Jericho/Punk was 5 stars off the hook intense. FINALLY Punk is interesting on the mic again. Thank God for that. I still want Jericho to win though.
Cena was again on spot. Rock is just a show monkey now. He comes out, makes his noises and does his tricks yadda, yadda...Kung Pao Chicken? Fruity Pebbles? Whatever, man.

Rock is a shell of his old self on the mic. Cena has my full support, which I wouldn't have thought a year ago. Although all along expected Cena to win at Mania.

I disagree, it's Cena who is out of his league. The Rock got an entire arena to chant "Lady Parts", "Rocky", AND "Missing Balls", Cena can't even get an entire arena to chant his name. Cena should be on his knees thanking The Rock. It's because of The Rock he got on a cereal box. It's because of The Rock he's in the biggest match in Wrestlemania history since Hogan/Andre. And it's because The Rock decided to take a shot at Hollywood that Cena even got a chance to be the face of the company. If The Rock had never left he would still be hip-hopping in his throwback jerseys and padlock chains. This just all seems to me like Cena is trying to act to cool for the room, but deep down he is just a jealous b****. I'm sure he would have had more acting gigs himself...if he could give a performance that didn't look like it could be phoned in by a cinder block wall. And comparing The Rock to Hogan is absurd. The Rock chose to leave wresting (while still at or near the top) to pursue a career in another form of entertainment. Hogan tried to do both at the same time because he couldn't tear himself away from the clout he had built up in wrestling. If anything that sounds like Cena's film career, having to be written of screen with "injuries" in order to film and then coming back to huge applause like a conquering hero. At least The Rock had the guts to say "Hey, I'm going to go try something new for a while." I'm also starting to think because of all this that the reason for Cena not turning heel isn't the WWE writers...it's Cena. He doesn't know how to be anything else anymore. He HAS to be the hero, he HAS to be the smirking underdog, he can't pull anything else off. And I site recent history for this observation. He had a great shimmer of hope at finally breaking out of his mold against Punk last year. Punk pointed out everything that was wrong with Cena (and still is) and it looked like he might actually make a turn in his career...and then NOPE. Cena is still the hero we should all believe in. And then his program with Kane had all the makings of a fantastic story of love, betrayal, understanding human complexity...but instead NOPE! Cena is a superman and the pay-off is a FREAKING DIVA HEEL TURN! On the flip side when the fans started booing The Rock...he went with it. It's because The Rock chose to "embrace the hate" (to use a recent term) that he became The Rock in the first place! What if "Blue Chipper" Rocky Maivia had ignored the chants of "Die, Rocky, Die?" What if he had tried to "rise above the hate" and stayed the grinning, pineapple haired babyface? I doubt we would be talking about him with the same fervor that we do now. People WANT to see The Rock. They WANT to hear him talk. People are TIRED of Cena.

I disagree, it's Cena who is out of his league. The Rock got an entire arena to chant "Lady Parts", "Rocky", AND "Missing Balls Which just shows you the power of nostalgia. No way the Rock would be getting the same reactions week in and week out for the past 7 years doing the same things. Not to mention the hypocrisy of Cena haters. Cena is for kids but his haters have the time of their lives chanting "Lady parts" and "missing balls" in unison? But Rock stands for the "mature fan". Ok. Cena can't even get an entire arena to chant his name. Except for entire arena's chanting "LET'S GO CENA" "CENA SUCKS"! every time he steps foot into an arena for the past several years.

But that's my point, half the audience is chanting "CENA SUCKS!" No one was chainting "ROCKY SUCKS" last night, or at least not loud enough to be heard. I'm not saying Rocky fans are more mature, I'm saying they are quite obviously not eight years old or female. And while it may be the "power of nostalgia" that is helping The Rock it's something we will never know. But what we can know is that in The Rock's absence John Cena has tried to be The Rock and after years of it I, along with all the "haters" who chant "CENA SUCKS!" are sick of it.

The last few times I have been to a live show, it has been the same people chanting "Let's go Cena/Cena sucks". That is the full chant for most adult males at shows.
Also, John Cena absolutely schooled the Rock last night. It wasn't even close. The Rock was super boring for 20 minutes. John Cena came out, explained what Rock meant when he said Kung Pao so that the fans understood, and then ripped him to pieces.
I liked the Punk Jericho interactions, and the video for HHH/Taker.

I agree with jrgoldman, here.
I think poor Rock has lost his promo appeal. Cena's not tripping over his words. While Rock doesn't have a great argument and is just going after Cena's manhood, Cena's argument of Rock not being around is pretty spot on.
I think Jericho and Punk had a much better confrontation...although Jericho coming out and beating on Punk was annoying. It would have been better if that didn't happen

Heard an interesting theory on Aftermath podcast today, that the Rock using cheat sheets and looking weaker on the promos is by design to make Cena look stronger by comparison. Its working on me if that is indeed the case.

I don't care what the people in the arena are chanting. I don't care what the people at home are thinking. If I must sit through a Cena/Rock feud, then for once I'm backing Cena. I'm sick of Rock; I find no part of his presence entertaining in the least. I enjoy hearing Cena blast Rock because I agree with him.
And when we get WM this year, I'll still care 100 times more for Punk/Jericho and Bryan/Sheamus. I'm also still waiting for Miz' WM match.

I'm sure that the Rock did not need to have crib notes on his arm, and I'm sure the John Cena lines were talked about in advance. It should be noted, however, that it takes a special talent to deliver those lines the way Cena did. It couldn't have just been anyone. I also think its funny that when The Rock comes out and gives a great promo, people say "No one on the current roster is on Rock's level", while when he comes out and gives a boring one and someone schools him, everyone says "Oh, it's obviously scripted". I don't really know where I'm going with this, but it is pretty interesting as a group psychology thing.
