After several years of not playing COTG, my boys (six and eight) discovered the game, and are now playing it with me. With that, I'm getting into the game again--I have tons of editions starting with the original 1987 set, and need some info/advice:
1) How many events do you run per edition? In other words, how many events/cards would have you for the original set before moving into the next one?
2) How many titles do you use for your feds?
3) Do you use any rankings/ratings at all to determine contenders/title shots?
I hope those questions made sense.
It's nice to be back.
Matt

Welcome back! You'll find as many answers to those questions as there are people on this board... I think everyone does things their own way, and way, like me, have done things all sorts of ways... I'd recommend browsing the fed forum, that'll give you some good ideas

Welcome back!
My best advice to help answer those questions are to look around at peoples feds in the Fed Forum like wildfire suggested.
Glad to see more and more old Promoters returning to the game!

Welcome back Matt
1) How many events do you run per edition? In other words, how many events/cards would have you for the original set before moving into the next one? I USED TO PLAY AS MANY CARDS AS I HAD TIME FOR. NO SPECIFIC NUMBER OF CARDS PER YEAR. NOW I DO THE SAME SINCE I AM UP TO DATE WITH THE ADDITIONS
2) How many titles do you use for your feds? DEPENDS ON THE ROSTER YOU USE. MOST USED TITLES INCLUDE GWF WORLD, INTERPLANETARY,HARDCORE AND TAG TITLES. YOU CAN ALSO USE THE HOLOVISION(TV) AND CRUISERWEIGHT TITLES AS WELL AS THE LADIES BELT
3) Do you use any rankings/ratings at all to determine contenders/title shots? I RANK BY A POINT SYSTEM AND THE RANKINGS AREN'T DETERMINED ON WON/LOST AS MUCH AS POINTS
POINTS SYSTEM IS
WIN BY PINFALL OR SUBMISSION-4 POINTS WIN BY DQ/CO 3 POINTS DRAW-1 POINT LOSE-NO POINTS TITLE WIN-6 POINTS SUCCESSFUL TITLE DEFENSE-5 POINTS BEATING THE CHAMP(NON TITLE,DQ,ETC)-5 POINTS

Matt, I didn't know you played...Welcome. How I did it is to start off with just a couple of titles, build up that history and work into adding more titles to the fed. I don't get to play too often. so run as many cards as your comfortable with or that time allows. Good getting the kids involved. If you need any help or questions drop me a line.
