With an explosion of positive energy, an exciting new tandem has burst upon the scene. Charismatic youngster Bud Blazon is a stalwart blue chip prodigy. The ever popular Kal Armos serves as mentor and ring general. Together they form the Sol-Can Connection. Catch the fever as Bud & Kal look to electrify the Classics Era tag division, and capture a few hearts along the way!Credit Todd Huske aka highexodusSOL-CAN CONNECTIONBUD BLAZON6’1” 236 lbs. Nice to have yet another tag team, but these guys (and especially the art) seem a little too much like the Martel/Zenk Can-Am Connection. That's not to say I wouldn't use them, but more of an observation.
Any thoughts?

Yeah, they are a tribute of sorts to the old Can-Ams. So I envisioned them in that regards.

Yeah, they are a tribute of sorts to the old Can-Ams. So I envisioned them in that regards. Who knows what would have happened had Tom Zenk not left his partner high and dry? On paper TZ had a lot of positives (great look, youth, athleticism). Maybe Bud Blazon will show the way!

they do look interesting. Sometimes tributes can be really nice.

I got into wrestling right when Martel was looking for a new partner. I was a huge Strike Force mark and still remember watching Niedhart submit to Martel's Boston Crab to give them the belts! I thought "Eat THAT Tom Zenk!" LOL. Poor Tom Zenk. He had a small run in AWA as the runner-up to Zbyszko in the 1989 World Title battle royal and then became the Z-Man. I'll stop there. Looking forward to using these guys! Yeah, they are a tribute of sorts to the old Can-Ams. So I envisioned them in that regards. Hey, Z-Man beat Arn Anderson for the World TV title if I remember correctly.

Tom Zenk quit WWF when he found out Rick Martel was getting paid more than him even though Rick Martel was the veteran name that made that team a draw and Zenk was just riding his coattails playing the guy that looked like Martel's younger brother. This could be played for an interesting angle if Bud Blazon finds out he's getting paid less than Cal Armos.

I find it funny still that The "Z-Man" was called Zmin by a certain WCW announcer...to the point where Schivoni actually started correcting him. Which announcer would do that in WCW?

Hey, Z-Man beat Arn Anderson for the World TV title if I remember correctly. He sure did Ty. He also won the U.S. Tag Team Titles with Brian Pillman. It's just that he seemed like he could've been a main eventer but WCW buried him in the lower mid-card.
