Andre The Giant (1) v. Bobby Eaton (48) w/Jim Cornette
The fans are all over Cornette and Eaton as the come to the ring. Andre takes several minutes greeting fans on his way to the ring. Eaton tries everything to get the Giant off his feet but Andre is just too big. Andre rocks the fans with a dropkick and later comes off the second rope with a forearm smash that knocks Eaton into next week. BIG SPLASH but Cornette causes a distraction and gets a headbutt from the Giant for his trouble. Ringside explodes. Andre then hits a second BIG SPLASH for the easy three count (R3/P9). Thanks for the feedback Kamala. Andre is on fire. Lets see who he will face in the next round.
Frank Gotch (9) v. Jim Londos (40)
Londos has the majority of the fans support but both men are cheered when they shake hands at the bell. The action opens with a series of perfect counters by both men. Gotch takes control outside the ring Irish whipping Londos into the ring rails and then later body slamming Londos on the area floor. The fans, hoping for a scientific classic, turn on Gotch. Gotch works the leg with a series of rolling kneebars. Londos finally gets an opening and works Gotch’s arm with short arm scissors and a grinding arm bar. Gotch is nearly counted out of the ring after a crotch lift and slam at ringside. Londos then whips Gotch into the ring rails that results in another near count-out. The fans are not pleased with Londos at first but then seem to accept that either man will do whatever it takes to make it to the next round. Londos goes back to the grinding arm bar but Gotch is able to counter out (R12/P3). Londos then attempts to finish off Gotch with a BOSTON CRAB but Gotch hangs on (R12/P4). AIRPLANE SPIN. 1, 2, Gotch kicks out (R8/P7). The match evens out and becomes an exchange of counters. Londos with a tackle in the corner and then catches Gotch in another AIRPLANE SPIN for a 2 ¾ count (R10/P8). The fans thought it was over. Londos goes right back to the AIRPLANE SPIN a third time and once again Gotch finds a way to get his shoulder up at the last possible second (R10/P9). Londos traps Gotch in a BOSTON CRAB. Twice it looks like Gotch might make it to the ropes but Londos drags Gotch back to the middle of the ring each time until Gotch finally submits (R8/P8)

Giant Baba (13) v. Jimmy Valiant (61) w/Captain Lou Albano
The fans rally behind the tall Japanese legend as he makes his way to ringside. Valiant looks impressive early on and opens a nasty cut above Baba’s eye with a head slam to post. Later, Baba returns the favour at ringside running Valiant into the ring post busting him open. The action goes in and out of the ring and Valiant wins the battle on the floor. Baba kicks out after a SUPER ELBOW (R8/P3). Valiant seems content to do most of his damage at ringside. An atomic drop in the ring gives Valiant a 2 count (R5/P3). Baba barely kicks out after a second SUPER ELBOW (R5/P7). The fans are desperate for Baba to get something going and he finally does winning a brawl on the floor with series of chops. Baba gives Albano and Valiant a noggin knocker at ringside and the fans love it. Baba with a shoulder tackle in the corner and then a piledriver for a 1 count (R9/P3). The action goes back and forth with Valiant punching and Baba chopping. A Baba Chop downs Valiant for a 2 count (R9/P4). Baba connects with a deathjump and then takes out Valiant with a NECKBREAKER DROP. Albano causes a distraction to keep Valiant alive in the tournament. Valiant tries for a deathjump smash but Baba counters with a boot to the chin. Baba connects with a boot to the face followed by a Baba Chop. A back suplex downs Valiant but Albano enters the ring and distracts Baba. The referee has had enough and calls for the disqualification. Baba takes out both Valiant and Albano with chops while the fans cheer each blow.

Terry Gordy (12) v. Diamond Dallas Page (37)
The fan support for Page seems to grow in intensity each round. Page once again comes through the crowd but as he comes over the ring rails Gordy is waiting for him and we start with a brawl on the floor. Gordy eats the ringside table and the action goes to the ring. It is all Page from the bell with the fans cheering each blow and clothesline. Gordy is finally able to reverse a whip into the corner however, Page catches Gordy mounting the corner moment later and tosses him to the mat. Gordy regains control at ringside and then plants Page with a PILEDRIVER in the middle of the ring for a 2 count (R9/P5). Gordy follows with a POWERBOMB for another two count (R8/P6). Page reverses a whip into the ring post at ringside and Gordy is busted open. Gordy manages to catch Page climbing the buckles and tosses him to the mat. Gordy applies the ORIENTAL SPIKE but Page is close enough to the ropes to stay alive (R7/P5). PILEDRIVER. 1, 2, 3 (R6/P8).

Eaton and Cornette are both removed on stretchers. Simple and to the point. Classic! Tough loss for DDP, but Gordy was smart to jump on him right away and not let him get going. Great stuff!

Killer Kowalski (18) v Rikidozan (34)
The fans get behind the father of Japanese wrestling from the outset. Rikidozan gets the early advantage and downs his much larger opponent with THUNDEROUS CHOPS for a 2 ½ count (R6/P5). Rikidozan moves immediately to a Boston Crab that does not get the job done (R9/P4). Kowalski is able to backdrop Rikidozan to the floor and then comes out after him throwing Rikidozan into the ring steps. Rikidozan is able to catch Kowalski climbing the corner and tosses him to the mat. Rikidozan takes the battle to the floor and works his opponent over with chops that has the fans buzzing. Back inside, Rikidozan puts Kowalski’s shoulders to the mat with a HIPLOCK (R4/P5) for the three count. Now both finalists from the last tournament are out.
