Maybe the most creative booking on the board right now. Awesome stuff.

Pariah - I thought the two year reign of the Premiere Athlete Brand would never come to an end but Team Tremendous lived up to their name. Val's abduction has your booker senses tingling. Is it what it seems or something even more underhanded? Either way, it could have the same result. cruefan68 - Matt Riddle joining the PAB seemed like a good fit. The PAB did not have a good night but they'll get a chance to bounce back on this show. Roddy may not be as distracted as you might think. And that may be the entire point... bookerbill - Thank you for the kind words! Coming from one of the top promoters on the board, I take it as a great compliment! 72 Rob Naylor, shades of very annoying, joined Lenny Leonard on commentary tonight and Lenny had a tough time getting two words in edgewise around the spastic hyperbole of Naylor. Zack Sabre Jr. def. Will Ospreay w/GSAUK veteran Sabre was taking on his upstart countryman Ospreay, who was cornered by his Gulak Shoot Academy teammates, Drew Gulak, Fred Yehi, and EVOLVE Champion Tracy Williams. Ospreay started off with some flashy spots then Sabre took him to school. After winning a struggle on the top turnbuckle, Ospreay went on another spot fest that had the crowd going nuts. Sabre cut it short definitively with a DDT transitioning into a Cross Armbreaker that made Ospreay tap out. As Sabre’s hand was raised, he gave Gulak a wink. Drew got into the ring and confronted Ospreay, explaining something to him about “The Shoot”. The seemingly frustrated Gulak told Will to head to the back as Tracy Williams got into the ring for his match which was next. Timothy Thatcher def. Tracy Williams w/Drew GulakThe introductions were interrupted by Roderick Strong who came out challenging Williams for a rematch for “his” EVOLVE title. Williams was agreeable but Drew Gulak intervened and said that he would be the champion’s gatekeeper tonight and that Roderick would have to go through him first. Strong didn’t seem concerned and told Tracy that he would see him tomorrow night. “Hot Sauce” must have had Strong on his mind because Thatcher made short work of him. Tracy tried a half hatch throw but Tim blocked and took him to the mat, applying a Rocking Chair Surfboard. Williams fought his way out but ended up in a cross armbreaker. As Tracy struggled to escape, Tim switched to the Thatcher Stretch. Williams had nowhere to go and tapped out. The defeat of the newly crowned champion seemed to indicate that the recent tenuous history of the EVOLVE title may continue as Williams headed into his first title defense at EVOLVE 73 with a loss. Ricochet def. Fred YehiWith Drew Gulak likely counselling his other two students after their defeats, Yehi went it alone against “The Future of Flight”. Ricochet lived up to his nickname by hitting Yehi with moves from the top rope over and over again. A 630 Senton finished Fred and the GSA’s night continued its decline. Roderick Strong def. Drew GulakBefore the match started, Gulak sent the rest of the GSA to the back, wanting this to be just between he and Strong. The two jawed at each other before the action began. Strong was the first to land some heavy offense as a half nelson backbreaker set up a Sick Kick for a near fall. A pair of Gibson Drivers put Gulak away. Strong stood gloating over his fallen opponent when his name was spoken over the sound system. “Roderick, Roderick, Roderick…” Strong looked around, expecting another video on the house monitors but instead, standing at the curtain was Marty Scurll. Excitement spread through the crowd as “The Villain” made his anticipated arrival. Strong shouted “Where’s Val?” Marty smirked, letting the tension build. “Your lovely friend is safe and sound. For the moment… But tell me Roderick, how important is that to you? I mean, is her safety your number one priority? Or are you more self-centered than that? I believe you are. Because, inside, when it really comes down to it, we’re all villains. We’ll find out what you are very soon. Very soon indeed.”Strong made a move to go after Scurll, but “The Villain” coolly disappeared back through the curtain leaving the perplexed Strong without answers. The Premiere Athlete Brand def. Drew Galloway & Team TremendousGalloway and Team Tremendous joined forces to take on their mutual rivals in the PAB. Drew wanted revenge for the attack by Riddle that saw him join Anthony Nese and Caleb Konley in the PAB at EVOLVE 71. Galloway and Riddle started things off as Drew attacked Matt after the cocky former MMA star taunted him. Riddle got the upper hand and worked Drew over until he was able to tag out to Bill Carr. With his partner Dan Barry, Carr recently won the DGUSA Open the Freedom Gate Championship from the PAB and they showed Riddle their winning teamwork. Galloway returned to give Riddle a Double Arm DDT for a near fall. The crowd reveled in seeing Riddle take a beating but he finally was able to tag out to Caleb Konley who got a two count after a Home Wrecker on Galloway then tried for a submission with the Oh! Face. Not getting any success, he tagged in Anthony Nese. Nese punished Galloway but missed a 450 Splash, allowing Drew to make the hot tag to Barry. The PAB isolated Barry and Riddle tried for a Heel Hook submission but Carr broke it up. Team Tremendous went back and forth with Riddle then Nese and Galloway had an extended exchange. This titanic confrontation came to a close as Nese weakened Carr for Konley to score the Home Wrecker for the three count. Both teams were exhausted but Galloway still had words for Riddle and swapped verbal barbs with Nese as well.

