Thanks for the shoutout about my "retirement" from FG. Well it is a wrestling related retirement, so you know how that usually goes.

Unfortunately I got sick early Friday, and missed a couple shows I planned to go to. I did make it to Progress and Joey Janela Spring Break, which were both very enjoyable. At Progress I think my favorite was Allie Katch and Effy vs Session Moth Martina and Gene Munny...lots of fun. But some great wrestling throughout, and a great tag title match. The Janela show was just craziness all around. If I had to pick a favorite I'd say Matt Cardona vs Blue Pain, but thats because I am a Cardona mark.
I also went to the ACTION DEAN show on Thursday night which was probably the highest concentration of wrestling nerd imaginable. 12 matches across all sorts of genres in a standing room venue in a garage...Indie at its best, but a great collection of wrestlers. On the other end was NXT Stand and Deliver in front of 16K+ people. the show was good, but I dont watch much NXT these days, so some was lost on me.
I liked the WWE World and the Superstore. Got some fun pictures, but didnt wait to meet anyone. Was cool to see the Rock, even though he showed up almost 2 hours late...but he is a heel, so it was expected.
All in all a good couple days with the exception of getting sick and not getting a cheesesteak (The place I stopped at on the way out had over an hour line). Was happy to be back home watching Mania itself on my couch. If Mania is in driving distance again I'll probably do the same next time.

They still run a couple shows a year. Someday I will make it to the Extravaganza of Wrestling Exhibitions.

I think the Destroyer Golf looks fun. But I think 11PM on Saturday is a late start. Probably should start at 11 AM Where are you seeing 11PM? Only time I posted was we had the pavilion from 1 to 5PM.

Really looking forward to driving several hours into town only to lose within minutes in the first round of the GWF tournament. It’s a tradition at this point. 😌 Well you have won a cup before. Of course you won a trivia Royal Rumble where you pulled the last number to get into the Cup and beat Jim Steel in the finals, so not sure that totally counts.

As far as hotels, I have booked my room for the La Quinta in downtown Jamestown. A number of other promoters have booked there as well. It is the hotel closest to the Sunday location and also by the Saturday night afterparty.
There is also the Quality Inn Jamestown (the former Red Roof) that is the closest hotel to the Saturday location, the DoubleTree Hotel downtown (former Holiday Inn), as well as a trio of hotels right by the Bob Evans at exit 12 of I-86 (Clarion, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn).

I have added in some info for optional events beyond what was in the article on the website. Saturday after the con there will be a Jamestown Tarp Skunks game next door, with an afterparty downtown after the game concludes.
Sunday after the con, myself and Jack will be visiting the new National Comedy Center museum and others are welcome to join before heading back home.

Has anyone booked a room yet? Where is everybody staying at? I just booked the La Quinta in downtown jamestown. They have a special for those booking 3 nights if you book by April 4th. More info coming tonight, but downtown hotel will be good for Saturday night and Sunday's locations.
