Just got my set. Quick question: Is Mr. X the Danny Davis version of the character? It would seem so, but the art looks a little heavy to be him.

The Danny Davis Mr. X was probably the most "famous" of the Mister X's, but the card is basically just based on a generic jobber card not a specific Mr. X in mind.....

Well, someone has to rain on the parade, I guess ...
I was ... underwhelmed ... that Eddie Gilbert was the final choice. Nothing against him, and he has a number of possibilities, but I had other hopes. So it goes.
That said, it's not like I threw the set away or anything. In truth, I opened the envelope today, peeked in long enough to grab the booklet and see who the 10th person was, then re-sealed it, since it will be a Christmas present (from my wife to me). That means ...
1. Yes, I technically cheated on a Christmas gift, as far as knowing what it is. I'm willing to look beyond that if you are.
2. Yes, I can wait for the official unveiling. Where my fed is at right now, it's not ready to absorb the new faces ... yet.
Come Christmas, I'm sure to be enjoying another fine effort from the Filsinger gang. So kudos to them.

Kind of like having a weekend card and see who shows up, and then one person is told "Hey its your turn to wear the Mister X costume and get your brains beat in"

Nothing against him, and he has a number of possibilities, but I had other hopes. So it goes. No, I'll agree. I never saw him wrestle, I know almost nothing about him, so it really did nothing for me that he was included. That said, many cards like that have gone on to be among my favorites after I do some research. But I certainly didn't scream, "WOW, Eddie Gilbert!"

What is so great about having wrestlers that are unknown to me is I learn about them and they add such a rich history to the game whether I've seen them or not, this game is all about your imagination...
I'm already using Bill Dundee, Kevin Sullivan and the Sheepherders in my North American Wrestling promition and Sullivan is the only one to lose but it was at his own hands via dq...

Oh, absolutly. I've discovered wrestlers in this game that I have then gone on to get old matches from and they are now high on my list of favorites.

Glad everyone likes the set so far. A couple of notes...
1) Thanks to Ty States for getting Eddie Gilbert, Bill Dundee, Jazz and Nora Greenwald signed. Thanks to Mr. Vegas for signing Jerry Lynn and Super Crazy. If there's anyone I missed, my apologies. Most of that stuff goes through Tom, so the Legends Team doesn't usually know who signed who.
2) Tim, Cory & I thought the Havoc Tag Rule was an improvement, and pitched it to Tom, who also liked it. If it doesn't work for you, don't use it.
3) The artwork in the set is awesome, hope you all agree.
4) I think this is a solid set, because there's something for everyone. You have a world class headliner in Thesz, plus solid upper to midcard guys with lots of territory experience like Sullivan, Gilbert, Dundee, and the Sheeps. Throw in a Vintage wrestler in Muldoon, and more modern guys like Venis, Lynn and Crazy, and you have the makings for a very strong set. And I know some will be happy to get more women, and I'm very happy to have Mr. X on board.
That's all. Enjoy the set!