Looks like the PAB have recovered from losing the tag belts to Team Tremendous... Bouncing back with a huge victory in the six man main event... Still looking forward to Galloway vs Riddle, one on one...
Of course, Marty Scurll delivers an extremely intriguing performance... Without even stepping inside the ring... Suspense builds and I still think another party is playing an integral part in this plot...
The matches at the top of the card were great as well... Williams better get focused if he wants to hold onto that title...
Great stuff, as always!

Pariah - Galloway is far from done with the PAB but he's not going to get his hands on Riddle quite yet. Williams won't be the only one who needs focus for the upcoming title match. I'm gonna have to start calling you Fox Mulder with all of your conspiracy theories! The Villain wouldn't be colluding with anyone now, would he? 73 Ricochet def. Zack Sabre Jr.Sabre started strong, landing some heavy offense before going for the Cross Armbreaker, trying to end it early. Ricochet barely escaped and Zack scaled the turnbuckles as Ricochet recovered. Ricochet caught Sabre in mid dive with a cutter and got a near fall. After a crazy spot outside of the ring, it was Ricochet’s turn to go up top. He missed a 630 Senton and Sabre covered him, almost getting the pin. The risk taking offense did not end there and it was Ricochet coming out on top with Chocolate Rain. Fred Yehi w/GSA def. Matt Riddle w/PABIt was crowded at ringside as entourages for both men were out to corner them. The Premiere Athlete Brand of Anthony Nese, Caleb Konley, and Su Yung were with Riddle and Drew Gulak, EVOLVE Champion Tracy Williams, and Will Ospreay of the Gulak Shoot Academy backed up Yehi. Riddle’s taunts led to Yehi recklessly attacking and Matt made him pay. Pummeling his opponent, Riddle softened Fred up for a Fujiwara armbar trying to get the submission. He switched to the Cross Armbreaker but Yehi still wouldn’t give. Fred turned things around on the floor, bashing Riddle into the guardrail. A German suplex preceded a Koji Clutch which had Riddle in trouble. With the GSA rooting him on, Yehi put together some effective offense culminating in another Koji Clutch. Fred hit an Uzumaki Special from out of nowhere, appearing to knock Riddle out cold. Su Yung tried distracting the ref but the GSA scared her off and Yehi got the three count in a huge upset. Anthony Nese helped Riddle to the back and Gulak told Will Ospreay “That’s how you shoot” pointing at Yehi. Ospreay was next up against Caleb Konley. Caleb Konley w/Su Yung def. Will Ospreay w/GSAKonley and Ospreay went back and forth with a lot of high spots between them. Caleb outpaced his opponent and racked up the pin attempts until a tornado DDT closed out the action. Drew Gulak was incensed, chiding Will. “What were you doing in there?! This isn’t gymnastics, this is wrestling!” Timothy Thatcher came out. He had something to say about the EVOLVE Championship. He beat EVOLVE Champion Tracy Williams at EVOLVE 72 and felt he should be #1 contender, not Roderick Strong. The crowd backed his claim. Everyone was surprised when “The Villain” Marty Scurll appeared. After some posturing at ringside, Marty confronted Thatcher, warning to stay out of Roderick Strong’s business. Tim responded that Scurll better stay out of his. Scurll took this as a challenge and the two prepared to do battle. Timothy Thatcher def. Marty ScurllScurll was making his EVOLVE in-ring debut against the formidable Thatcher. They circled one another building intensity for the lock up but Scurll killed it with a swift eye poke and laughed. He wasn’t laughing long as Tim muscled him into a Rocking Chair Cradle, looking for the submission. Scurll refused to quit and Thatcher transitioned to a Fujiwara Armbar, getting the urgent tap out from Marty. Thatcher stood defiant in the ring, showing he meant business in the title picture. Scurll slunk to the back, shooting daggers at Thatcher. Anthony Nese w/Su Yung def. Drew GallowayThe bad blood between Galloway