UCW Universal Slammasters '93
February 13th, 2093
"Good evening everyone, this is the UCW's newest announcer, Ursa Major, and I am your host for tonight's big broadcast of UCW Slammasters '93! Tonight we will see FOUR UCW exclusive Tri-Challenge Matches. The winners of the first 3 matches will meet in a final. The winner will be granted the right to challenge for any title at any time of choosing. For our newer fans who may not be familiar with the Tri-Challenge format: Two of the three wrestlers are chosen at random to start. The winner of the fall stays in the ring to face the man not involved in the previous fall. This continues until one man has defeated the other 2 consecutively. This means a match might be 2 falls...or 200! We are almost ready for our first match, BlackHole Bart and DragonMaster are already in the ring waiting for the 3rd man in the first Tri-Challenge Semi-Final match...."
*A video plays on the history of UCW, featuring many of the stars past and present. After the video ends, the cameras cut to the back with security knocking on a door. SPIKE(!) comes out and charges toward the ring*
Match 1:
Tri-Challenge Semi-Final: DragonMaster vs BlackHole Bart vs Spike
Spike and BlackHole Bart start off as the first contest. This goes about as well as you would expect, and Spike quickly defeated Bart with the MegaDestroyer. The new relaxing of the rules was in force in the next fall as both DragonMaster and Spike used tactics that may have gotten them both disqualified in early events. DragonMaster was having the match of his life and shocked the crowd by scoring a win over Spike with a cross body block. The next fall against Bart was almost anti-climatic after that, and DragonMaster scored the fall after a whip into the turnbuckle.
Results: Spike pinned BlackHole Bart after a MegaDestroyer, DragonMaster pinned Spike after a cross body block, DragonMaster pinned BlackHole Bart after a whip into the turnbuckle to win the match.
"WOW! DragonMaster with a shocking upset over the UCW legend Spike! He is now just one match from the chance of a lifetime! It just goes to show, no one can predict what can happen at Slammasters! Let's go to the ring for our next match."
Match 2:
Tri-Challenge Semi-Final: Billy Jo Boxer vs Dreadnaught vs Count Necros
Count Necros was hobbled with an injury and was probably lucky to have been drawn to be the first man out as Boxer and Dreadnaught started the match off. Dreadnaught was too powerful and overwhelmed Boxer, hitting him with the Guided Missle to score a pinfall win. Necros was clearly in no shape to wrestle and Dreadnaught was able to easily beat him with another Guided Missle to win the match in only 2 falls.
Results: Dreadnaught pinned Billy Jo Boxer after the Guided Missle, Dreadnaught pinned Count Necros after the Guided Missle to win the match
"Whoa! Dreadnaught looked tough! I've been in the ring with him before and he looks even more awesome now! Will he be the one to win the Tri-Challenge final? Our last semi-final is a star-studded affair let's go to the ring for introductions!"
Match 3:
Tri-Challenge Semi-Final: Bounty Hunter vs Matador vs Chopper Mattock
With Necros hurt, and the Masters of Illusion preparing for their Universal Title challenge, Chopper was on his own. It didn't faze him much, and surprised Matador with a powerslam to score an upset pin win! As he was celebrating, however, Bounty Hunter nailed him from behind with the Ambush to pick up a fall. This had the dual effect of not giving Matador much time to recover, and Hunter took control of the third fall early on. He nearly pinned Matador twice with the Ambush, but Matador fought back. He finally hit Hunter with the Matador Death Run to score a pinfall to keep the match alive! Chopper showed no mercy to him, quickly entering the ring to continue the punishment and to try to get a second win on Matador. The crowd was beginning to be impressed by this show of fortitude and began cheering Matador on! Matador, seemingly buoyed by the unusual show of support, was able to hit the Bullwhip to score the win!
Results: Chopper Mattock pinned Matador after a powerslam, Bounty Hunter pinned Chopper Mattock after the Ambush, Matador pinned Bounty Hunter after the Matador Death Run, Matador pinned Chopper Mattock after the Bullwhip.
"So the Tri-Challenge final is now set: It will be the surprising DragonMaster, Dreadnaught and Matador will compete for the chance at any title at any time they want! We'll be back after this intermission"
