H.B.W.A Presents: LATE NIGHT WRESTLING
Television studio broadcast
Hosted by 'Precious' Paul Torissi & Pete 'The Duke Of Dorchester' Doherty The show begins with The Midnight Express and their manager, Jim Cornette in the ring. A cocky looking Cornette has the mic in hand as begins to deliver a boastful tirade:
Cornette: "Stan Lane, you've had since the last broadcast to come up with a tag-team partner to face Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Dennis tonight and whaddya know? You ain't come up with anyone! It's just like I said, you haven't got any friends- apart from your mirror and as I hear it son, that's cracked in a million pieces so no wonder why you're getting all this bad luck right now! I don't care whether you fight us two on one, or you drag the first sorry sack of something from back in the locker room to face us later because you see, it don't matter son, because tonight, you'll finally experience what it's like to be on the end of a whooping from the Midnight Express."1. The first contest of the evening sees fiery local George South wait impatiently in the ring for his opponent, Sam Houston. Houston dances his way down the aisle, slapping hands and tipping his hat towards the beautiful ladies in attendance. Seemingly annoyed, South slides out the ring and begins an early assault as the ref feels forced to ring the bell. The brawl is surprisingly even until Houston hits a bulldog on the concrete floor before rolling South inside the ring and giving him a hard posting. Another bulldog follows and Houston is victorious....he didn't even have time to take off his chaps. Winner: Sam Houston2. A video package hypes the arrival of the next match as the monstrous Road Warriors stomp towards the ring as Black Sabbath's Iron Man gets the crowd pumped. Hawk and Animal totally decimate their sorry opponents ( Johnny Rodz & Jeff King,) forcing Rodz to the floor with a double clothesline before hoisting King up for the Domesday Device. A dominant victory. Winners: The Road Warriors
3. The villainous Marty Scurll is in the ring next, joined by his 'advisor,' Nigel McGuinness. Tonight, Scurll faces 'Leaping' Lanny Poffo, who is stuck somewhere in the mid-card and could really do with a victory here to help advance his fortunes. No such luck, as despite some early fire from Poffo, Scurll takes control, thanks in part to some distraction antics form McGuinness. Poffo stalls on high cross body and completely misses his opponent, who capitalizes by trapping Poffo in the crossface chicken wing. It doesn't take long for referee to call for the bell from then on. Winner: 'The Villain' Marty Scurll
4. SD Jones waits in the ring for his opponent, the mysterious Masked Playboy who slinks and slithers his way to ringside, delivering a rose between his teeth for his bewildered opponent. As the referee is checking Jones' boots for foreign objects, the Playboy pounces and pummels Jones into the corner. Jones fights back and drops his opponent with a left-hook. The Playboy whimpers and slides to the outside and crawls under the ring apron. As Jones looks over the top rope, Playboy appears on the other side of the ring and launches a knee to his back, before delivering a DDT for the big victory. Just who is this Masked Playboy? Another victory surely means he'll be sticking around for a while yet. Winner: Masked PlayboyBackstage, resident old soak and sometimes roving reporter, Johnny Sausage catches up with Hillbilly Jim, who it appears has had a bit of a windfall: Hillbilly: "Wouldn't you know it? My lottery numbers have come up and they have come up big! But y'know, I'm not gonna let my new found fortune go to my head. First piece of business was to fix up Granny's shack. She's mighty pleased. After that little outlay, I decided to treat myself to some new duds. Y'see, those coveralls were getting all skanky and stained so I took a trip down to my local XXX shop that was having a deal on a load of mighty fine leather accessories and lookey here! Ahm head to toe and this mighty fine biker get-up. Next week I'll be back in the ring too and I'll be accompanied by my other big purchase- a brand new Harley Davidson!"5. One half of the Wyld Studz, Marty Jannetty is in singles action this week against the rough and tough 'Mad Dog' Vachon. These two have faced each other a few times in tag team action, but never one on one. The contrasting styles certainly don't favour the partying Jannety because despite his reeling and a rockin,' he is pummelled by the savage Mad Dog who puts Jannety's lights out with a piledriver. Oww, that's gotta hurt! Winner: Mad Dog Vachon6. Television Champion Fit Finlay defends his title against popular avian enthusiast, Koko B. Ware. Finlay's offence is brutal from the get-go and Ware struggles to go toe to toe with the 'Belfast Bruiser.' Finlay slams Ware to the canvas before whipping him into the turnbuckle. Finlay misses a corner splash and Ware unloads with a series of lefts and rights before delivering four head butts that put the Irishman on his arse. Koko begins to whip up the crowd, but he's blindsided by a low blow. As Finlay hoists Ware up to deliver the Celtic Cross, the unmistakable music of 'Exotic' Adrian Street begins to blare from the studio speakers. Finlay looks confused and blindly gazes into the crowd, looking for his arch nemesis. As he stalls, Ware slips off his opponent's back, grabs a handful of tights and roles Finlay up for the 1,2,3! We have a new Television Champion....and it's Koko B. Ware! Winner: Koko B. Ware (New Televsion Champion)After the match, Ware scrambles out of the ring and claims his prize as Finlay kicks the ring ropes in frustration. As he looks on in despair, Street rushes to the ring and hammers Finlay from behind with his own shillelagh! Street poses and celebrates his his theme tune plays once more!
A pre-taped interview with former Heavyweight champion Harley Race is shown. Race is on tour in Japan, where he boasts of being undefeated: Race: "I have beaten Giant Baba, Rikidozan, Antonio Inoki....and Johnny Ace. Now I've conquered the Orient once again, I am ready to come back and reclaim my title. That means I am coming for you, John Tolos! and Jimmy Hart, if your scrawny bag of bones happen to get in my way, I'll take you out permanently!" 7. It's Main Event time as The Midnight Express and Jim Cornette await the arrival of Stan Lane and his mystery partner. Donna Summer's 'Hot stuff' Pumps out of the speakers and the fans go nuts as Lane is accompanied by 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert, the pair sporting matching gold tailcoats and top hats. Cornette's face is a picture as he stumbles his way out of the ring. The action is hot and heavy, with the crowd firmly behind Lane and his 'fabulous' tag partner. Lane finds himself the victim of a backbreaker and a leg drop, but counters as he is whipped into the ropes by Eaton- he simply struts away as the crowd roar! Gilbert forces Eaton into a corner and the pair brawl over the top rope and to the outside, where Cornette is waiting to deliver a blow with his tennis racket, but Lane grabs it straight from his hand and swings wildly at his former manager. Condrey blasts Lane from behind with a chair as the referee calls for the bell. Lane and Gilbert take the victory, but as titles don't change hands on a DQ, Cornette and his Express hold onto the belts, for at least a while longer. Winners: Stan Lane & 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert (via DQ) Quick Results: Houston over South Road Warriors over Rodz/King Scurrl over Poffo Vachon over Jannetty Masked Playboy over Jones Ware over Finlay- Television Title ( Title Change)Lane/Gilbert over Condrey/Eaton via DQ- Tag Team Title

