One thing I love about the Booker Bill Tournaments is the unpredictability that runs throughout the entire tournament. It makes it hard to get behind one guy or another as the tournament plays out.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.
I really feel that the unpredictability is a result of the dice (obviously) but also there is really very little difference in the quality of the cards. There is only a difference of 10 Rohl Rating points between the 18th seed and the 64th seed. The difference between the 4th seed and the 18th seed is also 10 points so outside of Andre and Thesz or maybe Mascaras, it is anyone’s tournament to win.
Rob Van Dam (5) w/Bill Alfonso v. Curt Hennig w/The Genius (60) Van Dam has the fans behind him as the action gets underway. He scores early with a choke slam (ch) for a 1 count (R7/P2). A Van Daminator knocks Hennig senseless and has the fans roaring. Hennig goes into the ropes and rebounds with a perfect cross body block for a 2 count (R4/P1). Things even out after this until Van Dam gets tangled in the ropes. Genius chokes out Van Dam from outside but the referee sees it and calls for the disqualification. For the second time in the opening round we have three disqualification finishes in a row as the top half of the tournament closes out.
The bottom half of the draw opens up with Lou Thesz (2) v Dick Hutton (63)

Glad to see RVD advance but would have liked to see a pin fall or submit. 3 DQs in a row. WOW!! Great tourney so far. Keep up the great work.

Lou Thesz (2) v Dick Hutton (63)
Loads of respect between these two competitors and the fans show their appreciation for the opening handshake. Thesz is quicker than Hutton who holds a slight power advantage. A brief exchange of counters impresses ringside and then Thesz uses an airplane spin to send Hutton to the floor. Hutton regains the ring and Thesz is ready with a GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP to move onto the next round (R5/P5). Up Next: Warlord (31) v. The Crusher (34)

Sounds like Thesz dominated Hutton. Can't wait to see how The Crusher matches up against the Warlord

I'm picking The Crusher over The Warlord in the next bout. I liked the solid win by Lou Thesz and it was cool to see RVD advance to the next round. The 64-Man Legends Tournament is rolling now.

Thanks again for the feedback everyone
Warlord (31) v. The Crusher (34)
A battle of a couple heavy hitters was up next with the winner moving onto face Lou Thesz in the next round. There is nothing pretty about this one from the outset and the fans eat it up. Warlord gets the upper hand with a solid power attack that included forearms and slams. A running power slam gets a 2 count (R4/P2) and shakes the ring. Warlord follows with another running powerslam but Crusher kicks out at 2 (R8/P3). It is all Warlord as he beats on the crusher from pillar to post. The fans are frantic for a comeback and it finally comes when Crusher is able to catch Warlord in a bear hug that forces Warlord to the floor. Outside, Crusher cracks his opponent across the back with a chair. A deathjump smash sets up a CRUSHER BOLO but Warlord kicks out of the cover (R8/P6). Warlord gets trapped in the ropes and Crusher moves in with a series of punches with the fans cheering each one. The referee steps in and Crusher has a punch for him as well. The match ends on a disqualification but Crusher continues to hammer away on Warlord until security fills the ring.
Next bout . . . . Road Warrior Hawk (18).w/Paul Ellering v. Jim Londos (47)

Road Warrior Hawk (18) w/Paul Ellering v. Jim Londos (47)
Hawk shows why he is the defending champion in this tournament by manhandling Londos early on including a press slam at ringside sending Londos back into the ring. Hawk connects with a FLYING CLOTHESLINE for a 1 count (R7/P2) and then mounts the corner a second time. However, Londos is able to shake the ropes and Hawk crashes to the mat. Londos then applies a BOSTON CRAB but Hawk powers out (R8/P2). The match goes to the floor and Hawk battering rams Londos into the ring post. The fans are livid but the action continues back inside with a gut wrench suplex for a near fall (R10/P2). Hawk hits another gut wrench suplex followed by a gorilla press slam in the middle of the ring drawing plenty of flash bulbs from ringside. Cover for 2 ½ (R6/P3). Londos crumbles to the floor and Hawk is out after him. Hawk goes for another battering ram into the post but Londos drops down and shoves the Road Warrior into the steel. Huge pop! The advantage is short lived as Hawk brawls his way back into control and connects with another FLYING CLOTHESLINE. 1, 2, kick out (R9/P4). Hawk throws everything at Londos including dropkicks, clotheslines, suplexes and submissions but Londos just keeps hanging on. The fans are eating the action up. Hawk mounts the corner and FLYING CLOTHESLINE downs Londos again. 1, 2, kick out (R11/P6). A series of deathjump smashes leaves Londos in a heap and Hawk follows with a long vertical suplex. Hawk mounts the corner and delivers yet another FLYING CLOTHESLINE to move onto the next round (R6/P7). The Next Match .... Giant Baba (15) v Al Costello (50) w/Red Berry