and the Premiere Athlete Brand continued here. Drew would have preferred getting his hands on Matt Riddle but Nese would do. The two collided in a collar and elbow. Galloway delivered a vicious powerbomb and went for his Double Arm DDT. Su Yung caused a distraction that may have saved the pin. Drew continued to wallop Nese but Tony got into the match with some agile defense. Nese showed off his impressive strength as well, using suplexes on his bigger opponent. A 450 Splash by Nese failed to end the contest but a Spider German Suplex, with some illegal leverage from the ropes, pinned Galloway. Nese gloated after the win and Drew went berserk, attacking him from behind. He gave Tony not one, not two, but three Double Arm DDTs before he gained some composure. Lenny Leonard commented that Galloway may be looking at a fine or suspension for his actions. EVOLVE Champion Tracy Williams and Roderick Strong came out for their title match. The introductions were interrupted with another appearance by “The Villain” Marty Scurll. He was waving about a silk scarf last seen worn by SoCal Val in the ominous video Scurll played for Strong. Marty brought the scarf up to his nose and inhaled with creepy exhilaration. Once he knew he had Roddy’s total attention, Scurll took the microphone from the insensate Joanna Rose. “It’s decision time Roderick. Will you walk the footsteps of a hero or will you take the left-hand path?”“What the hell are you talking about?” was Strong’s response. “It’s quite simple: your lovely manager is in this building as we speak, tucked away safe where no one can find her. However, a hero would have what it takes to search her out and rescue her from my clutches. But something’s missing… Ah yes, these things always have some kind of time limit, a countdown if you will. You see, I’m going to step through that curtain, retrieve my captive, then leave. It won’t take long. Much quicker than this match will take. So I say again: decision time, Roderick. Rescue the damsel or listen to your own greed and go after the EVOLVE Championship. I know which one I’m betting on.”With that, Scurll stepped back through the curtain, leaving the anxious Strong to make his choice. Williams and Drew Gulak impatiently pressed Roddy to get on with the match. Strong hurriedly told the ref to ring the bell. EVOLVE CHAMPIONSHIPRoderick Strong def. Tracy Williams(c) w/Drew GulakStrong was noticeably trying to push the pace of the match hoping to finish it fast. He struck quickly and had Williams in the Strong Hold in under a minute. Williams wouldn’t submit and Roddy rushed a Gibson Driver and a half nelson backbreaker for a pin attempt but the champion kicked out. Gibson Driver, Argentine Backbreaker, The End of Heartache but still Strong came up empty. Gulak was urging Tracy to create some space and slow the pace. No such luck as Roddy applied the Stronghold again. “Hot Sauce” still held on. Some strikes, another backbreaker and a Sick Kick. One, two, three! Strong had regained the EVOLVE Championship in an amazing performance but he immediately raced to the back, leaving the ref holding his newly won title belt. The cameraman tried to keep the shot steady as he followed Roddy around the backstage area as he frantically looked for Scurll and Val. One of the boys pointed at the back exit and Roddy burst through the door into an empty alleyway. He looked in both directions before spotting Val’s scarf lying on the ground. What a wild main event with Roderick Strong winning the Evolve title from Tracy Williams. "The Villain" truly lived up to his name with some creepy comments concerning the whereabouts of SoCal Val and how Strong went through with the match and won it is really something. I can't wait to see where this goes next.
Fred Yehi over Matt Riddle was a big win for Yehi. I really liked the win by Anthony Nese over Drew Galloway but the "Premiere Athlete" paid for it post-match. Ricochet picked up a nice win over Zack Sabre Jr. in the opener but the 630 almost cost him once again. Another solid Evolve event.

