Wooooooo, who could have predicted having today off would be such a good thing. Sure enough thoug 2127 arrived. Won't give spoilers, but damn. 2127 is a game changer for sure.

Yes, it is. It's hard to comment without spoiling too much, but I can hardly wait to break out the dice, finish up that last pivotal card of 2126, and get into 2127. Full review to come. Right now I'm just trying to figure out which Betrayer I like better.
Here's another non-spoiler: every drawing in this set is amazing and the new game mechanic is nuts. A few wrestlers lost in the shuffle for a couple of years have been made instantly relevant again and some more who were on the brink of main event status have now officially been elevated.
Now, I have to go read the book again and figure out how to get 2127 started.

It's definitely a first. The laser like focus of this set leaves no room for those sort of "just there" characters; every card has a purpose, fits in, and drives the storyline for the year. There are no Scimitar updates or US Male downgrades here; every card is relevant.

WARNING! SPOILERS BELOW.
Got it, played it, posted first card. Tom took a few of guys lost in the Infinity Challenge, a few guys lost in the main roster shuffle, and combined them with some serious shockers (upgrading already strong cards) to form the coolest and probably best (definitely biggest) super team in GWF history.
And the writing is sensational. Tom ties things together here dating back 5+ years. Havoc's entire past and every tumultuous relationship he's ever had in the GWF led up this to set and this card. That's just one example. And my favorite character/story in the set.
Story, art, stats this set has more effort and passion put into it than any set before and it really shows. One look and you can tell why Tom wasn't able to wait a whole year to release it.
The Black Death game mechanic is ballsy and innovative. Can't wait to start reading people's results and see how Black Death handles it the first time their core is shaken and who's the one to break through. I'm sure everyone will have a different hero be the first to crack the code so to speak.

I don't have a whole lot to add here except to say that this is the deepest TAG TEAM division the GWF has had since...ever? And it's a great healthy mix of "natural" tag teams like the Master Race and Glads and Ultimate Fighters and "mix and match" teams like most of the BD guys. Great to see tag wrestling at a peak in the GWF at a time when it's faded from real-life.

Spoilers below:
I really love what Tom's done with each of the Black Death characters. The BD mechanic is so different that I can see how it will have a major impact on how things go... but you don't know when or how.
As for the new cards, Havoc, Coven Black and Anivar are awesome updates for characters that fell short of their potential so far in my fed (although Havoc was by far the most successful for me). My favorite so far has to be the Betrayer... that dude just went from rudderless roster-filler (since Sly dumped him) to absolutely SICK!
I'm still a bit behind in my fed, but seeing this set has me motivated to catch up in a hurry!

Ordered my online set today! I just finished reading the booklet now, and I have to say best story in the past 10 years, BAR NONE! Super pumped to move through my 2126 fed now, with plenty of motivation to work off of! Great character changes, I must say I didn't see some of them coming, so I like the new twists. Great addition, I hope everyone gets this set soon! Even if you don't play the GWF stuff, this might be one you might want to look at! Historic game mechanics for sure! Kudos Tom!
