Delirious vs. Ricky Landell Delirious defeated Ricky Landell with a Cobra Stretch at 1:29 Match Notes: Landell is young, and has a lot of talent, but he has been on a slide lately, and it continues today with a quick loss to Delirious. After the match, Steve Corino, Landell's original trainer, made his first appearance in ROG! Corino he came out, and said something to Landell, and the two left together.
- ROG WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP - Brent Albright vs. Buddy Rose for the ROG World Television Championship Buddy Rose defeated Brent Albright with a DDT at 1:30 Match Notes: Buddy Rose retains the ROG World Television Title! Albright has been impressive lately, and looked primed to win the TV Title. But Rose put a halt to Albright's streak quickly. Rose got away with hitting Albright with a foreign object across the head, and then delivered a DDT to pin Albright, and retain the title.
The Vachons vs. Backseat Boyz Trent Acid defeated Butcher Vachon with an ACID BOMB at 2:07 Match Notes: The Vachons make their ROG debut, but it wasn't a good one. They got in virtually no offense, as the former World Tag Team Champions get back on the winning track with a quick win. The Vachons attacked the Boyz after the match, and left them laid out.
Bob Orton Jr vs. Don Leo Jonathan Don Leo Jonathan defeated Bob Orton Jr with a COUNTOUT at 7:50 Match Notes: This had the potential to be a very good match, as it was a back and forth battle. But then it ended prematurely, when a cross body block by Jonathan on Orton, on the floor, led to a count out loss for Orton.
Buff Bagwell vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Buff Bagwell with a FLYING SPEAR at 5:28 Match Notes: Duggan, already a big favorite, got even more cheers, after dispatching of Sherri Martel, who was trying to interfere. Martel saw the win slipping away from her man, as Duggan was dominating, and tried to interfere. Duggan took care of her, grabbing her by the hair, and shoving her down off the apron. Duggan would go on to hit the FLYING SPEAR, and notch up another nice win.
- #1 CONTENDERS MATCH TO ROG WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES - Kings Of Wrestling vs. Road Warriors Hawk defeated Chris Hero with a gorilla press slam at 23:43 Match Notes: This was a huge match, with great tag team action. After their recent win over the Road Warriors, it had been said they would be next in line for a World Tag Team title shot. The Kings Of Wrestling debated that, saying they should be next. This #1 contenders match was made, and it was fantastic. In the end, the Road Warriors got the win, and will challenge for the titles at the next pay per view Sin City Spectacular. They will face either the Valiants or current champs, Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff, as those two teams are set for a title match on the next card.
The Destroyer vs. Mil Mascaras Mil Mascaras defeated The Destroyer with a FLYING BODYPRESS at 6:13 Match Notes: Good back and forth match, that ended somewhat abruptly, when Mascaras caught The Destroyer off guard with back to back FLYING BODYPRESSES, and picked up a big win for the Mexican star.
- ROG UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - Buddy Rogers vs. Frank Gotch for the ROG United States Heavyweight Championship Buddy Rogers defeated Frank Gotch with a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE at 1:28 Match Notes: Buddy Rogers becomes the new ROG United States Heavyweight Champion! The first meeting between these two, saw Rogers get DQ'ed by special referee, Jimmy Snuka. Rogers demanded a rematch, saying Snuka as the referee wasn't fair, and that his judgement was clouded, and called for the DQ too quickly. Cox didn't exactly agree with Rogers, but didn't argue, and granted a rematch. Less than a minute in, Gotch had Rogers in a rolling knee bar submission. Rogers managed to escape and went to the floor. Gotch went out after, but Sherri Martel jumped in his way trying to keep Gotch from Rogers. Gotch threatened to plant a fist on Martel, but Rogers had snuck around the ring, and behing Gotch, and clipped his knee! Rogers threw Gotch back in, locked on the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE, and that was all she wrote for Gotch, and Rogers became the new US Champion! Gotch paraded around the ring with the newly won belt, and taunted Gotch. Jimmy Snuka came out, and Rogers and Martel cleared the ring. Snuka got on the mic, and said if it was ok with the former US Champ, Snuka wanted the first crack at Rogers. Gotch was fine with that, Rogers however wasn't to keen on it, and rejected the challenge. That's when Commissioner Cox came out, and said not only will the match happen, it will a Steel Cage match at Sin City Spectacular! Rogers threw a fit, but Snuka loved it!