Can't do much more here than echo the fine sentiments already expressed by our friend, cruefan68... Ricochet has looked really strong in his past few appearances - hoping the championship committee sits up and takes notice... Lots of great stories being built around the PAB and the GSA... Galloway is looking vicious - thinking that little post-match outburst may cost him some $$... And the Villain continues to cause plenty of discomfort for everyone watching... Kudos to Roddy Strong for battling through adversity to become champion... Excellent show!

cruefan68 - Roderick Strong destroyed Tracy Williams in case the write up didn't make that clear. If Marty Scurll's plan was to distract Roddy for his title match, it had the opposite effect! Pariah - Ricochet has been on a bit of a roll and the powers that be have taken notice. If he wins his next match, he'll be getting a shot at Roderick Strong. Thanks for reading and commenting guys! 74 The Gulak Shoot Academy came out to the ring. Tracy Williams and Fred Yehi stood back as Drew Gulak addressed Will Ospreay. Drew asked Will if he knew what it meant to shoot because he wasn’t sure if Ospreay was “getting it”. Will nodded, assuring Gulak that he grasped the philosophy of the GSA. Drew regarded him a moment then said “Show me”. Drew walked over to where mannequin-like ring announcer Joanna Rose stood and spoke to her. She introduced the match, catching Ospreay off guard. Drew Gulak def. Will OspreayOspreay tried to utilize his high flying style but Gulak countered every attempt and made Will pay for it. Drew stretched Ospreay at length multiple times with the Trailblazer. Will would not submit to that move or Gulak’s finisher, the University Stretch. Ospreay made a short-lived comeback before Drew went back to work on him, eventually making him tap to the University Stretch. A lot of the crowd booed at the finish, not appreciating Gulak’s treatment of Ospreay. Will got back to his feet to face Drew but turned to the crowd as they cheered him. Gulak cuffed Will and pointed at himself, demanding Ospreay’s attention. “Are you going to listen to them or to me ?” Will hung his head, taking Gulak’s direction to get in the corner for the GSA’s next match. Fred Yehi w/GSA def. Caleb Konley w/Su YungKonley ran his mouth at Yehi and regretted it as Fred lit him up with some vicious chops. Caleb hit a moonsault and put Yehi in the Oh! Face, almost getting the submission. Fred took over when Konley missed on a second moonsault. Yehi took his opponent to Power Bomb City and capped it off with an Uzumaki Special, knocking Konley out just like he did his PAB teammate Matt Riddle at EVOLVE 73. The three count was just a formality. Drew Gulak was excited, congratulating Fred then telling Will Ospreay to follow his example. 3-WAY FREESTYLEZack Sabre Jr. def. Marty Scurll and Tracy WilliamsScurll hung out at ringside as Williams put a hurting on Sabre. Marty broke up a pin attempt by Tracy after a single underhook brainbuster. It was Williams’ turn to take a beating at the hands of “The Villain”. After some action on the floor, Marty went for the cover after a rebound lariat but Sabre was there for the save. Zack tried unsuccessfully to end it with a Cross Armbreaker on Scurll. Sabre put Marty through the wringer until the dastardly one reversed his fortunes by bashing Zack into the guardrail. Sabre and Scurll balanced precariously on the top turnbuckle trying to secure an advantage. It looked as if Sabre was going to topple to the floor but he snagged Marty’s arm and locked in the Cross Armbreaker as he dangled over the top rope. The ref chose to let the action continue and Scurll ended up tapping out. Drew Galloway def. Matt RiddleLenny Leonard mentioned the bad blood going into this match between Galloway and the Premiere Athlete Brand. Drew was fined for his post-match actions against Anthony Nese at EVOLVE 73. Nese suffered a neck injury and was out of action for this EVOLVE weekend. Riddle came directly for Galloway whipping him into the turnbuckle. Drew got a boot up as Matt charged. Hitting the Scot Drop on Riddle twice, Galloway then went for his Double Arm DDT. The ref counted to three and Galloway hopped to his feet and roared in victory. The PAB had awakened the beast and they suffered his wrath. #1 CONTENDER MATCHTimothy Thatcher def. RicochetThese two were the top performers during the last EVOLVE weekend besides EVOLVE Champion Roderick Strong. Both went undefeated and were now competing for a title shot at EVOLVE 75. It was a contrast of styles as the high flyer took on the mat wrestler. Ricochet put on a spectacle as was expected, hitting Thatcher with an aerial barrage before going for Chocolate Rain. Thatcher seized the advantage, catching Ricochet with a nasty European uppercut as he came off the top rope. A Fujiwara Armbar provided the flash finish, propelling Thatcher on a collision course with Roderick Strong.

