Backstage: On the way to the ring for his match, Ed "Strangler" Lewis tells Bob Roop that Roop is lucky Lewis, unlike Roop, is still in the Gold Rush Tournament or he would be personally teaching Roop a lesson tonight.
Match #7, Gold Rush Tournament Second Round/Quarter-Finals: Ed "Strangler" Lewis defeated the Boogie Woogie Man

Match #8, Gold Rush Tournament Second Round/Quarter-Finals: Bobo Brazil defeated Don Leo Jonathan
- DLJ was in control early but the end came when DLJ threw Brazil into the turnbuckle and Brazil raised his boots to kick a charging DLJ in the face. Brazil then won via his COCO BUTT to advance to next week's Semi-Finals where he will face Ed "Strangler" Lewis.
- Can Brazil, who back on RAW in 2006 won the Gold Rush Tournament, also win the Gold Rush Tournament here on Smackdown?
Match #9: Antonino Rocca defeated Dan "the Beast" Severn in a United States Championship #1 contender's match

Match #10, the main event: Road Warriors defeated Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff (both managed by Nikita Breznikov) in a tag team hardcore match.
- A great violent match that ended when Road Warrior Hawk pinned Koloff via a gorilla press slam.
- As the fans cheer the Road Warriors' victory over their enemies Koloff and Volkoff, tonight's edition of Friday Night Smackdown comes to an end.

Halloween Havoc Promo: MLW's EAWA brand will present a new MLW PPV called Halloween Havoc on Sunday October 25th!

