was in Taylor MI 2010. 8 man atomicos match featuring F.I.S.T., 3.0, and a couple of other guys...CT was beaten up and down outside the ring...he laying there in pain then out of nowhere, grabs girls flip flop right off of her foot and whipped it into the crowd. Major LOL moment. This was the same show where Tim Donst stole Payback's Mountain Dew right out from under hit seat and threw it 200 yards across the building. Great memories.

He is the best! His stuff in IWA-MS was hilarious. Great wrestler, one of my favorites.
Rob - the flip flop thing sounds hilarious. Classic!

Taylor is definitely comedy gold. His attempts at scaring kids always cracks me up.

At a PWG show, just after LOTF 3 was out, I was sitting in the front row and had my Austin Aries card in my hand. Chuck was thrown out and walked by my holding his head. In a split second he ripped the card out of my hand and tossed it two rows back. It was super funny.

Saw CT tonight in Williamsport. Icarus was forced to fill in for Gargano who didn't make it. He did his usual yelling things to the crowd. He screamed at some little kid "I'm gonna kill you!" Taylor has signed both of his game cards for me.

It happened at Night One of the 2010 Battle of Los Angeles during Chuck Taylor's First Round match against Joey Ryan (who went on to win the entire tournament that year.) In all honesty, although I also really like and respect Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw is also really high on my list too, Chuck Taylor might be my favorite CHIKARA wrestler although that is probablly partly because (especially now that Claudio Castagnoli has joined the WWE) he is the CHIKARA wrestler I get to see wrestle the most often as he is also a PWG regular. As Rob, Payback, Jmello, and Dayton Dave can tell you, I wore my black grenade Chuck Taylor shirt to the CHIKARA show in Chicago last summer.  |