Was really hoping that Ricochet would claim that number one contender spot... His wicked performance falls just shy of the mark and Thatcher wins himself a shot at Strong and the title...
Galloway is looking fierce and I loved the easy ZSJr forced Scurll to tap on that Triple Threat... Looks like Ospreay is getting no respect as a member of the GSA... Perhaps he should consider flying on his own...
Awesome stuff!

I agree with Pariah on Will Ospreay as he is being disrespected by the GSA. Hoping to see Ospreay have an answer to that. Zack Sabre Jr.'s win was very cool and i really like the thought of Roderick Strong defending the Evolve title against Timothy Thatcher. Drew Galloway is really on a roll which is nice to see. Another solid show.

Pariah , cruefan68 - Galloway seems to have closed out his rivalry with Riddle and the PAB so we'll wait and see where the future takes him. Will Ospreay's troubles assimilating into the GSA continue here and as for the Roderick Strong/Timothy Thatcher title match - prepare for mayhem! 75 Matt Riddle def. Will Ospreay w/GSAOspreay has had heat with the Gulak Shoot Academy’s founder Drew Gulak. Drew wants Will to adopt the “shoot” philosophy of the GSA but it hasn’t happened. Before this match, Gulak is overheard telling Ospreay to “Forget that flippy crap. Wrestle!” Riddle, representing The Premiere Athlete Brand, was amused by the dialogue. Right out of the gate, Ospreay went to his acrobatic arsenal. Despite having the advantage on Riddle, Gulak showed frustration with Will’s strategy. Drew threw his hands in the air, yelling, as The Aerial Assassin missed a high risk leap from the top turnbuckle. Riddle took over with some basic strikes. Will was able to evade and counter at one point but Riddle reversed a back handspring headscissors and soon finished Ospreay with a Heel Hook. Ospreay joined Gulak and Fred Yehi as fellow GSA member Tracy Williams took his place in the ring. Introductions were made for Williams and his opponent “The Villain” Marty Scurll. Before the ref could call for the bell, EVOLVE Champion Roderick Strong came out and confronted Scurll in the ring. Strong demanded to know where his manager SoCal Val was. Scurll just grinned as the ref stepped in between the two. Gulak then got into the ring and told Roddy that he was sick of him repeatedly interrupting GSA matches. Strong shoved Gulak and Drew shoved back. They quickly came to blows and the GSA tried separating the two. Scurll used this as an opportunity to bushwhack his opponent. As Marty put the boots to Williams, officials had everyone else removed from ringside. Tracy Williams def. Marty ScurllScurll tried taking the action to the floor but Williams reversed his fortunes and tried twice to beat Marty with a Piledriver. Tracy went to the top rope but Scurll yanked on the ropes, causing Williams to crotch himself on the turnbuckle. Scurll used a rebound lariat to set up his own leap from the top rope but WIlliams rolled clear. Piledriver number three delivered the win for “Hot Sauce”. Caleb Konley w/Su Yung def. Zack Sabre Jr.Konley and Sabre were meeting for the first time since their recent feud and Lenny Leonard commented that he hoped the animosity between the two would not be rekindled. It was Sabre who had the fast start but Konley made a comeback, firing on all cylinders. He trapped Zack in the Oh! Face for a length of time. When he wouldn’t submit, Caleb went to the Home Wrecker. Sabre kicked out twice, frustrating Konley but the third attempt was all he could take. Konley had his hand raised with a convincing win. Fred Yehi def. RicochetInitially, the GSA accompanied Yehi to the ring but Drew Gulak told Fred that this rematch from EVOLVE 72 was a test and he would have to face it alone. Lenny Leonard commented that in their first meeting, Yehi was also without his teammates in his corner. Ricochet rolled over Yehi last time they fought but that was not the case this go around. Fred countered Ricochet's opening attempt at offense, reversing a suplex into the Blame Bell. A Yehi Special set up the Koji Clutch, nearly making Ricochet tap out. Yehi Special again for a near fall. Fred stayed one step ahead of his opponent, reversing any attempts at offense. A Koji Clutch spelled the end for Ricochet. The GSA returned to the ring to congratulate Yehi as he continued his climb up the rankings. OPEN THE UNITED GATE CHAMPIONSHIPBravado Brothers