Last year, the NBA was probably my second favorite sporting event; right behind football. I was optimistic during the season that the owners and players would come to an agreement and avoid the lockout. But; they didn't. So, months after a very public and brutal lockout; they finally decide to "play ball".
And I honestly don't care that much. Sure, I'll check into the occasional game and keep up with the stats but there are so many things to keep interest now a days. The NHL, the resurgence of baseball, college basketball, soccer, UFC....hell, show me a volleyball game and I'll probably watch that too.
NBA; as a collective, you guys Effed yourselves. Not quite as bad as baseball, but you still effed up anyway.

The last two years I was into the NBA and I'm sure I'll keep my eye on it, but the spark has fizzled. I agree with you PS that there are other sporting events that are much better and even non-sporting shows that surpass the NBA game. I think sooner or later one of these Leagues will fold and the NBA has the best chance of doing that, but overall we'll see how this effect ticket sales for the next few years...

The lock out didn't help the NBA at all and probably lost some fans because of it. I'm ready for basketball to get going again. When there is nothing on TV you can always find a good NBA game to watch. Plus I miss watching Inside the NBA on TNT. I love the banter between Kenny, Ernie and Barkley.

for the NBA, I mostly watch the Lakers (my favorite NBA team) and the Clippers (especially since they have Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon) because they are the teams whose games are often televised here in Las Vegas Sine I get to watch Smackdown on my LCD TV the same time as the East Coast which here in Nevada is from 5:00-7:00 locally, I can then watch the Friday night Lakers home games (there is usually at least 2 of those per month) that start at 7:00 or 7:30. But for the past 3 years, I have been far more into college basketball than the NBA and I would never turn off a UNLV game to watch an NBA game.

No I don't care if they come back and play this season or not. Even shortened they'll still make the playoffs last as long as usual.

I've always preferred college to pro myself...a lot less drama...usually.

I dont really care much about the NBA until the playoffs and really would bother watching any games before Christmas anyway, so really for me I think this worked out fine. I think they should always start this late and maybe extend into the summer, as it is a summer sport. I'm sure it hurt a little, but not as bad as baseball or hockey had to recover from.
