- BUTCHER'S RULES -
Arik Cannon vs. Necro Butcher
Necro Butcher defeated Arik Cannon with a NECRO BOMB at 12:41
Match Notes: What a way to open up the card! Necro Butcher and manager, Oliver Humperdink came out, and Humperdink demanded that the ref make the match "Butcher's Rules," which meant anything is legal, including weapons! Arik Cannon came down, and was ready for a fight, and had no problem agreeing! The bell rang, and the two tore into each other, using whatever could be used as a weapon, including a fan's crutch, and another fan's belt, as well as a fan's keys. After smashing Cannon a couple times with his chain, Butcher deliver a legdrop with a chair on the apron, to the face of Arik Cannon. It was a brutal sight. Butcher then hit the NECRO BOMB for good measure, and got the victory. Humperdink's men are proving to be quite a hellacious force here in ROG. Butcher stared down at Cannon, as if he was ready to do some more damage, but Humperdink dragged his man out of there.
- Commissioner Cox makes an announcement! -
Commissioner Cox comes out, and first announces that tonights World Television Title match will be fought with a 15 minute time limit! His next announcement, is that the ROG will be returning to pay per view in a little over 2 months(Card #20), entitles the Sin City Spectacular, and it will be live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV! But before that, Ring Of Glory will be coming to prime time on a Saturday Night(Card #15) for a special show! ON that show, we will get another rematch between World Champion, Harley Race, and Nick Bockwinkle for the ROG World Heavyweight Title! Also announced was a tag match between Ox Baker and Necro Butcher against Red Bastien and a mystery partner!
Erick Stevens vs. Koko B. Ware
Koko B. Ware defeated Erick Stevens with a DISQUALIFICATION at 5:00
Match Notes: Short match, nothing to exciting here. Stevens was overpowering Koko from the start. They began brawling outside the ring, where Stevens hit Koko with a ringside monitor, resulting in a DQ loss for Stevens, who was not a happy camper, who threatened to strike the referee in angery, but Koko grabbed Stevens and delivered a few fists to the face, before Stevens fell through the ropes, and out of the ring. The fans popped as Koko danced around with his bird, as Stevens looked on in disgust.
Heartbreak Express vs. Backseat Boyz
Sean Davis defeated Trent Acid with a Michinoku Driver at 10:54
Match Notes: The previous meeting between these two teams went to a double DQ. The next match for the Backseat Boyz after that, saw them fail in their bid to regain the World Tag Team Titles. Tonight they attempt to start working their way back up the ladder, into contention for the titles. But the Express controlled most of the match, partly thanks to nefarious means, and go on to get the win. The Heartbreak Express' manager, Eddie Fyne, then declared after the match, that not only are Phil and Sean Davis the sexiest men alive, they are soon to be the next ROG World Tag Team Champions! Not sure one win qualifies them as contenders, but we'll see what they have in store.
- ROG WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP-15 Minute Time Limit -
Gorgeous George vs. Mike Quackenbush
for the ROG World Television Championship
This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT DRAW) at 15:00
Match Notes: Mike Quackenbush retains the title via time limit draw! Earlier in the night, Commissioner Cox announced that this match would have a 15 minute time limit, rather than the usual 10 minutes for TV Title defenses. Even with the extra 5 minutes, we still didn't get a definitive finish. It was another good back and forth match, with each man able to use their finishers, but both were determined, and would not be pinned. For all his flamboyance, Gorgeous George showed some toughness and fight in this match. After the match, Gorgeous George grabbed the belt from the ref, and in frustration planted it across the face of Mike Quackenbush! George then put the belt on, and paraded around the ring to a chorus of boos. Up next for Quackenbush is a title defense against Buddy Rose, another man he went to a draw with. The real question is, will we get Quackenbush/George III?