Buddy Rogers won the ROG United States Heavyweight Championship

A pretty fun and interesting card and too bad Gotch did not defeat Rogers, but seeing the Backseat Boyz over the Vachons is a decent upset for sure. The match I really liked the outcome on is Buddy Rose retaining the TV Belt versus Brent Albright, Wild Stuff...

0017 Ring Of Glory Wrestling 01.17.2012 from Freedom Hall, Louisville, KY
- Commissioner Cox makes an announcement - Commissioner Cox comes out to begin the card, and announces a mini tournament tonight for the right to challenge Harley Race for the World Title at Sin City Spectacular! He announces Ted DiBiae will face Bobo Brazil in the first match of the night, and then Mil Mascaras will meet former US Champ, Frank Gotch. The winners will meet later in the night to determine the #1 Contender to the ROG World Heavyweight Title!
Ted DiBiase vs. Bobo Brazil Bobo Brazil defeated Ted DiBiase with a COCO BUTT at 6:36 Match Notes: These two have been feuding lately, so there was definitely some bad blood coming into the match. A now a World Title shot was on the line, adding to the intensity! King Kong Bundy and Virgil was in the corner of DiBiase, but Giant Baba was in Bobo's corner, to neutralize The Corporation. So we got a good clean match, for the most part. The ending was a little wild. DiBiase inadvertantly hit the ref with an elbow, knocking him down briefly. Meanwhile, DiBiase locked on the MILLION DOLLAR DREAM. But with no referee to check on Boob, DiBiase let go of the hold to get the ref back to his feet. This gave Bobo time to recover, and when DiBiase went to strike again, Bobo delivered a surprise COCO BUTT, and scored the win over DiBiase! Bobo will now face the winner of the next match later tonight. DiBiase was furious with the ending, kicking the ropes, and arguing with the ref.
Mil Mascaras vs. Frank Gotch Mil Mascaras defeated Frank Gotch with a CROSSBODY ATTACK at 4:12 Match Notes: Gotch just lost his US Title to Buddy Rogers on the previous card, but Gotch was on to bigger better things, as he tried to earn a shot at the World Title tonight. But the high flying, Mil Mascaras, kept Gotch off his game with his agility. After a CROSSBODY ATTACK, Mascaras picked up the win! Gotch was obviously frustrated with himself after the match, but did shake Mascaras' hand. Mil Mascaras and Bobo Brazil will no face off later tonight, for the right to face Harley Race for the ROG World Heavyweight Title, at Sin City Spectacular!
- ROG WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP - Gorgeous George vs. Buddy Rose for the ROG World Television Championship This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT DRAW) at 10:00 Match Notes: Buddy Rose retains the ROG World Television Title via time limit draw. Another TV title match, another draw. Gorgeous George has had multiple shots at the title, and they all have ended in draws. Those matches were against Mike Quackenbush, this time he face new champ, Buddy Rose. It was a back and forth encounter, that saw attempted interference by Cherie Dupre nearly backfire, and give Rose the win with BOMBS AWAY. But George would kick out, and the battle would continue back and forth until time expired. Commissioner Cox would come out after the match, and stated it is apparent that 10 minutes isn't enough for these TV Title matches. So he declared starting on the next card, TV Title matches will now have a 15 minute time limit. He announced the next defense for Rose will be against former champ, Mike Quackenbush, and the winner of that will face Gorgeous George on the following card, and these matches will be the last chance for Quackenbush and George to gain the title!
Killer Bees vs. Heartbreak Express B. Brian Blair defeated Phil Davis with a DISQUALIFICATION foreign object at 4:35 Match Notes: The Killer Bees finally pick up a win, albeit by DQ. The Killer Bees have been putting on good matches, but haven't been able to pick up a win. Thanks to the use of a foreign object, they win it by DQ tonight.