def. Team Tremendous(c)Detectives Dan Barry and Bill Carr were making their first defense of the tag team titles since winning them at EVOLVE 71. It was Lancelot starting off against Carr with a taunting choke but Bill no-sold Lance’s front and back clotheslines and took control. Lance got the advantage back for his team when Barry missed a jump from the top and followed up with a Deadlift German Suplex for a near fall. Harlem tagged in and body slammed Dan on the floor. He tagged Lance back in and they combined for the Gentleman's Agreement, bringing Carr in for the save. The champion’s were in trouble as Lance roughed up Barry on the floor. Dan desperately needed a tag. The Bravados executed the Gentleman’s Approach and, once again, Carr had to make the save. Gentleman’s Agreement again by the Bravados. Harlem made the cover as Lance knocked Carr from the apron. The ref counted three and the Bravados captured the Open the United Gate Championship. EVOLVE CHAMPIONSHIPRoderick Strong(c) def. Timothy ThatcherBoth men were focused on what was expected to be an intense match. Strong won the first meeting between them and Thatcher wanted to even the score and claim the EVOLVE title in the process. Despite his best efforts, Thatcher had trouble landing any offense as Roddy countered his every move. Strong began building steam and struck with a Sick Kick. Thatcher was able to get a shoulder up. Strong took his opponent to the floor to inflict more punishment but Tim sidestepped a charge and Roddy went into the post, appearing to injure his shoulder. Back in the ring, Thatcher took advantage of this new vulnerability and worked for a Fujiwara Armbar. Strong escaped and the two traded offense. Strong hit another Sick Kick for a two count. Roddy continued on offense, pausing now and then to shake out his arm. Thatcher moved out of the way of a corner charge and Roddy went into the post with his bad arm again and tumbled to the floor. As Strong writhed on the ground, “The Villain” Marty Scurll showed up at ringside. Thatcher, the crowd, and the referee were all on edge, wondering what Scurll was up to. Marty made his way to where Roderick was and stood over him, gazing about madly. Thatcher urged the ref to get control of the situation, not wanting Scurll’s presence to impact his chance of winning the title. Roddy looked up to see Scurl looming over him and defensively tried to wriggle away from him. Scurll spoke to Roddy and held his hand out, offering to help him to his feet. Roddy grimaced and kicked at the proffered hand. Scurll straightened up, a little ruffled by the rebuke. Strong pulled himself up grasping the barricade with his good arm. Scurll stepped closer, again offering to help, only to be weakly pushed away by Roddy. Scurll paused and said something again, approaching Roddy with open arms. Like a cornered animal, Roddy lashed out with a blistering chop to Marty’s chest. Scurll recoiled, wincing in pain. Marty composed himself, reaching for his umbrella which he had left on the ring apron. With fury in his eyes, he swung the umbrella, bashing Strong in the head, dropping him to the ground once more. The referee called for the bell, unjustly disqualifying Thatcher who was livid. As Scurll was swatting Roddy, Tim hopped down to the floor and spun him around, aiming to make him answer for ruining his title opportunity. The crafty Scurll was ready for him though and kneeled for a well placed low blow. Scurll then shoved Strong into the ring, dragging him into a seated position. Standing over him, Scurll shouted “Chickenwing!” and took Strong’s back, applying the hold to Roddy’s bad arm. Scurll cranked on the hold as Roddy yelled out in agony. Lenny Leonard anxiously called the action as referee’s came to the ring but were unable to force Scurll to break the hold. Finally, making a surprising appearance, PJ Black, Strong’s old SoCal Associates partner flew from the back in street clothes and slid under the bottom rope. He grabbed at Scurll who still would not relent. He then started stomping on “The Villain” finally making him release the hold and scramble out of the ring. Scurll postured in front of the curtain, insane glee lighting up his face as Black and EVOLVE officials tended to the wounded champion. Lenny Leonard thanked the viewers for a great 2016 and to look forward to EVOLVE returning in 2017. EVOLVE TOP 10Champion - Roderick Strong - Timothy Thatcher
