I just up and purchased Early Classics and Classics 2074. Is it worth it to start fro the VERY beginning....? How wll are the early characters fleshed out? I understand from other posts that the Melesky boys did an EXCELLENT job with this ... but your input would help. And two more questions.... How many characters are there in EC? May I use the most recent and advanced charts with EC? Thanks beforehand.

can't remember how many cards (20-25 maybe) but as you already have seen, they did a great job. Each of the characters has their active years in the GWF and a back story.

What I like about Early Classics (I'm in 2077) is the less-structured approach to teams and feuds and the like. While there definitely are guidelines, it's easy to go off book and do what you want. Plus having all the backstory is essential for a completist like me. So yeah, worth it for sure.

DEFINITELY worth it.
If for no other reason, then because you REALLY appreciate the Star Warrior-Thantos-Omega-Morpheus story a TON more.

Yes, it is worth it. Screw, Torin Caelum, K.O. Keller, Morpheus, Omega (Prime)...the list goes on. It is a great set to play.

You'll never see Star Warrior the same again; he came THIS CLOSE to being a cocky, arrogant heel who thought the GWF owed him something. Just look at the drawing by Werner..you could even make the argument that if Thantos hadn't turned... Anyway..a resounding YES. The story is amazing. the characters are great and really fit the era being portrayed. The art is great. And for anyone who is a COTG metaverse fan, this is a must own.

I must say all this talk about the early Classic era has me intrigued. If I were still playing the game regularly I’d strongly consider picking it up…but my game has fallen off the past few years so we’ll have to wait and see.
The idea of having a richer history is a very appealing idea though…even though mine currently ends sometime around 2092 (save for New Beginning era stuff)

Early Classics is absolutely worth it.
I started my current GWF fed back in late 2004 or real early 2005 with Early Classics and just earlier this year finally got all caught up to 2122 in my GWF fed so I have a complete history from 2074-2122.
Playing out the Early Classics years from 2074-2086 really does strengthen your fed's history. In fact, as I mentioned in another recent thread here about the Early Classics Period, there are still actually some records set by Omega and other wrestlers in my Early Classics Period that remain unbroken today in 2122 and now going into 2123.