Sabu vs. Erick Stevens Erick Stevens defeated Sabu with a DISQUALIFICATION for Arabian Facebuster at 6:03 Match Notes: Stevens actually dominated a good portion of the match against the wild man, using his strength. Sabu turned the tables near the end, and locked in a CAMEL CLUTCH. Stevens escaped, and Sabu hit and got away with an Arabian Facebuster once, but he didn't the second time, and the ref called for the DQ. Adam Pearce came out, and grabbed a mic, and said Sabu just proved once again why he, The Sandman, and anyone of their kind don't belong in wrestling, because they don't know how to wrestle. All they know how to do is try to injure people with weapons. While delivering his tirade, The Sandman came out, and delivered 3 brutal SINGAPORE CANE shots to the head of Adam Pearce, busting him open. Later, an angry Pearce would confront the Commissioner about doing something about The Sandman. Cox said he may not necessarily agree with how The Sandman goes about his business, but he says this is a man's sport, and told Pearce he should deal with it in the ring. The Sandman showed up on the scene, and he and Pearce exchanged words. Then Pearce told The Sandman since The Sandman bloodied him, he was going to bloody The Sandman, and challenged him to a First Blood Match at Sin City Spectacular! Erick Stevens and Sabu also signed to meet again at Sin City Spectacular, in a Hardcore Match!
Jimmy Snuka vs. Killer Kowalksi Killer Kowalksi defeated Jimmy Snuka with a CLAW HOLD at 1:52 Match Notes: Before the match, Snuka got a mic, and began cutting a promo about the big US Title Steel Cage Match at Sin City Spectacular, against Buddy Rogers...when Kowalski attacked Snuka. He slammed Snuka into the guardrails and the ringpost, before tossing him in the ring. Kowalski hit a couple more big moves, before locking in the CLAW HOLD until Snuka passed out, giving Kowalski the win.
- #1 CONTENDERS MATCH TO ROG WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE - Bobo Brazil vs. Mil Mascaras Mil Mascaras defeated Bobo Brazil with a slingshot plancha at 19:34 Match Notes: Excellent match, that was marred by interference. Bobo and Mascaras were having a fun, back and forth exciting match, when Ted DiBiase and his Million Dollar Corporation came out to interfere, and attack Bobo. Seeing what was happening, Mil Mascaras dove over the ropes onto DiBiase, Bundy, and Virgil, taking them out! Bobo and Mascaras went on to have a clean match the rest of the way, and Bobo put up a good food, but combining the attack by The Corporation, and kicking out of the FLYING BODYPRESS and CROSSBODY ATTACK multiple times, Bobo just didn't have enough left in him, and went down to Mascaras. This sets up Mil Mascaras versus Harley Race at Sin City Spectacular, for the ROG World Heavyweight Title!
- ROG WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - The Valiants vs. Iron Shiek & Nikolai Volkoff for the ROG World Tag Team Championship Nikolai Volkoff defeated Jimmy Valiant with a Russian Bear Hug at 4:29 Match Notes: Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff retain the ROG World Tag Team Titles! The first meeting between these two wasn't much of a match, it was more of a brief brawl, that saw Shiek and Volkoff use a flag pole as a weapon to aid in the win. The rematch was made, and The Valiants came out a house of fire. But the end would come out of nowhere, as Shiek would break a figure four leglock with a poke to the eyes on Jimmy. Shiek then tagged in Nikolai Volkoff, who immediately locked in a Russian Bear Hug! Jimmy tried to fight it, but was slowly fading. Johnny Valiant tried to help out, but Iron Shiek cut him off. The ref checked on Jimmy, and he was passed out, and the ref awarded the match to the champs! The next title defense for Shiek and Volkoff will be against the Road Warriors at Sin City Spectacular!

Thanks cruefan68. Your fed is my inspiration for the territory system. Plus it gives me a chance to use everyone available. I hope I get my order in the mail monday for Legends 10, and the new Bryan Danielson card, so I can finish out my last couple cards before the pay per view, and then get into the territories.

- ROG WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP - Mike Quackenbush vs. Buddy Rose for the ROG World Television Championship Buddy Rose defeated Mike Quackenbush with a BOMBS AWAY at 9:42 Match Notes: Buddy Rose retains the ROG World Television Title! This was the first TV title match under the new 15 minute time limit rules. It was a fairly even match, Quack held most of the advantage, but a well placed foreign object to the head, turned the match in favor of Buddy Rose. After landing the BOMBS AWAY, that was all she wrote for Quack, and Rose continues his nice run as TV Champ. It was announced during the match, that Mike Quackenbush would be a part of the upcoming Super J Cup tournament. Rose will defend the title on the next card, in a rematch against Gorgeous George.
Belgian Brawler vs. Ricky Landell Belgian Brawler defeated Ricky Landell with a BELGIAN WAFFLE at 0:50 Match Notes: Before the match, Steve Corino, who came out with Ricky Landell, got on the mic, and stated he had been watching his former protege lately, and saw he had been forgetting everything Corino taught him, and that Landell was falling into the abyss. Corino decided he needed to come to ROG, and take Landell back under his wing, and turn him into the star he knows Landell can be. Well, Corino may have some work to do, as Landell not only lost to the Belgian Brawler, he lost quickly. Corino berated Landell after the match.