Delirious vs. Adam Pearce
Delirious defeated Adam Pearce with a CHEMICAL INBALANCE #2 at 2:12
Match Notes: Before the match, Adam Pearce declared that he wanted to be known as "Hardcore" Adam Pearce! "Hardcore" Adam Pearce then proceeded to lose very quickly to Delirious! After the match, Pearce attacked Delirious, and tried to rip his mask off, that's when The Sandman showed up! This time his SINGAPORE CANE was wrapped in barbed wire! Pearce saw it, and had a look of fear in his eyes, and quickly got out of there! The Sandman was heard yelling at Pearce, "I thought you were hardcore!"
Paul Ellering and Road Warriors vs. Bobby Heenan and Valentines
Animal defeated Bobby Heenan with a DOOMSDAY DEVICE at 2:47
Match Notes: At RingWars, Paul Ellering debuted in ROG as the Road Warriors manager, for what was an incredible tag team match between the Valentines and the Road Warriors. A brawl ensued after that match, so tonight, we got a big six man match, which sees the managers of both teams in action! You could see in Heenan's face he was very hesitant for this match, where as his counterpart, Paul Ellering, was ready for a fight. A fight is what we got. The action started before the bell even rang, with the six men brawling all over the ringside area...well four of the men brawling, and Ellering chasing around Bobby Heenan. After a slamming the Valentines into the ringpost, ring stairs, ringside table, and guard rails. The Road Warriors finally threw Greg and Johnny in the ring to start the match. And a short time later, the Road Warriors finished it with the DOOMSDAY DEVICE! Ellering finally did get ahold of Heenan, and Heenan desperately tried to escape, getting his attire ripped off in the process. The Valentines finally grabbed their manager, and left the ringside area, while the fans cheer wildly for the Road Warriors!
Mil Mascaras vs. Killer Kowalksi
Mil Mascaras defeated Killer Kowalksi with a CROSSBODY ATTACK at 5:25
Match Notes: This was a rematch from RingWars, where Kowalski used a ringside table as a weapon to help him defeat Mil Mascaras, who was on tour in the US. Mascaras decided to stick around Ring Of Glory, to get another shot at Kowalski, who called Mascaras nothing but a freak hiding behind a mask. Kowalski was eager for this rematch to crush Mascaras once and for all. Kowalski did dominate most of the match. But a simple mistake led to Mascaras hitting a slingshot plancha, and then a CROSSBODY ATTACK, which was all Mascaras needed for the win! After the match, Kowalski attacked Mascaras, delivering a knee to the back, and then locked in a CLAW HOLD...until he ripped of Mil Mascaras' mask!! Mascaras quickly covered his face. He grabbed his cape that he wears to ringside, covered his face, and got out of there, while Kowalski held the mask up like a title belt, with an evil smile on his face!
- ROG UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP -
Jimmy Snuka vs. Frank Gotch
for the ROG United States Heavyweight Championship
Frank Gotch defeated Jimmy Snuka with a GOTCH TOEHOLD at 5:43
Match Notes: Frank Gotch retains the ROG United States Heavyweight Title! After his big win over Buddy Rogers at RingWars, Snuka earned this title shot, but you could see he was hobbling a bit from Rogers' post match attack on Snuka that night. Gotch, wisely, worked over that knee, wearing Snuka out. With Snuka not able to drag himself up, Gotch locked in the GOTCH TOEHOLD for the submission win. Gotch did help Snuka to his feet after the match. Buddy Rogers was spotted in the isle way, with a sly smile on his face. He got on the mic, and sarcastically congratuled Snuka for such a courageous effort. Rogers then said if Snuka had half the intestinal fortitude that he had, Snuka would have won the match anyways. Frank Gotch interjected himself, and said if Rogers was half the man Snuka was, then Rogers wouldn't need all the dirty tactics and the valet to help him win a match. Rogers scoffed at Gotch's comments. Gotch then challenged Rogers to a match. Rogers didn't seem to want any part of that. Gotch then offered to put the US Title on the line. Rogers would finally accept, and the match was signed!(Card #14)
Coming up on the next show, the main event will be for the World Tag Team Titles, when The Valiants challenge Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff. Also Buddy Rose and Mike Quackenbush will have a rematch for the World TV Title, Don Leo Jonathan makes his ROG debut, and Paul Ellering and Bobby Heenan will meet in the ring, one on one!!
