Has anybody ran or currently run their LWF as a studio wrestling promotion? I have thought about running a Georgia territory with all of my cards being one hour studio wrestling events; four matches with ringside promos. I think it would be great for those with little time, or for those wanting to run a small roster. I didn't grow up in this era, but I really enjoy watching the studio wrestling that's been uploaded to YouTube! Well, I'm just wondering if anybody does or has run their LWF in this fashion.

There was one Fed posted not too long ago that was modeled on the old late 70's/early 80's Georgia Championship Wrestling show syndicated on WTBS: GWF Wrestling: robtoxinCommentary & promo intensive!

A few years ago, wildfire put together a cooperative federation utilizing LOW and bootlegs. It was a very fun project where we bid for rosters, etc.
Anyway, I ran a studio fed for a year with, on average, an hour long Saturday morning show and 2 house shows a week. It was 'as I remembered wrestling'.
My normal set up for the studio show was 3 matches. Two squash matches and a competative match between mid-level to upper mid-level talent. There was also 2-3 interview segments and a highlight/review segment for the announcer covering the big happenings at the house shows. All the promos, etc. were geared to drawing people to the house shows.
I really like this setup because you can consintrate teh storylines in one show yet still have many matches at the house shows.
Here's a couple of examples: Smoky Mountain Saturday WTVK Television April 5, 2008 10:00am
Wrestling clips are shown…"Don't change that channel all that flippin' around! You're about to see the hottest show in town. The biggest stars and the biggest brawls, the biggest hits and the biggest falls. Non-stop action no messin' around, pretty soon we're comin' to your town. The way you like it way it used to be...Smokey Mountain Wrestling's on TV."
Big Jim Hess describes the action from last night’s matches… (Brief video rolls featuring LWA World’s Champion, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair defeating Barry Horowitz)… (Flair)…Woooooo…World’s HEAVY-weight Champion…The Nature Boy…what is causing all this…the Nature Boy in Johnson City…wooooooo… (Hess)...Dusty Rhodes fell short in his bid to capture the SMW title from Ole Anderson… (Ole)…Rhodes…you can run around and call yourself the American Dream…but that doesn’t get you he title off a real man’s waist… (Hess)…The Midnight Express hold onto their SMW Tag belts in a DQ win over the Brain Busters (Cornette)…listen up, goofs…just cause you can beat the other teams in the SMW…that doesn’t mean that you are in the same league as the Midnight Express!
Big Jim Hess welcomes Thunderbolt Patterson… (Hess)…Thunderbolt…last night the fans were excited to se you in a tough match with “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas…but Scott “Flash” Norton made his presence known… (Patterson)….ooooooh…that Scott Norton…Norton…you made me so mad…I had Tony Atlas right where I wanted him…oooooo…and you had to stick your nose in my bid’ness…oooooo…for two cents I’d…(Norton appears)… (Norton)…you’d what…listen you dried up old man…if you think you’re so tough…right there is a ring…meet me there and prove it to me…right here…right now.
Scott “Flash” Norton v Thunderbolt Patterson Patterson starts with hard rights to Norton…T-BONE CLUTCH…Norton and Patterson brawl on the floor…here comes Tony Atlas…all three men brawl to the back.
“American Dream” Dusty Rhodes joins Bug Jim Hess…(Dusty’s left arm is in a sling)… (Rhodes)…Big Jim…for weeks…I have been tellin’ you and the fine people at home…that Paul Jones was the snake in our garden…but last week…the Dream stood face to face with pure evil…an evil that the Dream never knew existed…that is what makes it true evil…evil isn’t the man standing across the line shooting at you…no…pure evil is the man that calls you friend…the man that shakes your hand and stands toe to toe with you as you battle others…only to turn traitor on his ‘friend’…a Benedict Arnold…a Judas, if you will…last night…that Judas…Arn Anderson, I’m talkin’ about you…that Judas tried to take me out…but just when they thought they killed the beast…the beast will arise again…(pointing with his left arm out of the sling)…Ole Anderson…this Friday I face you for the SMW title again…and the Dream is still alive, baby…still kickin’…as long as the Dream breaths…he lives…and this week…I made a few calls…and I’ll have a friend…a true friend, Arn Anderson…to watch the Dream’s back…so, Andersons…you better be ready…for the Dream is riding after you…on his horse called Nightmare!
“Mr. 1derful” Paul Orndorff w/ “#1” Paul Jones v Ilio DiPaolo Forearm clotheslines level DiPaolo…suplex by Orndorff…kick out…body slam by Ilio…leg nelson on Orndorff…big right hands by DiPaolo…forearm clothesline by Orndorff…kick out…shoulder tackle on DiPaolo…PILEDRIVER…kick out…rope climb headlock takeover by DiPaolo…running head ram into buckle…kick out….rope climb headlock takeover…forearm clothesline on DiPaolo…PILEDRIVER…1…2…3..Paul Orndorff gets the win.
Paul Jones gets in the ring and raises the hand of Paul Orndorff…Orndorff soaks up the applause…THEN LEVEL JONES WITH A CLOTHESLINE!
A pi**ed off Paul Orndorff joins Big Jim Hess… (Orndorff)…Jones…you sniveling pipsqueak…since you have ran Jone’s Army…I have lost the TV Title…Buff Bagwell has lost the TV title…and Curt Hennig lost one of the biggest matches in his life in a cage against Ricky Steamboat…face it, Jones…you ain’t nothing but a wrestling wannabe…and Mr. 1derful ain’t gonna’ wait for you to screw me out of my big match again.
“The Enforcer” Arn Anderson© v “Sweet” Stan Lane w/ Jim Cornette SMW TV Title Match Lane tries a hair pull takeover on Anderson…that just makes Arn mad as he pulls Lane to the floor…and rams him into the interview table…Lane wins by DQ.
Big Jim Hess welcomes LWA World’s Champion, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair… (Flair)…BI-ag…woooooooo…JY-am Hess…it’s great to be the Nature Boy…Nick Bockwinkel…you are a great wrestler…but you aren’t the Nature Boy…and as I told all these folks at home…nobody…nobody beats the Nature Boy…now look here…I have right here the latest in the LWA rankings…I want you to see…where the competition is for the Nature Boy…Bobo Brazil…sorry…anyone named Bobo just doesn’t have the class needed to carry this belt…Ultimo Dragon…give up the Halloween gimmick and get in the real world…Hercules Hernandez…why don’t you beat somebody …then we’ll talk…Papa Shango…a witchdoctor…you got to be kidding me…Billy Watson…Iron Sheik…Don Leo Jonathan…Masato Tanaka…Bison Smith…the list goes on and on…but none of these jerks can hold a candle to the Nature Boy…in my mind…there is one…and only one man that has the class…the skills…and the guts to even be in the ring with the Nature Boy…and it ain’t one of these guys…next week…right here on SMW Saturday…I’ll tell you who that man is…and who the next opponent for this belt will be…until then…it’s great to be the Nature Boy…woooooooo… (Hess)…Nature Boy… (Flair)…Wooooooooo!

I haven't ever tried that approach, but maybe I will with my southern Legends fed, starting soon.