It's now time for MLW's RAW brand to present Unforgiven!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) Unforgiven (presented by MLW's RAW brand) Sunday September 20, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (First Third of the PPV) (Promoter's Note: All match ratings are based on a 4 star system).
Dark Match: The French Angel Maurice Tillet defeated Johnny Rodz
- Tillet won without too much trouble via his BEAR HUG.
Match #1: Jushin Liger defeated Cruiserweight Champion Pepper Gomez, Gorgeous George, Konnan, The Mountie, and S.D. Jones in a cruiserweight scramble match.
First Five Minutes: Liger and Jones started off the match. No pinfalls or submissions occurred during this time.
Second Five Minutes: Gomez joined the action. No pinfalls or submissions occurred during this 5 minute segment.
Third Five Minutes: The Mountie joined the action. During this time, current champion Gomez pinned Jones via his MEXICAN CRADLE.
Fourth Five Minutes: George joined the action. During this time period Gomez again pinned Jones but this time via an airplane spin and Liger pinned The Mountie twice- the first time via a LIGER BOMB and the second time via a BRAINBUSTER.
Fifth/Final Five Minutes: Konnan became the final participant to join the action. During this time period Liger twice more pinned The Mountie- the first time by another LIGER BOMB and then by a FISHERMAN'S BUSTER. As the final seconds took place, George had Gomez trapped in a figure four leglock but couldn't get Gomez to tap out prior to the bell.***
- As a result of being the last man to score a pinfall/submission in the scramble, Liger wins the Cruiserweight Championship and this is Liger's first reign as Cruiserweight Champion here in Major League Wrestling!
Match #2: B. Brian Blair defeated Jim Brunzell
- An outstanding high flying and scientific matchup between these two former tag team partners that included multiple pin/submission attempts by both Bees. The end came when Blair finally put Brunzell away via his SLEEPER. *** 1/2
- Afterward, Blair helped Brunzell to his feet and apologized for his actions the previous week on RAW and offered to reform the Killer Bees with Brunzell. Brunzell took Blair's hand to accept the offer and the crowd started chanting "Bee Up! Bee Up! Bee Up!" in approval.
Match #3: Penny Banner defeated Ladies Champion Sherri Martel and Ida Mae Martinez in a triple threat match.
- A good match that saw Banner get the win and thus the Ladies Championship when she pinned Martel via a SUNSET FLIP. ***
- As a result, Martel's extensive reign as Ladies Champion, which had been the longest current title reign in Major League Wrestling, is now finally over.
End of First Third. Second Third will be posted next and includes Exotic Adrian Street vs Rick Rude, MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos defending their title against Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr., Diamond Dallas Page and John Pesek, Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake, the Love Brothers, the Body Donnas, and Yukon Eric and Cousin Luke in a 6 way elimination tag match, and Jimmy Snuka vs his enemy the Masked Superstar in a dog collar match!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Unforgiven (presented by MLW's RAW brand) Sunday September 20, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Second Third of the PPV, First Third is posted above) (Promoter's Note: All match ratings are based on a 4 star system).
Match #4: Rick Rude (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) defeated Exotic Adrian Street
- Rude got his revenge against Street via the RUDE AWAKENING. *
Match #5: MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo) defeated Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. (both managed by Sherri Martel), Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake, Diamond Dallas Page and John Pesek, the Love Brothers, the Body Donnas (both managed by Tammy) and Yukon Eric and Cousin Luke (both accompanied by Ida Mae Martinez) in an elimination tag match.
First Elimination: Yukon Eric and Cousin Luke when Reginald Love pinned Yukon Eric following a DOUBLE SLAM.
Second Elimination: Love Brothers when Hartford Love got counted out
Third Elimination: Diamond Dallas Page and John Pesek when Chris Candido pinned DDP via a superplex and a handful of tights.
Fourth Elimination: Muraco and Orton Jr. when Al Costello, survived 4 pinfall attempts from Muraco to tag in Roy Heffernan who proceeded to make Muraco tap out to his STEP OVER TOEHOLD.
Fifth Elimination: Valentine and Beefcake when Tom Prichard pinned Beefcake via a FOREIGN OBJECT.
Sixth/Final Elimination: Body Donnas. Candido and Prichard put up a surprisingly awesome contest against the Kangaroos and a few times nearly won the MLW Tag Team Championship. But the end came when the action spilled outside of the ring where the referee caught Tammy hitting Costello with a steel chair to get the Body Donnas DQd.*** 1/2
- With this impressive victory tonight in defeating the odds stacked against them, the Kangaroos (who won the MLW Tag Team Championship from the New Age Outlaws at last year's Unforgiven) have now successfully completed a one year reign as the tag champs here on RAW. Will they be able to make it two years in a row?
Match #6: Jimmy Snuka defeated the Masked Superstar in a dog collar match.
- Snuka once again defeated one of his enemies here in MLW in his signature dog collar match when he scored the pinfall over the Masked Superstar via the SUPERFLY LEAP in a surprisingly short match. *1/2.
End of Second Third. Final Third will be posted next and includes Mil Mascaras vs Intercontinental Champion The Sheik, World Champion Bruiser Brody vs Jim Londos, and MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs Nick Bockwinkel in a Hell in a Cell match!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Unforgiven (presented by MLW's RAW brand) Sunday September 20, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Final Third of the PPV, First Third and Second Third are both posted above) (Promoter's Note: All match ratings are based on a 4 star system).
Match #7: Mil Mascaras (accompanied by Bobo Brazil) defeated Intercontinental Champion The Sheik (managed by Abdullah Farouk).
- Still seeking his first-ever MLW title, Mascaras was facing his last chance to win the Intercontinental Championship during The Sheik's current reign.
- Brazil, Mascaras's best friend and tag team partner in the Brothers of Other Mothers, who is currently on Smackdown, made a surprise appearance to be in the corner of Mascaras during his last chance to win the Intercontinental Championship!
- Great match that saw both men go on impressive offensive runs with a total of 10 unsuccessful pin/submission attempts.
- At one point, The Sheik hit Mascaras with a FIREBALL right in front of the referee who called for the bell to disqualify The Sheik. Since this was his last chance to win the Intercontinental Championship during The Sheik's current reign, Mascaras looked frustrated and disappointed until RAW General Manager Bob Backlund showed up to announce that, since this was Mascaras's last chance to win the Intercontinental Championship, The Sheik would not be allowed to take the cheap way out and ordered this match to continue!
- Mascaras proceeded to win the match via his FLYING BODY PRESS and, during the pinfall, from outside of the ring, Brazil gave Farouk a COCO BUTT to prevent him from making the pin save via interference. The Sheik's Intercontinental Championship reign, which began at Wrestlemania 2, is now over.****
- Afterward, to a standing ovation, Brazil helped his best friend Mascaras (an MLW original) celebrate his first-ever title in Major League Wrestling!
Match #8: Frank Gotch defeated Harley Race (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) in a last man standing match.
- In this match, this Feud of the Year candidate (Gotch vs Race) put on a Match of a Year Candidate!
- Early in this match, when he caught Heenan trying to interfere on Race's behalf, the referee ordered both Heenan and Baker to leave the ringside area.
- In this match, Gotch somehow incredibly was able to survive 8 PILEDRIVERS from Race while he kept wearing Race down via rolling kneebars and his GOTCH TOEHOLD until Race was finally unable to answer the 10 count.****
(Promoter's Note: In this last man standing match, when Race's PIN reached 12 for him to lose, Gotch's PIN was at 11- so it was as close as it could possibly get!)
Match #9: World Champion Bruiser Brody defeated Jim Londos
- Before this match began, fellow fan favorites Brody and Londos shook hands.
- This was a really good match that saw Londos give an impressive performance by executing a completely different style than Brody. Both men scored near pinfalls/submissions against the other, but Brody picked up the win once he hit Londos with his JUMPING KNEE DROP. *** 1/2
- In a night that saw 3 title changes, only Brody and the Fabulous Kangaroos leave Unforgiven with their titles on RAW still intact.
Match #10, the main event: Nick Bockwinkel (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) defeated MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino in a Hell in a Cell match!
- Both Sammartino and Bockwinkel slammed each other into the sides of the Cell with Sammartino at one point intensely grinding Bockwinkel's face into one of the Cell's walls.
- The end came when Sammartino climbed high up the Cell to attempt a deathjump only to crash hard onto the mat when Bockwinkel rolled out of the way. Bockwinkel then immediately applied his BOCKWINKEL'S SLEEPER to win the match and thus his feud with Sammartino. ** 1/2.
End of Show. See you next weekend for more MLW action!