Woohoo! Big time congrats to Koko B. Ware on that fine performance and becoming the new TV champion... Great assist by the Exotic One as well... This will really heat up the rivalry between him and Finlay... As if any help was needed...
Truly enjoyed the arrival of the Bikerbilly Jim... A really excellent look for him and can't wait to see if it's accompanied by a new attitude in the ring - Somehow I doubt it...
Lane selected a fabulous partner for his main event encounter against former allies, Cornette and the Midnight Express... Too bad he and Gilbert fell short of claiming the belts... But, hopefully that technical decision will earn them a rematch...
Fun stuff, as always!

So much to love about that last show. Exotic Adrian Street music video, Hillbilly Jim transitioning back into Harley Davidson and Stan Lane & Eddie Gilbert joining forces. It's like Memphis all over again with some nice UK flair. Bravo, joebreakdown, you continue to amaze with your presentation in the HBWA. I also enjoyed the Road Warrior squash, the TV title win by Koko B. Ware and the mystery that still surrounds The Playboy. Who is that masked man? Good stuff.

Thank you for your comments cruefan68, TTX & Pariah! Big shock to see Koko claims the TV strap- I can't say he's been pulling up trees as of late. I'm sure Finaly is furious, but the 'Exotic One' is clearly in his head. I guess Lane couldn't get a hold of Steve Keirn, so Eddie Gilbert was the next best. I hope he sticks around as he's been no more than a sideshow in Kat Rana 's FPW. Not sure what's going on with Hillbilly- I think the leather boi look suits him! There's rumours flying around that's he's forming a biker gang. jake Milliman is looking keen... Thanks!