The Vachons vs. Young Bucks Butcher Vachon defeated Nick Jackson with a body slam – 3 at 3:41 Match Notes: The Vachons brutalize the young duo of Matt and Nick Jackson, en route to a pretty easy win.
Bob Orton Jr vs. Brent Albright Bob Orton Jr defeated Brent Albright with a SUPERPLEX at 6:19 Match Notes: Pretty solid match. Orton hit the SUPERPLEX early on Albright, but Albright managed a kick out. Albright staged a comeback after hitting an Exploder Suplex. He locked in the Sharpshooter for about a minute, but Orton wouldn't submit. Albright went for a back body drop, but ducked his head to early, and Orton turned it into a piledriver, and then hit another SUPERPLEX to pick up the win.
Don Leo Jonathan vs. Nick Bockwinkle Nick Bockwinkle defeated Don Leo Jonathan with a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER at 7:23 Match Notes: Before the match, Commissioner Cox was out with the great Lou Thesz! Cox announced Thesz will be a part of the All Star Wrestling territory. Thesz stated he is here, because he wants to be a part of the Sin City Spectacular pay per view, and would take on any opponent. He issues an open challenge to anyone to face him. Cox invites Thesz to hang out at ringside to view the next match, Bockwinkle vs DLJ. Bockwinkle comes out for the match, and gets in Thesz's face, saying by coming out here and making open challenges to anyone to face, Thesz must think he is some big star. Bockwinkle says no one is bigger in ROG than him. Bockwinkle gets in the ring, to start the match. Short match, but good back and forth action. DLJ nearly won it with the MORMON SWING, but Bockwinkle came back with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK, and then the BOCKWINKLE SLEEPER to pick up the big win. Bockwinkle looked over at Thesz after the match, who was clapping for Bockwinkle Thesz got on the mic, and told Bockwinkle that was a nice win, and that he would love to face Bockwinkle at Sin City Spectacular. Bockwinkle agrees to the match, saying he is going to embarass Thesz! What a huge match signed for Sin City Spectacular!
Valentines vs. James Gang Kip James defeated Johnny Valentine with a DISQUALIFICATION at 22:38 Match Notes: This was the debut of the James Gang, and the fans loved them. BG James did a rap before the match, mocking and making fun of the Valentines. BG and Kip were very charismatic, and definitely drew the fans in during the match. The match itself was great, back and forth tag team action. Things got heated in the end, and Johnny Valentine got DQ'ed for using a steel chair. The fight continued after the match, with the Valentines leaving the James Gang laid out!
Andre the Giant vs. Necro Butcher Necro Butcher defeated Andre the Giant with a COUNTOUT at 15:50 Match Notes: Andre made his shocking debut on Saturday Night Slams, to team with Red Bastien against House Of Humperdink men, Necro Butcher and Ox Baker. That match ended up in a DQ win for Andre and Red. Tonight, Andre faced off against the wild, Necro Butcher, in singles action. Surprisingly, this was a fairly even match. Butcher used whatever tactics he could to keep Andre at bay, while Andre used his size and strength advantage over Necro. In the end, the action spilled to the outside, and while Oliver Humperdink had the ref distracted, Necro used his chain to subdue Andre, with multiple shots to the head that finally took Andre down. He couldn't get up in time to make it the ring before the 10 count, and lost by countout! Andre finally did make it back in the ring, and he and Necro began slugging it out, until Ox Baker came out, and they began double teaming Andre. Andre was holding his own, but Red Bastien came out to help out Andre. Things got even more chaotic, and it took the entire locker room coming out to try and calm things down. Andre, Bastien, Butcher, and Baker all wound up bloodied during the fight.

The bell rings, and Race runs at Konnan going to a jumping knee smash, but Konnan moves, and Race strikes the turnbuckle instead with his knee. Konnan quickly hits a sitout face buster, and then locks on TEQUILA SUNRISE! Before anyone knew, Konnan had scored a monster upset!! The crowd at first was stunned, but then began cheering for Konnan. Race was stunned and angry. With the win, Konnan has just earned himself a future shot at the World Title! What does this do for Race's confidence going into his World Title defense? We'll find out in 2 more cards.
